Chapter 5

Hades POV

"Well, I am glad that one of you is happy to see me," I say with a chuckle as I walk further into Asmodeus's office. Asmodeus whips his gaze to me, but the anger swirling in his eyes has me stopping. "What did I just walk into?"

"Don't worry.." Lilith starts to say, only to be cut off.

"DID YOU KNOW?"

Looking confused, I just stare at Asmodeus like he lost his mind. "Did I know what? What am I missing?" At the same time, Lilith says, "He didn't know."

Okay, what the f**k did I not know? Now, I am starting to get pissed.

"Why are you here?" Amsodeus's sharp tone has me narrowing my eyes. What does he think I know?

"I am here because I always visit. Dude, it has been 2 months since I last stayed, so why are you acting like this?" I look over to Lilith, hoping that she has some answers. Only she just smiles at me.

"Are you here because of my wife?"

Okayyy, now I'm starting to get pissed off. "What the f*ck is your problem, bro? Why are you coming at me like this?"

"Asmodeus, he doesn't know. So, stop being a d**k to your brother."

"What did you do? Did you blame me for something again?" I question Lilith with the tilt of my head. This has happened before. She always blames things on me, like a real sister would. Which warms my cold, dead heart, but I will never tell her that.

Laughing, Lilith pushes herself off of Asmodeus's desk before making her way over to me. "It is good to see you, brother."

Smiling, I wrap her in a hug while pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head. "Good to see you too, sis."

Letting go of each other, she walks out of the room, making sure to close the door behind her. I stare at my brother for a second. He shakes his head before picking up his office chair and pulling out his liquor and two glasses. While pouring, I take a seat in front of his desk before accepting the drink he hands me. Taking a sip, I swirl the liquid around before hardening my eyes as I look at my brother.

"So, want to tell me what that was all about?"

Shaking his head, he cruses softly before downing his drink. "Apparently, you have a mate."

I freeze. I know I didn't hear that right. That is not possible…

"Don't joke about things like that, brother." My voice is hard, with hurt softly lacing it. We both know getting a mate will never happen for me.

"I would never lie to you, and you know this." Asmodeus gives me a hard stare that shows me he isn't lying. Before I can even open my mouth, he beats me to it. "Apparently, Lilith's gut is telling her you have one, and her gut has never been wrong before."

Not believing my ears, I down my drink. "You and Lilith know that is not possible."

"My wife doesn't get things, brother. And she would never joke about something like this. She knows how much you want a mate for your own.."

Slamming my hand down on his desk, he stops talking while looking at me. "Do. Not. Give. Me. Hope."

"Brother, I promise you that this isn't…"

"You and I both know what the rules are. I am forced to live this life alone, a curse for being the way I am. I know this, you know this, and your wife knows this. My mom knew this when she asked your dad for help. You f*cking held me as I broke down when they both told me that I would never get to experience having someone, so stop."

"Hades." Whirling around, I see Lilith standing in the open doorway. When did she get here? "There is someone that I want you to meet, seeing as you will be staying across the hall from her." Her? Tilting my head to the side, I lift my eyebrows in question. Stepping into the office, Lilith moves to the left, which shows a small woman who has me stumbling on my feet. "This is Dola, my granddaughter."

"Your eyes…" Are the only thing I hear from the beauty before I portal out of the office.

This cannot be happening. I have a mate? How is this possible?

I feel like I cannot breathe. Something that I have hoped for, dreamed of having, is becoming a reality. Or am I dreaming?

Dropping to my knees, I try to catch my breath when I feel arms go around me. "It is okay, brother. I know this is overwhelming for you. But you need to pull yourself together. You have a mate."

I have a mate… and I just portaled away from her. f**k.

Snapping my fingers, I portal Asmodeus and I back to his office where Lilith and my mate are waiting. They are sitting on the couch when I walk through. My eyes snap to Dola which causes me to freeze in place.

She is so f*cking beautiful. Long brown hair that looks like waves, tannish white skin that looks so damn soft, and her eyes… Her beautiful green eyes that just drag me in. Her face is small and round, but her lips look so lush that I want to sink my teeth in them. Moving my eyes down, I take in her body and what a f*cking body it is. I can tell that she has some curves and a little stomach, which makes my c**k take notice. F*cking she is like a f*cking peach that I just want to sink my teeth before I drink up all of her juices. I have never seen a more perfect f*cking being in all my life.

Finally getting my legs to move, I slowly walk over to her before dropping to my knees right in front of her. I slowly bring my hands up to cup her face. Her skin is so warm and soft.

"I never thought that I would be blessed with a mate. I was told that I would have to walk this earth alone because of this being that I am, but…here you are. Breaking all the rules that were supposed to keep me in torment. I cannot believe that I was blessed with such a perfect mate."
