The next morning…
Josie's pov
I opened my eyes only to see Elias was already gone.
"Where did he go?" My lips murmured alone in the room.
*Knock *Knock
My feet walked over to the door and slightly opened it.
"Who?" My brows furrowed.
A maid with cold expressions revealed herself.
"My name is Casey, your personal maid assigned by Madam Terra." She introduced herself.
"Uh…Come inside." My sweet tone allowed.
She stepped into my room and focused her gaze on the bed.
"What is it?" My mind was perplexed by her strange gaze.
Her feet slowly walked over to the bed and stopped at a specific position.
*Deep breath
"I guess you weren't lying about being married." Words came out of her mouth.
My gaze shifted to the bed and noticed blood in the middle of the white bedsheet.
My eyes widened with shock!!!
We didn't do it, so the blood…
Elias, you're truly great.
"By the way…"
"Why are you here?" My polite tone inquired of her early morning presence.
She glared straight into my eyes.
"Today, you have to prepare lunch for everyone in the mansion." Her cold tone explained.
"Lunch?" My soul was terrified.
I never learned a single thing about cooking!!!
"A new bride has to do it, that's the rule." She further clarified.
"So get ready and come downstairs to the kitchen." Having said that, her feet walked out of the room.
*Sigh
"Okay, I have to do this!" My mind and heart, both were determined.

Later that day…
Not a single maid was present in the kitchen, they left me on my own.
"Pasta would do." That was my plan.
I searched on the internet for the recipe and followed the steps as mentioned.
In the end…
The result turned out pretty well.
"Whoa! This looks edible!" Better than my expectations.
A few minutes later…
Casey stepped into the kitchen with the same cold expressions from before.
"Are you done?" Her brow twitched.
She was being rude, more like she was looking down on me.
"Yes, I am done." My words were still polite since it was too early to attract unnecessary war.
"You go first and join the others." She kinda commanded me.
"Hmm…Okay!" My feet walked out of the kitchen.

Upon reaching the lunch table…
The whole family was present, including Elias, Gabriel, and Ruby.
"Good noon, Mother." My lips greeted her.
"Come, sit with us." She pointed her palm to the chair next to Elias.
I took my seat and lowered my gaze.
On my left, it was Amara Rodriguez.
Elias's younger sister and loved by the members.
Next to Amara was Caleb Rodriguez, Elias's cousin. His reputation is as bad as Elias, but only among the ladies.
He changes girlfriends like he changes his clothes!!!
Then on the right side of Terra was sitting Jade Rodriguez, Elias's middle brother.
He is calm and more of an introvert, and you can't strike a conversation with him because his aura literally speaks of arrogance.
And next to Gabriel was Leo, his loyal gamma, who would do anything for him.
"You're coming to tonight's party, right?" Ruby smirked.
I had no idea!!!
My eyes looked at Elias, yet he was busy looking at his mobile screen.
"Uh…What party?" My lips asked.
"To welcome you in our mansion, we're inviting the whole clan." Gabriel slightly tilted his head to the left.
"If the party is for me, then why not?"
My words said with confidence.
Their faces were telling me…
Something was cooking inside their evil heads!!!

A few minutes later…
Casey walked over to us and served everyone the pasta I made.
The moment my tongue tasted it, something was off.
The taste was completely different than before!!!
Did she mess with it???
"What the hell did you do?" Ruby shouted.
"The worst pasta I have ever tasted!"
She flung her plate against one of the pillars.
"Your cooking is still bad, Sister!" Her words sarcastically taunted me.
Gabriel pushed the plate aside, and drank a glass of water instead.
"You ruined everyone's appetite!" Terra taunted me, too.
"Casey, go and make something." She commanded her.
"Yes, Madam." Her head bowed with utmost respect.
"Before you go…" Elias's husky voice attracted everyone's attention.
"I need to show you all something."
A devilish look shrouded his eyes.
"What is it?" Terra's forehead wrinkled.
Elias got up from his chair and played a video on his mobile.
In that video, Ruby clearly told Casey to ruin my dish.
"So Miss. Casey, do you have something to say?" Elias paused the video and questioned her.
"That video is fake!" Ruby slammed the table in her defense.
"Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Elias put his finger on his lips and asked her to say quite.
"Answer me, Casey!" A smirk arose on the corner of his mouth.
"Because the pasta I tasted before was different." Elias never came to the kitchen.
He lied to provoke her!!!
"Is this true?" Terra demanded an answer.
Fear crawled over her body and she knelt down on the floor.
"Forgive me, Madam."
"Forgive me, Please."
"I was just following Madam Ruby's command."
"Forgive me, Please."
"You're fired, Casey Pasey!" Elias said with a sarcastic tone.
"And who are you to fire her?" Gabriel interrupted.
"She messed with my wife, so I have every right to mess with her." Elias made it clear.
"And you should worry about your wife…"
"What?" His brow twitched.
"She deserves punishment, too." Everyone was shocked.
"You will punish my wife?" Gabriel freaked out and rage replenished his eyes.
*Chuckles
"Not today!"
*Deep breath
"Enough, both of you!" Terra Groaned.
"I agree with Elias, you're fired." She took our side against Gabriel.
"But Madam…"
"Forgive me once…"
Two guards ran over to us and aggressively dragged her outside.
"See you all tonight." Elias smiled.
He gently held my palm and we both walked out of the table.

Upon stepping into the bedroom…
"Thank you!" My lips expressed gratitude.
All of a sudden, he came closer and pinned me against the dressing table.
"Listen to me very carefully…"
"Your happy days are long gone, Josie Garcia!"
His lips moved closer to mine.
"In this mansion, keep your eyes and ears always open."
"Understand?" His head slightly tilted.
"Uh…Yes!"
"Good girl." He smirked.
