The Demon Within

Chapter 9

~AURA'S POV~

**Flashback**

Its the last 5 minutes of class though I wish it could be much longer no matter how much I hate school I don't want to go home. I sit in the desk drawing in a notebook waiting to hear the wretched sound of the bell going off. All too soon it happens, and everyone is walking out of the class. I stand up and head for the door.

"Um Aura can you come here for a minute?" The teacher asks.

I know I don’t have a choice, so I put on a fake smile to match my fake happy voice. "Sure."

I walk over to her and wait for her to go on a rant of how I wasn't paying attention in class.

"Uh Aura would you mind if I ask why you come to school with bruises one day then more the next?"

Great so she might know what goes on at home. I stay silent because I don't know what to say. if the teacher calls the cops on my dad I'll get beaten even more. This all happened when my mom died. My father lost it when he found out she was dead. My dad started drinking and one time it got so bad that he tried to rape me because I looked like my mother and he thought I was her. I screamed at him telling him I was his daughter and that's when the beating happened. After I was beat, I had a black eye and I ran to my room locked the door and cried for hours. He knocked on the door telling me to open it and that he was sorry, but I never did I just sat on my bed and crying. Now all he does is sleep with random girls and if I do something, he doesn't like he beats me then apologizes. Sometimes till I bleed.

"Aura? Aura are you ok?"

"Oh, uh yeah I'm fine."

"Aura dose your father abuse you?" She asks bluntly.

"Yes"

"Have you tried to do something about it?"

"Yes, I have, and I just get beat more ok? Can I go now if I'm not home soon I’ll get in trouble?"

"Yes, you may leave."

"Ok and please don't call the cops it will only make it worse." I tell her.

"Alright. I won’t." I can tell she’s uncomfortable, but I don’t care.

I walk out of the class and run home. Can't any of the teachers mind their own business? Of course not. As I came to my driveway, I slow down not wanting the punishment awaiting me. He sometimes has his good days but not very often. When he does, we hang out like we used to. We sometimes watch movies and eat popcorn and we laugh. Not going to lie but I miss that dad. I open the door and step inside. I take off my shoes and put them on the ground.

"Dad, I'm home!" I call out.

"What took you so long Aurora?" He asks.

"A teacher wanted to speak to me." I say not daring to lie.

"What about?"

"The home works. I didn't understand it." I lie this time knowing that if he learned the truth, I would get in massive trouble.

"Alright."

I walk further into the house. He is sitting down on the couch watching the news.

"Aurora would you like to watch a movie and eat popcorn tonight?"

"Sorry dad I can’t, I have homework to do..." I say upset with myself of course today is one of his good days, but I have a ton of work to do.

"I said would you like to watch a movie!" he yells.

"I want to daddy, but I can’t. maybe If I finish early, we can watch one?"

He gets up and stares at me.

"Don't you dare raise your voice at me again!" he says.

"Sorry..."

"Go to your room now! I don't want to see you right now you ungrateful whore."

"But didn't you want me to watch a movie?" I say ignoring what he called me.

He walks up to me and slaps me in the face I don't dare cry or do anything. I just stand there.

"Do as I say you stupid b***h!"

I run past him and run into my room I lock the door like I do every other time I get hit. I cry into my pillow for a bit. I grab the picture of my mom and look at it.

"Why did you leave me here? I really wish you could come back!" I cry to the picture.

I run to my dresser and grab my phone. I was still in pain from my dad hitting me, but I need to vent to someone. I was about to text my best friend when she texted me. She is the only person who knows because she witnessed him do it, she didn't say anything about it though.

'Hey you :) How are ya? ~ Mia ;D ~

‘Not so good dad hit me again... I need you right now! ~ Aurora <3 ~’

'Aww can you sneak out??~ Mia ;D ~'

'Meet me outside my window I'll be down soon k? ~ Aura <3 ~'
