Wisteria

It has been a week since mine and Dayton's last date. Aspen invited him for dinner at the packhouse tonight because Brie and Evander are going to be introducing their pup, Faulkner. I have seen a picture of him that Aspen had on her phone and he is so cute! People have been whispering that Faulkner may be a special wolf. I don't know how much of that I believe, since pack members are always gossiping around here and most of it isn't true. I've heard some crazy stories since coming to this pack, like Aspen was Mikael's true mate but anyone who believes that over the moon goddess's own statement is delirious. The moon goddess said herself that Aspen and Hardin were destined mates. She didn't say Hardin was Aspen's second chance mate. I've even heard that Daphanie and Hardin had a child hidden within the pack because Hardin got her pregnant right after she turned 17. How is that even possible when there aren't any pups here the age this supposed child would be? Where some of these pack members get their information from is beyond me. The only way to know for sure if Faulkner is special right after his birth is if the moon goddess was to appear at dinner tonight and announce he is. Other than that, we will all have to wait until he is older to know for sure. Aspen even said herself that she didn't know she was special until after she and Hardin were given their titles. Anna was like 17 when she found out she could sense things about people. I have 2 assignments left to do before I am done with my schoolwork for the day.

When I finish my work, Mama Amanda checks it and says she is proud of me and how smart I am. She told me that Alexander and Ember would be at dinner tonight and to give them space and not ask where they have been. I told her I wouldn't ask and that I already knew something had happened and they would tell everyone when they were ready. She asked how I knew and I told her I had spoken with Aspen. She nodded and said to get ready for dinner. I did my chores and then got dressed. When we went to the packhouse for dinner, there were a lot more people tonight than there normally are. I guess everyone is excited about meeting Brie and Evander's pup.

We went and sat at our table and I waited for Dayton to walk through the door. I saw Aspen and Hardin walk in with the triplets and then Jakob and Anna came in. I sat there looking around the room to see if Evander and Brie had come in yet so I could go see Faulkner before everyone got here. I got up to go look around and bumped into someone. I looked up and saw it was Dayton. I blushed and said sorry. He smiled at me and told me it was OK and that he bumped into me so he was sorry. He reached for my hand and interlocked our fingers and told me to walk with him over to say hey to Aspen, Hardin, and the triplets. We walked up to the table and all of the pups yelled DAY. Dayton walked to each pup and gave them loves. I smiled and Aspen looked at me and then at Dayton and she smiled at me. I mind-linked her and asked what the smile was about and she laughed and said,

"The two of you are just so cute together."

I rolled my eyes and Dayton grabbed my hand again. He led me over to the table and we sat down and got ready to eat. I looked over at Hardin's table and saw Brie and Evander walk up and Alex and Ember were right behind them.

Once they sat down, Hardin stood up and quieted the room. He said,

"Good Evening Green Moon. First of all, I want to say, I hope everyone has had a wonderful day today. I invited everyone for dinner tonight to announce the arrival of Evander and Brie's son. Green Moon say hello to Faulkner Khristian Tiffin."

Brie held him up and the whole dining hall was clapping and saying congratulations. Hardin looked at Alex and Ember and they nodded. He quieted everyone again and said,

"Now, I have an important issue to address. Most of you know that Alexander's mate, Ember, was tripped down the stairs in the packhouse not long ago. Those who know who is responsible for tripping her need to come forward. Those who know where said person is at need to come see me. If I find out that anyone is helping said person hide from me, you will be punished as well. Do I make myself clear?"

Everyone said Yes Alpha. Hardin said,

"Now, Alexander and Ember were going to share something with you all this evening but have asked me to do it instead. Only a few knew, but Alexander and Ember were expecting their first pup and after Ember's fall down the stairs, She and Alex received the news that their pup didn't make it. As a special gift to them, I had a stone mason make a statue of a pup in honor of their son, Legolas Epsy Tiffin."

Hardin pointed to the entrance to the dining hall as Thomas wheeled a cart in and uncovered the statue. Hardin said,

"Ember, Alexander, I cannot imagine the heartbreak the two of you have been enduring. If you need anything, the Luna and I will help you in any way we can. This statue will be placed in the courtyard of our park so we can all honor the sweet little soul who now watches over this pack and watches over his mom and dad."

I don't think there was a dry eye in the dining hall after Hardin's announcement. Even Dayton had tears in his eyes.

After dinner, we all walked out into the courtyard as Hardin, Jakob, Evander, and Thomas picked up the statue and placed it in the center of the courtyard next to the Green Moon statue. Several older women walked up and placed flowers around the pup statue and Ember began to cry. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her and told her we loved her and we would all be here for her if she needed us. She wiped her face and told me thank you. Alexander hugged me and said I was such a sweet young lady and a blessing to this pack. I smiled and said I believe that we as in me, my brother, and sister, and you and Evander were meant to be part of this pack, Alexander. Why else would we have ended up on Hardin's property? Maybe our place in life all along was to be here with all of these amazing people we now call our family. He smiled and said,

"I think you are right, Wisteria. I don't think we would end up in the same exact place and found by the same people if we weren't meant to be here. We are lucky to have such an amazing pack welcome us Rogues as part of their family."
