NOLAN POV
“Mum can you please convince Ocean not to do this? She doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. There is time to change her mind. It's never too late to stop right now.” I said to my mum, feeling so scared for my mate.
Today is the day I dread. I have heard sleepless nights because of this day. I haven't been myself since she accepted the challenge. I have been trying to convince her to change her mind, but she has refused.
I knew she was stubborn when I first saw her, but I never knew she was this stubborn. It is on another level. I couldn't change her mind.
She has made up her mind to do this, and she doesn't want to back down.
“Ocean dear, listen to him. You just have an hour to change your mind. The pack members here can be really aggressive and cruel. They may have dangerous tricks to end your life. If not for us, at least think about your children. They need their mother. You can't just leave them like that. Please consider them and think about them also.” My mum begged her.
“Allison the main reason I am doing this is also because of my children. I want to be able to look them in the face, and also, I don't want people to look down on them in the future. Don't worry, I will never let them kill me.” she said.
I love how bold she is, but still, I don't want her to go ahead with this.
Jade and Jayden ran to her and hugged her. Nataila was standing behind.
“Mummy you are going to win, right?” Jade asked, looking at her.
“Of course, baby. Mummy is going to win, and she will come back to you both. You know I can't leave without you both.” Ocean replied and smiled as she hugged them tightly.
“Mummy promise me that you won't let her injure you badly?” Jayden asked, looking so serious.
“I promise you love that I will protect myself.” she smiled at him.
I decided to hold onto her promise also.
My dad worked in and stood beside my mum holding her waist.
“Ocean you are a brave woman, and I am definitely sure you are going to win. You will prove to everyone that you are the rightful luna, and they will regret ever doubting you. I am personally proud of you.” he said to her.
She stood up and bowed her head to him.
Julian ran in.
“It is time now. We need to leave.”.he announced.
I turned to my sister.
“Nat you will be staying with the kids. What over them well and don't allow them to leave the house.” I told her.
“Roger that big brother.” she replied.
I turned to see Ocean kissing her children and talking to them.
With sad eyes, she walked out of the house.
We were all beside her.
We got to the venue, and it was already crowded.
I wasn't the one who was fighting, yet I feel so nervous. My wolf was also nervous as well.
Ocean turned and walked to me.
“Can I talk to you for a moment?” she asked.
I nodded, and we walked to a quiet area where it was just the both of us.
“Okay first of all, I want to say thank you for accepting my children and I. I am happy that my kids have a permanent roof over their heads. Please, in case anything happens to me, please, I put my kids in your hands. Take care of them for me.” she said.
“No don't say that. Nothing is going to happen to you. Yes, I know I am scared but I am sure you will win because you are a strong Ocean.” I told her.
She smiled, making me smile.
“If I win this, that means I am going to accept the luna position. I will also accept you as my mate. Will you be ready to take me the way I am?” she asked, still smiling.
I froze because I wasn't expecting that. She will finally accept me.
“Yes I will, and I will show you so much love.” I said to her.
She smiled and hugged me, which came as a surprise to me. I recovered and hugged her back as I took in her scent.
I let her go when I heard them calling her inside.
“You can do this, love.” I said to her.
With a heavy heart, I watched as she walked away.
