4. Crimson Moon Pack

2683 Words
Grant I had all of my clothes packed and I was ready to leave Hunter’s Moon with my mom. I told dad, the twins and Jaxson bye at the house with big tight hugs before I walked next door. I knocked on Rambo and Sage’s door. Sage came to the door and opened it a short while after I knocked. I smiled warmly at her and said, “I came to say bye to everyone.” She nodded her head and I saw her eyes dull as she called for Rambo. She stepped out of the house and gave me a hug before saying, “I hope you have safe travels and a great adventure ahead of you.” “Thank you. I’m sure it will be great,” I said with a smile. She let go of me and Rambo stepped out to shake my hand, telling me, “be safe out there and if you need anything just call.” “Thank you,” I told him with a nod. “You’re welcome.” “Where's Madison?” I asked. “She ran off this morning. I haven’t been able to find her,” Sage said with a pained expression on her face. I practically hung my head at the news. I didn’t have time to go looking for her but I wanted to say goodbye. I swallowed my frustration and nodded my head before turning to walk to the packhouse to grab my stuff and put it in the pack vehicle. Eric helped me bring my stuff down from my room and we loaded up the vehicle. I told him, “Thanks.” “No problem. Are you ready for this?” “Yes and no.” He chuckled at me and said, “You’ll be fine. Out of all of us, I have more faith in you.” “How touching,” I said, putting my hand over my heart. “f**k off with that s**t,” he said, pushing me. I laughed along with him before we embraced each other in a strong hug. “Be safe out there and when you need something don’t be too proud to ask for it. I’m here for you,” Eric told me. “I know. Thank you.” “Any time,” he told me as we released each other. We shook hands and I said, “I’ll see you soon.” “Later bro.” Eric turned to walk off and I heard mom start the vehicle. She was already in the front seat waiting for me but I wasn’t ready to leave yet. I needed to see Madison one more time. I scanned the area for her but I didn’t see her. I looked at my feet and huffed in irritation. I walked around to the passenger side of the vehicle to get in, reluctantly dragging my feet with each step. I opened the door and looked around once more. That’s when I saw her running towards me. I smiled and closed the door to step away from the vehicle. I stepped towards Madison and she crashed into me. My arms wrapped around her as she wrapped around me. I held her tightly to me and I felt her crying in my arms. I hated this. She had been crying over me way too much. “Like I said before, this isn’t goodbye. I’ll be back,” I told her softly. “You better. If not, I will hunt your ass down and give you a piece of my mind,” she said firmly as she dried up her tears. I chuckled while still holding her. A hug didn’t seem like a good enough goodbye. I wanted desperately to kiss her and leave my imprint on her but I couldn't. I wouldn't know if she was mine for a little over a year. A tight hug would have to do for now. “I’ll be back Mads. I'm not saying bye. So I’ll see you later.” “I’ll be here. I’ll see you when you come back,” she said while sniffing the last of her tears away. I’m not sure how long we stood there for, but I finally released her and turned to get in the vehicle with my mom, who was sitting there watching us with a smile on her face. I climbed in and mom drove off without saying a word. I watched in the rearview mirror as Madison and Hunter’s Moon pack faded behind us. Watching that just fueled my fire to get this started. The faster I did this, it made the day I would come back home, come that much sooner. The plane ride with mom was peaceful as we both spent time drawing and showing off our skills to one another. I loved having this in common with her and I loved that we shared this with aunt Paris too. When we arrived in Montana, there was a vehicle waiting there for us. We got in and the warriors took us to Crimson Moon. We were taken to the packhouse and shown inside. An omega was waiting to show me to my room while mom went down the hall to Alpha Grayson’s office. I was taken to a room on the second floor. It was the same size as my room back home. I placed my things down and changed into training clothes. I knew what to expect here, so I was going to give everything my all. When I was done, I went back downstairs and found mom there waiting for me at the front door. “I’ll walk with you out to the training field before I leave,” she told me. I nodded my head and we walked outside. We walked the length of the training field to find former Alpha Curt training with Grayson and a pretty she-wolf sitting close by watching them. As soon as we walked up, they stopped their training session to greet us. I shook both Grayson and Curt’s hands before the she-wolf got up and came over. Grayson wrapped his arm around her and said, “this is my mate and Luna, Lysandra.” I offered her my hand and she took it to shake as I said, “Nice to meet you, I’m Grant.” “It’s good to meet you too,” she told me with a sweet smile. I turned my attention to everyone else. Mom talked with Grayson and Curt briefly while I observed the warriors around us in their training sessions. Crimson Moon produced the strongest warriors, so being here to train with their Alpha and former Alpha should be seen as an honor. When mom was done talking, she got my attention and said, “I’ll be back in two weeks when your training is over.” “Alright. I’ll see you then,” I told her. “Ok. Behave,” she said. I looked at her like she was crazy and said, “Do I have to remind you that I’m the good one out of the group?” She tilted her head to the side and agreed with me, then said, “then tell Skoll to behave.” “That is more of an accurate statement that he needs to follow.” “You can both f**k off,” I heard Skoll say before he sat back to watch. Mom nodded her head and hugged me before she told everyone goodbye and left to go back home. I was now all Curt’s for two weeks. Goddess help me. “How has your training at home been going for you?” Curt asked with a stoic look on his face. “Good. Not as challenging as I would like, but I’m sure I’ll get that here.” “Yeah, you will,” Curt said with a nod, then turned to Grayson, “you’re training him first so I can assess what needs to happen.” “Like always. I’m tired after training with you and you push me to train even more,” Grayson said in irritation. “Yep,” Curt remarked. I tried to stifle a smirk but I couldn’t. Lysandra went to sit down to watch once more. Curt stepped to the side while Grayson and I started a training session. We started grappling and I found that Grayson was a little harder to overpower than dad or Eric, but I kept beating his ass with each new start. Maybe it was because he was tired. Suddenly, I heard Curt say in a deep, commanding voice, “give him everything you’ve got, Grayson. He’s not Eric.” “I am!” Grayson said, struggling to overpower me. Soon after that, Curt called our session to an end. I let Grayson up and we shook hands. He walked away and took a seat with Lysandra. He drank some water and I was handed a cold water bottle. I drank the water and waited for further instructions. “You’re only eighteen and you're stronger than a seasoned Lycan warrior. Do you even know how strong you are?” Curt asked me. I shook my head and waited to see what he would say. “Then what we will do is try and find the extent of your strength and teach you all the techniques we know. It’s going to be an interesting two weeks, pup,” Curt told me. I was ready for it. I wanted to see just how strong I was and what I was really capable of doing. We trained in human, wolf and Lycan form all day. Curt was astonished by me in every form. He had questions that I didn’t know the answers to. Like why was I so strong, why was Wraith a little bigger than other Alpha’s, and why was my Lycan so powerful. Skoll had beaten Ares and Thrax in a session against both of them. I was told that it was unheard of for a Lycan to be that strong, but yet here I was. Curt was desperately trying to figure me out and I honestly wanted him to so he could tell me the answers to those questions. Maybe I would find them over the two weeks I was here and maybe I would find them over my travels. Who knows? At the end of the day, we went to the packhouse dining hall to eat dinner. We had pasta with buffalo meat sauce and garlic bread. It was really good. When dinner was over, Curt told me to meet him in the morning early on the training field. I let him know I would be there. He went home and I went up to my room to shower the sweat off of me. When I was done and getting ready to relax, I got my phone out. I texted Eric and Jaxson in our group messages to let them know that everything was going good here with my training. I also texted Madison to see how her day went. “What did you get to do today?” I asked her. “I trained with Logan and my dad, then spent some time with my mom.” “That sounds nice. Did you and your mom relax?” “Yeah, she got me hooked on a new show.” “Which one?” I asked, so maybe I could watch it with her as I traveled. “Haunting of Hill House.” “Creepy.” That’s a no. I hated that show. “Lol yeah, but so good!” “Well, I’m happy that your day went good.” “It did go good. How was your first day at Crimson Moon?” “It was really good. I found out that I’m stronger than any other Lycan bearer that former Alpha Curt has come across.” “That’s insane!” “Right. I kind of feel like there’s something wrong with me because I’m so strong.” “There’s nothing wrong with you.” “Thanks for the vote of confidence, Mads.” “That’s what best friends are for.” We kept talking until I was tired and needed to sleep. Everyday went like this one. I would train all day, then I would text everyone at night while I was relaxing. It was the only time that I got to talk to anyone. It was honestly nice to focus so much on my training and try to learn about myself, Wraith and Skoll. ~ When my two weeks were over, mom showed up at Crimson Moon while I was training in my last session with Curt and Grayson. She walked onto the field and stood with Lysandra while she watched us train. I learned a lot about my strength while I was here. There was my normal strength and then there was my angry strength that I learned to tap into when I needed. It was insane how much I could do and take from others. As our training session came to an end, we all stopped to breathe and drink water. When I was done, I grabbed my shirt and smiled at mom. She smiled back as we got ready to leave the training field. All of us walked to the packhouse while listening to mom and Curt talk. “Why did you warn me about him before he got here?” Curt asked. “What are you talking about?” mom asked him. “Oh, don’t you dare play dumb with me, little one,” Curt said in frustration. Mom huffed and said, “this is about his strength.” “Yes.” “I don’t know why he has it, he just does.” “It would have been nice to have a warning though,” Curt said. “Would you have believed me if I said anything?” “Good point,” Curt huffed. Once we were inside, I went up to my room to get clean and pack my things while she talked with Curt and Grayson downstairs. When I was done, I carried my things down and met mom at the bottom of the stairs. We walked out of the packhouse after telling everyone goodbye. Mom showed me to a green SUV that was parked outside the packhouse door. She opened the back and I put my bags in it. Mom then handed me the keys with a big smile on her face while asking, “can you drive me to the airport in your new vehicle?” I smiled brightly at her and wrapped her up in a hug while saying, “thank you.” “You’re welcome.” We got into the vehicle and I drove mom to the airport. When we got there, mom pulled out a wallet from the glove box and handed it to me. I took it and looked at her with frowned eyebrows, wondering what was all in there. “This is yours. It has a credit card in it for your traveling, an ID that says your twenty-one and some cash. In the center console you will find your passport for when you leave the country. You will need to use the human airlines like your uncle Sean did.” “Thank you so much mom.” “You’re welcome, baby. I’m so proud of you and I can’t wait to see what you build after your adventures. Remember that if you need anything, all you have to do is tell us,” mom said as she fought the urge to cry. “I will mom,” I told her with a nod. She leaned over the console and hugged me tightly before kissing my cheek. She released me and then got out of the vehicle. I watched as mom walked to the Hunters Moon jet and got on. I waited until after they took off to start my adventure. It was time to visit all the packs, starting with Blue Moon in Washington State.
