Dr Fulcrum came bursting into the room with two nurses in white uniforms bustling in after him. I was not too out of it to protest to more people knowing about me.
“That’s four more,” I mumbled, feeling worried.
The scratches on my back were searing but they were nothing compared to what Stella and Ruby might do if they discovered I was alive.
“What?” Asked Sterling, his eyebrows knitting together. “What do you mean?” He asked, cupping my face in his warm rough palms.
We locked eyes.
“The two nurses and the two guards. Four more people know I’m alive,” I said quietly, wincing as Dr Fulcrum’s nurses cut the back of the cotton tee shirt off of me.
