Maddox's POV
I walk out of the shower to see Zelda still sitting by the window and staring at the sky. I can't blame her. Today is the day Sabina is going to start painting or drawing.. whatever the term is. She told me that it is not a one day thing and she will need a couple of days to finish it. And I happily obliged. Whatever it takes.
Everyone else is downstairs waiting for Zelda and I. But yes, first we need to go for a round of s*x to calm our nerves and then shower and now.. Zelda's nerves are still there. Jumping all over.
I sit beside her and hold her hand. Her breath is so ragged. I squeeze her hand slightly as an assurance and she finally looks at me. She looks like she wants to say so much but yet, doesn't have a clue on how to say it.
"Is-"
"Yes," I cut her off and she gives me a sad smile, "everything is going to be okay"
She nods and I place a kiss on her forehead. We both eventually dress up and walk downstairs to find everyone just chit chatting. They all stand up since I am now the King and even my family will have to respect my presence.
No one is in the mood for breakfast today so we head directly to the clearing where this is taking place. Ian already made sure there is everything to make Sabina feel comfortable.
Blair and my dad start describing the facial features that they know of Queen Jacqueline. Blonde hair and striking brown eyes, they said. I look at Zelda, and now I see why I always wondered why she had blonde hair when Steve, Candice and Ophelia had brown. She doesn't belong to that family.
Both my dad and Blair then go on with describing her and I see that Zelda is a blend of her mom and dad probably. She doesn't look a lot like her mom, but still does. In a way. Damn only if my memory could work right now!
Zelda holds my hand very tight as we look at Sabina trying to take it from there.
"I don't know. I don't have a great feeling" she says.
"It's okay. And it makes sense as to why you feel that way. But trust me, everything will fall into place" I tell her and kiss the back of her hand.
"I really hope so. Can't wait to see my birth mother" she whispers.
We all stay silent, trying to give some peace to Sabina since she is the one who needs to focus. I don't know why but slowly, the unsettling feeling from Zelda started to creep up to me as well.
Ajax tries to wiggle inside and shake that feeling off but it's still there. I looked around trying to see if there was a potential threat but I could see nothing.
I sit straight again but in the span of a second, so much is turned upside down. An arrow from some corner came flying and hit my dad in his heart. With the wolfsbane and the silver, he is instantly on the ground and puking blood.
Everything around me moves in slow motion and I can feel my entire world turn upside down.
No no no no no. We started talking just recently in the last twenty five years. I have so much to tell my dad. This cannot be happening right now.
I close my eyes hoping that when I open this would fade away like the dream it is.
"Maddox!!" I hear my sister's loud cry and open my eyes to see that this is not a dream but real.
And my father is not puking blood anymore. He is just laying on the ground, with his life totally drained out from him.
