NOLAN POV

I opened the door and took on the sweet scent of my home.

Home sweet home.

Unlike other days, my house today isn't quiet rather noisy. I walked into the living room and saw the whole place was scattered with paper bags, clothes, toys, shoes and so on.

The moment I walked in, everyone was silent as they look at me. My eyes moved to Jade who gave me a wide smile, then to Jayden who gave me a small smile then to my mate who looked away avoiding my eyes then they selected on my mother who gave me a wink.

“Welcome back son. I was so bored so I decided to go for shopping with the kids.” she said.

“I see. I hope you all had fun?” I asked.

“Yes we did. Come check out my new dolls uncle Nolan.” Jade said as she walked to me and dragged me to sit down.

Although I was so tired and exhausted, I just couldn't say no to her. I sat down and watched as they kept showing me their toys and their clothes.

There was a knock on the door before it opened.

“Here you are woman. I have been looking everywhere for you. Don't you think it's time for you to come back home? This isn't your home incase you have forgotten. Now let's get going and leave the kids alone.” my dad said as he walked in.

“But honey I am not done playing with the kids yet. I still need time to bond with them.” my mum whined.

“You can continue bonding with them tomorrow. For now allow them to rest.” he said to her.

She looked at me with a sad face but I turned to look at my mate who was looking at her with a small smile on her face.

“Fine I will go. My grandkids come give me a hug. Don't you worry, grandma will come back to take you out on a fun ride okay?” she smiled.

Both Jade and Jayden ran to hug her.

“Tell her thank you once again for everything she bought for you.” my mate said.

I felt so much joy when I heard her voice.

“Thank you grandma.” both Jade and Jayden said together.

“You are welcome my babies.” my mum said before she left with my dad.

“Jade, Jayden pack your things to the room.” my mate said.

They obeyed her leaving just the both of us in silence alone.

I decided to start a conversation with her.

“How did your day go?”

She looked down not meeting my eyes. I really hate it when she does that. We are equals so she should look me in the eyes. I want to see her beautiful eyes.

“It was fine thanks for asking.” she answered.

“Hope you have had something to eat this evening?” I asked.

“Yes I did. Allison got us something to eat.” she replied.

I was about to say something when my stomach decided to make the loudest growl ever.

She raised her head to look at me before looking at my tummy.

“This so embarrassing.” I muttered but seeing her lips move up by this side tells me she heard what I said.

“If you don't mind, I can prepare something for you to eat.” she said.

“No don't worry. I won't allow my guest cook for me.” I declined.

“Please allow me to do this maybe I will feel better in staying her at your place for free.” She said.

I wanted to still decline but I realized there is no way I can tell her no.

By doing this, maybe we can bond better.
