I wake up the next day alone in bed. I’m thankful for this, but at the same time, I was half expecting to wake up with Tessa still in this bed. I get up, get dressed, and make my way downstairs. As if the universe is giving me a sign to go out for the day, I find myself alone in this house. Twice in one week, talk about luck. I go out to my car and drive to Mia’s. I’m hoping she’s home, and I can try to spend some time with our daughter. I quickly stopped at the grocery store to pick up some diapers; it began to rain when I returned. The rain is so heavy it's almost hard to see when I pull up to Mia’s. I grabbed an umbrella from my trunk, walked to her door, and rang the bell. She pulls the door open, and I can’t help but smile at her. “Are these the ones you were talking about?” I ask.
