"You did what?!" Hayes exclaimed, his eyes wide in shock. "What are we going to do now?"
"I don't know!" His father yelled at him, his eyes gleaming in fear as well as frustration.
"I can't believe this," Hayes shook his head. "Not only did you cheat on Mom, you turned a human, then tried to kill her, and then went and told your ex girlfriend about it. Amazing, Dad." His eyes began glowing as well.
"All three of us know why I'm with your mother," Walter replied. "Unfortunately, it's not possible for us to reject mates. I'd go cuckoo if she wouldn't be with me on a full moon night, and then my pack members would kill me. The sooner you understand this, the better it'll be for you too! You'll be the same, Son. Just like me," he smiled, aggravating Hayes further.
"I am nothing like you!" Hayes yelled, pushing his father by his chest. Walter stumbled backwards, but before any of them could do anything further, Selene stepped in between them.
"Stop it, both of you!" She said sternly, her own eyes glowing as well. Hayes immediately stepped back, his gaze on the floor in respect. Walter, on the other hand, chuckled.
"It's been a while since I've seen you angry," Walter smirked, folding his arms across his chest. Selene rolled her eyes, taking a deep breath to calm herself down.
"We shouldn't be fighting each other right now. We should be thinking of a solution to this problem," she said, looking at both of them turn by turn.
"There's no solution to this," Walter laughed. "We either run or we die. You know how the Alpha is."
"I am not leaving," Hayes stated. "I'm not gonna run from my problems."
"Then, my stupid son, you're gonna be executed," Walter replied.
"You will be executed, not us. So you run," Hayes replied, stepping towards him.
Walter stared at him silently, before he nodded his head.
"So you want me to just, run off, leaving my mate here? So what? We both can die in different places?" He asked sarcastically.
"Visit on full moons or something. But just leave," Hayes replied.
"You know they'll send someone to hunt and kill me. What if they do? Your sweet mother will die as well. I'm sure you're aware of that," Walter retorted.
"Man, for once, do something for your family!" Hayes yelled, trying to attack his father once again, but Selene stepped in between.
"Hayes," she placed her hands on his chest. "Calm down. There's no point in fighting. I hate to say this, but your father is right. I will have to leave with him, which means you're coming too."
"What?" Hayes frowned, looking down at his mother in shock. "You're asking me to run with you guys? To leave Rose behind?"
"We don't have any other option, my love," Selene replied, cupping his cheeks with her hands. "Staying here would be welcoming death. That too for your father's crime. They'll kill you too. I know how the Alpha is."
"He won't," Hayes shook his head, gently removing his mother's hands from his face. "I'll talk to Rose about it. She'll talk to her father. He can't do this."
"She won't," Walter chuckled. "I can't believe you think she'll go against her father for you."
"She will!" Hayes replied with determination.
"I can write this with my blood, that Rose, will not stand up to her father for you. I know that girl, Hayes. And I know her father. The Alpha doesn't really give a s**t about her. If he did, you think he'd be so chill with you having s*x with her? When she's not even your mate?" Walter asked, and Hayes was left dumbfounded. "On top of that, she's a human being. A weak wretched human, who can't even fight alongside you. You think she'll protect you? You're my son, Hayes. Don't tell me I raised such a big idiot."
"Just shut up!" Hayes snapped. "You know nothing about me, and you know nothing about Rose. I'm gonna go talk to her right now. And if she thinks she can't stand up to her father, she's coming with us," he announced, stepping towards the door. Walter instantly moved to stand in his way.
"You're not going anywhere," he stated.
"Get out of my way, Father," Hayes said seriously, his eyes flashing blue.
"I said, you're not leaving," Walter replied, his eyes gleaming as well.
"Alright," Hayes nodded. "You left me no choice." Hayes caught hold of his father's collar, and threw him to the side of the room, making him crash against a table and fall to the ground.
"Walter!" Selene gasped, and rushed to him, while Hayes stomped out of the room.
"Are you okay?" Selene asked, her eyebrows knitted together in concern.
"I'm fine," Walter replied, rolling his eyes, as he wiped away the blood from his lip. "He's going to get us killed."
"You leave. I'll find you. Go, Walter, save yourself," Selene suggested, taking his hands into hers. Walter stood up, his eyes stuck on the door of the room.
"I'm not leaving without you guys," he shook his head.
"Walter it's fine, just go," Selene begged, her heart hammering in her chest.
"I'm not leaving my family behind," Walter stated, now looking into her eyes.
Selene sighed, not knowing what to say.

"Rose?" Hayes knocked on the door of her room, anxiously waiting for her to reply. He knew she was inside, he could hear her breathing on the opposite side of the door. "Rose?" He repeated, frowning.
"Yeah?" She replied softly.
"Open the door. I need to talk to you," Hayes replied, looking around to see if anything seemed wrong.
He heard her shuffle, before she opened the door for him, and he instantly barged in, closing the door behind him and locking it.
"What's wrong?" Rose frowned, noticing his uneasy posture.
Hayes took a deep breath, before taking her hands in his. "I need your help," he blurted, and Rose's frown deepened.
"With what?" She asked, sniffing, as her nose was still runny from when she had cried because of Monica's words.
"My father has done something terrible. He thinks he'll be executed for it. I can't let that happen, Rose. My mother will die too. She's innocent. Please, you have to talk to him," Hayes explained, and Rose's eyes widened.
"What? What has he done?" She asked, instinctively taking a small step away from him.
"He... He turned a human," Hayes replied, his eyes on the ground in shame. Rose took her hands away from his, and took a few steps back, her eyes almost bulging out of her sockets, her mouth agape.
"Why would he do that?" She asked in disbelief, merely being able to whisper.
"Because he's a jerk!" Hayes replied, a tear escaping his now glowing eyes. "I can't let my mother suffer because of him. Talk to your father, please!"
Rose gulped, blinking, as she looked away from him. Her mind was racing with a million questions, and so was her heart. But for some reason, everytime she tried to weigh her options, Monica's words replayed in her mind.
"You'll be here, like his side chick, standing up for him, doing everything you can for him. Just for him to leave you at the end, so tragic."
"Rose?" Hayes asked again, stepping towards her.
"I... I can't," she whispered softly, as a tear escaped her eye.
"What?" Hayes frowned. "Come on, Rose. He's your dad. Talk to him, please. For me."
"You don't understand," she shook her head, mindlessly taking another step away from him. "He won't listen. He doesn't care. You know how he is about his principles and s**t. He's never gonna listen to me, and I can't go against him. I can't fight him, Hayes."
"Maybe you could threaten to leave or something, come on, Rose. Please. Help me out," Hayes begged, as a second tear escaped his eye.
"I'm... I'm not a werewolf like you Hayes. If I stand up for you now, firstly there won't be any use. And secondly, after everything is over, my life in this pack will become hell. I can't keep messing with werewolves for you. I won't have anywhere else to go, Hayes. My father is all I have left, if I go against him for you, he'll kill you, and then he'll hate me forever. I-I can't do this," she shook her head.
It took a few seconds for Hayes to let her words sink into his mind. I'm not a werewolf like you. I can't keep messing with werewolves for you.
He slowly nodded, blinking at the ground.
"I..." He gulped. "I understand. I understand your situation. It's okay, my Love," he nodded. "But if you're not gonna talk to him, then your father will kill my family. I'll... I'll have to run. I'll have to leave. Now."
"Be safe," Rose replied, nodding.
"What?" Hayes asked, confused. "You're-you're not going to come with me?"
"You want me to run away with you?" Rose asked, shocked.
"Of course, Rose," Hayes replied, walking up to her. He cupped her cheeks with his hands. "I love you. I don't wanna live without you. Of course I want you to come with me. We need to leave now."
Rose blinked, not knowing what to say.
"Because no matter what you do for him, Hayes will leave you one day. For the one who was created for him." Monica's words once again replayed in her memory, as a few tears escaped her eyes. History would repeat itself. Just as her father left her mother for his mate, Hayes would leave her for someone else. She was certain of it.
"Rose? Come on, what are you thinking?" Hayes asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"I can't," she whispered softly, looking down at the floor. She no longer had the guts to meet his eyes. Eyes, that she knew contained disappointment.
"What?" Hayes frowned, as for the first time ever, he was unsure of whether he had heard someone correctly.
"I can't do this, I'm sorry. I can't run away with you," she whispered, as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"But... Why not?" Hayes asked, slowly removing his hands from her cheeks.
"You'll leave me for your mate," she replied, her voice cracking.
"I won't, Rose. I'd never," he took a deep breath, "I'd never do that to you. Please. Trust me. I love you."
"I'm sorry," she replied, and turned around, not being able to face him anymore. Her throat was burning with sobs, her heart was aching, but she knew she had no other option.
"Okay," Hayes whispered, as he felt a weird ache in his chest. A hot tear rolled down his cheek, and he angrily wiped it away, gulping. "Alright," he nodded.
"No! Let him go!" Hayes heard a familiar voice scream, and his eyes widened. It was his mother. He instantly rushed out of the room, his heart hammering in his chest as he stormed up the stairs. But when he neared his parents' bedroom, he froze in place. The strongest wolves of their pack - Raymond, James and Sadler, were dragging his parents away, while Alpha Craig stood there, silently watching them.
A low growl escaped Hayes's mouth, as he felt his claws surfacing, and his eyes glowing brightly.
"Get your hands off my family," he warned, getting ready to attack.
