It was almost nine p.m and him and his wife were in bed cuddling. "Whats wrong?" Arianna asked when she saw her mate hurriedly get up. "We are under attack love get our daughter and head to the safe room." He said running out of their room out the pack house. The nearby houses were burning and a few of his men were slayed while the rest was fight the enemies off. He shifted mid air and tackled the nearest enemy wolf killing it off instantly. "Find the girl." He heard one of the unshifted enemy's voice. Hearing this he became furious and ran full speed towards the enemy. Alpha Patrick was the most powerful and feared alpha in all of California. His pack was the strongest and no one dared to challenge him. But this man Drake was brave enough to come and ambush him. Drake was a power hungry wolf and knowing that the shadow moon pack held something powerful he was hell bent on taking it for himself. The fight was intense as Drake saw the attack coming, he slightly side step kicking Patrick right on his stomach causing him to whimper in pain but Patrick being a strong alpha, quickly got up bearing his teeth at the intruder. "Where is she Patrick?" Drake yelled at Patrick who in returned growled lunging at d Drake ripping out a chunk of meat from his shoulder but in the process Drake stabbed patrick with a silver knife coated in wolf's bane right in the heart. Patrick fell down shifting in the process coughing out blood. Silver and wolf's bane were a werewolf's greatest weakness. If stabbed anywhere it might weaken a wolf causing him or her to temporarily be paralysed but if stab right through the heart the Wolf would never heal causing even the strongest alpha to bleed to death. "Such a pathetic alpha." Drake spat. "But don't you worry I will keep you little girl safe as my wife." He laughed like a miniac, leaving patrick to his death. Everything was moving in slow motion for Patrick. The silver was slowly killing him and he watch as his pack members cried in anguish.. The pack house was burning and so was his heart. Arianna and his daughter were in the pack house's safe room, he wanted to jump into the fire and save them but he couldn't he didn't have any strength to get up and fight despite his wolf urging him on. He tried to get up but it was too late he had lost too much blood there was no hope for him. "Patrick" he heard a melodious voice which made his already fainting heart beat loudly. "ria." he coughed some more as he saw his wife's blurry figure come over to him with a crying baby. "You have to leave ria he is coming for..." Patrick said placing a bloody hand over his mates face. While he continued to cough out blood. "No." she whimpered "l can't leave you Patrick." She cried as Patrick tried to wipe her tears. He gazed into her gorgeous chocolate brown eyes before he said "You have to protect our pup ria plea...." but he was cut off by Arianna loud cry. Ariana looked behind her. one of the enemy had stab her in the back but luckily John, Patrick's beta came to the rescue and killed the enemy. "John." Arianna said while she was in pain. "Go to alpha Logan we need help." she said. She glanced at her mate who's breathing had become shallow and she whimpered more. "don't leave me Patrick please." she sobbed. " i love you." patrick said lifting a shaky hand to her cheek. Arianna bent down to kiss him which he responded but only for a few seconds before his hand left her cheeks. Arianna who had felt the bond break knew right there and then that her mate was gone. She kissed him one last time and carried her baby slowly walking to the woods as the pain in her back intensified. She knew she had no time left but she was worried about her baby. On the other had John had arrived at the alpha Logan's pack and informed the alpha who gathered his pack and went to help. luckily it was a fifteen minute run between the Borders in wolf form. Alpha Logan's men started fighting off the enemies while he searched for Patrick. He saw his friend laying limp on the grass covered in a pool of blood. He rushed over but his body was already cold and alpha Logan's heart broke as he saw his friend. He got up and started looking for luna Arianna. Logan knew how important little Crystal was. She had to be protected at all cost. Running around searching, he heard a baby crying. he got closer and saw as luna Arianna shielded her body over the baby and was struck with a silver blade Logan rushed there and fought an already injured Drake who fled the scene shortly after realising he was outnumbered and so did his men. Logan went over to where Arianna was laying "Hold on Aria we will help you" he said calling for one of his beta and the pack doctor they came with. "No logan it's time for me to go be with the godess." Arianna said while tears streamed down her pale bloodied cheeks. "But..." before logan could finish she cut him off. "Please logan take care of little crystal. I can die in peace because I know that a good man like you will take care of my baby. Give this to her when she turns sixteen." She said handing him two lockets one was gold the other was made of blue Crystals that shined in the moonlight. Inside the golden one was a picture of Patrick and Arianna with little crystal in there hands. While the other one contained a tiny piece of paper which had 'mommy and dad love you" "No Aria we will help you. You have to heal Aria" logan cried out to her. John came rushing to them with a doctor. "I can't there is no hope please take care of my pri...." And she let out her last breath before the doctor could even get a chance to help her. A painful howl echoed through the burned down and destroyed pack as the few remaining pack members howled for the loss of their alpha and luna. Little crystal was also crying over the loss of her parents and the powerful alpha aura on her was too overwhelming for such a young pup. She was only a year old and life had to be so cruel as to take her parents and pack away from her. Logan carried her into his arms and she instantly relaxed. "I promise that I will protect you little princess and I won't let any harm come to you. I will love you like my own and give you everything you deserve" he whispered softly into little Crystal's ear and she gave him a baby smile. "Alpha we have killed the rogues most of them have fled but we managed to capture two " his top warrior max said. " take them to the dungeons and interrogate them" Alpha Login ordered. "Yes sir and what about the pack survivors?" Max asked. Logan looked at John who was the remaining important pack member if he would take responsibility but John shook his head and bowed to logan signaling that he accepted him as his alpha. "Take them to our pack." Logan said to max. Little Crystal fell asleep in his hands while holding on to his little finger. He glanced back at the destroyed pack and made a mental note to give his friend a befitting burial after all they grew up together and it saddened him that his only friend had left the world living him to take care of someone important.
