You are going to Derema

1872 Words
In Senjira, Seduralto was in the guild with worry on her face. She was thinking about her father, Victicus who had been gone for more than a year and still had not returned. It was not the first time that he had done this, but what worried her the most was what him not coming back for so long meant. A Beast Warrior going on the hunt for years was keen to a Mage closing himself in his Mage Tower for years, but the issue for Beast Warriors was that they were on a hunt so they could evolve, while mages just had to stay in their tower, experiment while they cultivated so to reach a higher circle of power. Victicus was hunting something dangerous and after taking so long to come back, rumors were going around that he was dead. It was not good for the guild, let alone Senjira and not to mention the Kingdom. She had been dealing with so many political issues that they were giving her a headache. She went out of her office and into the guildhall only to find Solmo and Tsenuyi harassing Sazi for requests. As soon as they saw Seduralto, they acted like they were innocent and not just harassing a child just then. She continued looking at them and they did not waste any time. The two ran out of the guild like scared rats, afraid that she would unleash the Berserker on them again. “I swear, those two...... Ever since they evolved, they have been even more of a menace. Are you alright, Sazi?” She said as she looked at the cute little girl who was now looking like she belonged, unlike when she first took over after Alati died a year ago. “They are always broke. If I gave them any more requests for them to do, they might finish them all. It is like they are stronger than the old mages who have been in the circle of power that they have just reached.” Sazi said, unfazed by the two. “Well, they are Beast Warriors after all. They are always broke.” Seduralto said, making Sazi laugh at the fact that seemed to be true now knowing how the two Beast Warriors they had in the guild acted. Seduralto looked at the seemingly now mature child and could not help but think she was meant for the job after how she had outdone herself over the past year. “I shall be back. I need a cold one.” She said as she left. It was still morning but the Mystic was already full. The scorching heat of the desert meant that the adventurers would all wake up to a cold one so as to cool themselves. “Ye!!!! Guild Master!!!” They all said when she came in, even the normal people who were drinking with them yelled. “How many times am I going to tell you that I am not the Guild Master yet?! My father is still the Guild Master!” She yelled only for her complaint to reach deaf ears. “Yey!!!!” They all cheered on like they were expecting her to say that. She went to the counter fuming. “When are you going to give it up? It seems to me that no matter if your father is back or not, you will always be their Guild Master as after all, you are next in line.” A girl said. She was the same age as Sazi was. It was Sali and she too had grown a little. She poured her a drink and Seduralto gulped it down in one go. “I just do not like them calling me that when there are these rumors about my father going around.” She said as she asked for another one. “Well, you are a Fourth Circle mage now. Why don’t we just go kill every single last one of those bastads who started such a rumor?” A woman said and went out of the kitchen. It was Sisilana and she was holding her infamous pan in her hand. As soon as the others saw her, the whole Mystic went quiet for a moment. “Awe, carry on.” She said, like she was annoyed by their behavior. The ones who were eating and drinking there were just relieved that no one was in trouble and was about to receive the Sisilana treatment. Others laughed nervously as they remembered the horrors of that pan, one which Falgur had experienced. “Then you would have us go against all the kingdoms and guilds?” Seldurato said playfully. “So long as those above kingdoms do not get involved.” Sisilala said with a devilish but playful smile. Seduralto did not know whether she was serious or not, but one thing was for sure, she and her father would definitely do that if there was ever a need to do so. Sisilana gestured for her to go into the kitchen with her after their little conversation ad she did so, leaving Sali wondering what kind of a conversation she had just witnessed. ’I am too young to be thinking of such things.’ She said as she tried her best to erase any trace of the conversation in her head and went back to serving the people that were there. “I just got hold of some information that is of interest.” Sisilana said. Seduralto was not surprised at her words as she had her own means of acquiring information. She was a Dark Witch after all. “In Deserters, one of the towns in Derema there seems to have been a string of murders over the past year.” Salilana said while frying a piece of meat and using her long hair, stirring other pots and doing other tasks. Seduralto was already used to this scene and only focused on what she was saying. The problem was that they lived in the Mages World and that was a common occurrence as Dark Witches would do such things, but she then had a thought. “The Luminexis?” She asked, hoping that it was news pertaining to them, but Sisilana shook her head, disappointing her. “They have been keeping the murders quiet and since it was a busy town, but with not that many people, they could not identify the victims and let their family members know, so news about the killings did not leak out as much.” She said as she continued cooking. “I would have let it be but there was something that picked my interest about the victims during the first 6 months of the murders.” She continued. “They had the very same wounds as the townsfolks that we found killed more than a year ago when thereafter we spotted two individuals with beast-like auras carrying coffins while walking in the desert.” The words surprised Selduralto. “Awe, such luck…” She said, now more than interested, but then got hold of herself as she remembered something. “Yes, such luck. The only problem is that we can’t let anyone go and check it out since we might be attacked at any time. But, do not worry. It seems that Patago, the Mage of Deserters has sent his disciples to go see what is causing all these killings and in such a way.” Sisilana said. “How regrettable. It is just like when we received the location of a Luminexis branch and could not act because of everyone’s greedy, cowardly eyes on use.” She said with spite in her voice. She was tired of being tied down just because her father’s fate was unknown to the world. Because of this, she sometimes hated his strength and just thought that if he was just an ordinary Beast Warrior then they would not be in this situation. Then again, there was her family’s secret that they had been protecting for longer than when Senjira was first built. One that Salina, the Berserker of Senjira was taking full advantage of. Well, some would call her the princess of Senjira until they saw her bad side. “One of them is a Beast Warrior. Axal, the one who Victicus was the only one he approved of during that meeting.” Sisilana said and Seduralto remembered that Beast Warrior. That was when she thought of something. “We cannot just sit by and let our enemies control our actions.” She said with determination, making Sisilana stop her cooking for a moment. “I have got two troublesome men who are also looking to show the new power that they have gained after evolving.” She said and Sisilana knew who she was talking about as she too was constantly dealing with them. Their hunger after coming back from the Trial Forest and evolving had almost finished all of the beast meat in her kitchen. “With Silana, Zali, Exzola and Algazuma, we can still handle ourselves if something happens. Algazuma and Zali are guarding the Teleportation station after all.” She said, noticing that every time she mentioned Algazuma she could practically see her eyes sparkle like a girl in love. Sisilana being as old as she was, Seduralto wanted to quickly get that image out of her head. She did not know why they were still keeping their relationship a secret from Sali and Salina as the girls were not stupid. ‘Old love. It can be dumb sometimes.’ She thought as she left. She got back into her office now in a different mood. As soon as she sat down, Solmo and Tsenuyi came in like they had been could to the headmaster’s office after doing something wrong. Sazi had located them and told them that Seduralto wanted to see them. Seduralto, seeing the two, she inwardly smiled. Them, being Beast Warriors like her father made her appreciate him more for not being even 1% like the two. “Boys, you are going to Derema.” She said, hoping to not regret her decision knowing what a mess these two will make over there, but that was just what she wanted, so to let everyone know that they were not held up in their little town like scared little dogs that would be pushed around. After telling them what she expected from them and their reward, the two went out the door like bloodhounds having smiled the scent of prey. After they left, he had a thought. “Wait, isn’t he about to receive his Base Core and become a Beast Warrior?” She said out loud as she remembered a boy. It was Falgur and she did not know why she thought of him first rather than Sheyken. ‘Just what kind of trouble are those two going to get themselves in too again?’ She thought after remembering the incident in which they killed The Lord of Belema’s cousin, Andros Arcem, and all his family after he stole from Sheyken. She could not wait to see what kind of Beast Warriors they become after having their cores.
