Party with strangers

In the evening… Josie's pov *Knock *Knock A maid stepped inside with a handful of dresses. "Good evening, Madam." Her face was new and innocent. "I am your new personal maid, Talia." "Who hired you?" My brows furrowed. "Master Elias." She murmured. "Don't worry about anything, you can always count on me." Her aura and words were way different than Casey. *Chuckles "Thank you so much." My heart blossomed with happiness. "Master Elias wants you to choose from these dresses." She further spoke in her sweet tone. I thought he only had an arrogant side, but it turned out… He knows how to look after a woman. "Sure, let me choose one." A smile flashed on my lips. A few minutes later… A tight fit black dress caught my attention, backless with A line cut on the thigh. "This one is perfect." My lips mumbled. "Let's get you ready then." She took out the dress from the hanger. . . . "You're looking gorgeous!" Talia praised. I saw myself in the mirror and never felt so confident and bold. "But the dress is kinda tight." Words came out of my mouth. "Do you wanna change it?" She suggested. "No, I have to look my best tonight." My mind was undaunted. *** Later at the party… My feet reached the stairs and my eyes observed everyone from the top. "It was just like that day!" My vengeful tone murmured alone. The day when I was thrown out of this mansion, and each one of them enjoyed my misery like it was an entertainment program. *Deep breath All of a sudden, Elias walked over to me and scanned my body from top to bottom. "Nice choice!" He actually complimented my dress. Look who was talking!!! He himself was no less than an attention stealer, handsome in all black. Was his face always this good looking? Or maybe Gabriel kept me too busy to check out other guys. His fingers snapped in front of my eyes and broke my hypnotism. "Still on earth?" His sarcastic tone taunted. "Yes, let's go!" My soul flustered. His gentle grip held my palm and we headed downstairs, together. . . . Everyone's attention shifted to us, and not to mention we were twinning in black. Even Gabriel couldn't take his eyes off me. I felt his gaze on my body, but I just pretended to not notice it. "You're different, Sister!" Ruby approached with a smirk on the corner of his mouth. Elias tugged me closer and pecked my forehead. "But you still look the same, and ordinary!" He scoffingly answered her on my behalf. "Aren't you too protective of your wife?" She twitched her brow. "Why? Are you jealous?" Elias was ready with his comeback. Ruby closed her palm tight and angrily walked out of our sight. *Deep breath "You love her, yet because of me you had to pretend to be rude…" "Yeah, right!" He rolled his eyes. "Josie?" A familiar voice interrupted our conversation. My head turned to the direction of that voice only to see my father. *Deep breath "How are you, my daughter?" Mother was right beside him. Tears filled my eyes but my stubbornness didn't allow them to fall. My family who acted like strangers and sided with Gabriel. My eyes could never forget that sight!!! "I am better, Mother." My soft tone replied. "So now you're married to Elias." Father said with hesitation. "Hmm…Isn't that great?" My words were sarcastic. "Are you still upset about that night?" Father squeezed my palm. "No, of course not!" I pretended to be forgiving, for now. "Oh! Thank God!" Mother smiled. "You really have a big heart." Tears rolled down her eyes. Where were those tears when Gabriel abandoned me? "Excuse us, we have a long list of guests to greet." Elias politely asked. "Uh…Sure!" Father cleared our way. One by one we met each and everyone, and they welcomed us better than my expectations. The party turned out pretty well, I was truly happy to be back. One hour later… Elias was catching up with a few of his friends while a man approached me for a dance. "Shall we?" His palm was waiting for mine. "Uh…Sure!" Since everyone was dancing, I played along. We went to the dance floor and started moving with the music. "What is your name?" "Ryan Matthew!" *And I already know you!" "The whole clan knows me!" My words pointed at the night when Gabriel broke our marriage. "You're looking very hot tonight." His compliment was quite seductive. My lips just smiled. "Why did you marry him?" His question was strange. "What do you mean?" My stiff tone inquired. "He is dangerous, Josie!" It sounded like a warning. Unexpectedly, a strong grip clutched my wrist and pulled me away from Ryan. "Elias?" My eyes widened as they met with his cold gaze. "Why are you dancing with him?" His question startled my soul. "You should only dance with your husband." Having said that, he fiercely glared at Ryan. He walked out of the dance floor and left me alone with Elias. "Why did you do that?" My mind was still perplexed. "Everyone needs to know how much we love each other." His husky voice whispered into my ear. A smirk glinted on the corner of his mouth and we danced till the music ended. "Excuse me!" He headed to the bar. What a jerk!!! He left me alone!!! As soon as Elias headed to the bar, Ruby came closer and hugged me out of nowhere. "What the hell are you doing?" My voice raised a little. "Seems like your dress is too tight, let me fix it for you." Her nails ripped my dress from the front. "Now you're looking gorgeous!" She devilishly whispered into my ear. She took steps back and my arms immediately covered my chest. *Chuckles "Aren't we repeating history?" My soul was scared, more like it was mortified to face the humiliation again. Every eye shifted to us, they were judging my presence. "Josie, what is wrong…" Gabriel shouted. But before he could complete his sentence, Elias rushed to me and covered my body with his jacket. "Before shouting at my wife, you should teach your wife some manners!" His mouth bluntly muttered. "What?" Gabriel's forehead wrinkled. Elias grabbed Ruby's wrist and lifted her hand in the air. Her nails had my dress' black wool.
