#21 a united kingdom of lycans and wolves

after a few days in the hospital Abby was finally given one last check up and on the last day the doctor entered the hospital room. he had a big smile on his face as he addressed David and Abby. " we got your test results back from all the blood work and everything looks great so it is safe to be released today. I'm going to prescribe you some vitamins to take daily and we should schedule you for an appointment. "

David and Abby looked confused. Abby in a confused voice asked, " why would I need vitamins and another appointment?"

" well, your majesty for the baby." the doctor smiled as he handed her the pills and walked out leaving Abby and David alone.

" are you ok David?"

" I'm going to be a dad! we are having another baby!" he was over joyed as he grabbed Abby from the bed holding her close. he couldn't be happier and was excited to expand their family. " we need to add a room to the living area!"

" We definitely have a lot to do now. a new baby and restructuring the kingdom to include Lycans is not going to be easy. I feel like we need a vacation, and we haven't even started yet. when does Abe and my parents come back?" Abby was anxious to see her family again and hold her pup in her arms. smelling his sweet baby smell was all she wanted in that very moment.

David was grabbing her stuff together and packing it in the bag. he smiled gently at Abby knowing exactly how she felt. " tomorrow. we wanted you to get settled back at home first then let the chaos begin!" once her stuff was packed David picked up and they were on the way back to their living space within the castle.

it had been a week since Abby had come home. today was a meeting with the elders and high elder to incorporate Lycans into the kingdom. the biggest topic being nominating some of the Lycans onto the council for the high Court and a few Lycans as elders. however this also meant a few of the elders would lose their position which did not sit well with the elders currently sitting on the board. currently they were in a heated battle of who was more deserving to be an elder. David and Abby walked into the grand meeting room. every Lycan and wolf stood bowing their heads in respect to the king and queen. they took their places at the head of the table to address the council and elders. Abby smiled at David as he nodded for everyone to take their seats. he cleared his throat taking a look around the room. " as many of you know we are restructuring our council and elders to include Lycans within the kingdom. this will not stop there. wolves and Lycans will be taking up positions within the kingdom to better reflect our new kingdom as one." there was murmuring amongst the group. David took a deep breath as he waited for the noise die down. " the queen and I are united on our decision of how this will look. I will give the floor to my queen to explain the details of how this will look."

Abby took a deep breath trying to prepare herself for the backlash. this wasn't going to be the easiest thing to go over. they spent agonizing hours over this and wanted to be as fair as possible to all Lycans and wolves. " we have gone over this with painstaking details so that we can be as fair as possible. the council was easier since a few of you were retiring and so we will be filling those spots with Lycans to start integrating Lycans onto the council. once it is an even ratio we will then start implicating a system to keep it even half Lycan and half wolf so that representation is equal and all sides are able to get justice equally. " she looked over her paperwork in front of her. pausing for a brief moment calming herself as she spoke. " council member Thomas and council woman Clare are retiring so we have decided to speed that process up and offer full retirement benefits and a bonus for stepping down. which leads to one more position to make it even on the council. council member Ortega has agreed to take early retirement with full benefits and of course yearly bonus."

Abby waited for the gasps to die down before continuing her announcement. " In their places we have elected three highly esteemed people to take over. these people come highly recommended and their education of our laws and human laws are undoubtedly extensive and will be a welcome addition to the council. we would like to welcome the three new council members council Justine, council Rueben and council Juliana. these three are highly educated and a great addition to our system. and now for the elders." looking around the room Abby could see the hateful looks on the elders faces. they were shooting daggers at her. she went to start speaking again but David placed his hand on hers and she looked at him. he nodded letting her know he was going to do this.

" my decision on this is final. the decision was not easy but it is in the best interest of all Lycan and wolf citizens. this will help ensure relationships between Lycan and wolves thrive peacefully. with that being said there will be three Lycan appointed to the elders and three will be retiring with full benefits and bonuses. " there were gasps and murmuring all around. not everyone was happy. " we are asking that elder Joshua, elder John and elder Rafael retire. there are two parts to this. if they do this quietly then there will be no charges of treason against them for deceiving the crown. you three know about the falsifying of documents and knowingly and willingly deceiving the crown with the false documentation that could have caused the death of many including the queen. " the entire room erupted into disbelief. a few of the elders yelling about what was happening. the door opened and a few warriors came in and the room quieted down. " If these three have an issue with my decision these warriors are here to arrest you and take you now to the royal prison. " David waited quietly before continuing his speech. he nodded at the guards as they made their way to the three elders that were removed. " I know this doesn't make me very popular but order and loyalty must be exhibited with the elders. the crown is the final decision and if we can not make sound decisions because trust is not established then something must be done. the people can not trust us if the cancer is not cut out. with that being said the warriors are here to take you three to your cells."

" Watch your back your majesty!" Rafael screamed at David.

David never flinched or even looked up as the three were taken out with silver cuffs on their hands. " so now we come to the nominations of the next elders. this will include training and taking oaths in order to be a part of the elders. we would like to now introduce elder Javier, elder Roman and elder Emma. these three are very well versed in all aspects of wolf and Lycan laws and customs and will undergo six months of training before taking over fully but will be allowed to participate as needed before training is complete. with that being said there will also be an added position to even things out. we will also add a high elder so there will be two. one representative of Lycans and of course high elder Ryan of the wolves. so with that we would like to introduce the newest high elder. high elder Jonas. we would like to thank everyone for coming out and thank you to everyone who helped make these decisions knowing how tough they were. we know it was not easy but we all feel this was the best for our kingdom and to bring peace between both Lycan and wolves alike. " David stood up and reached his hand to Abby. she took his hand rising to her feet and they walked out of the doors to the hallway. they stayed hand in hand as they quietly made their way to the elevator to see their baby. they knew it was going to take time for everyone to accept what happened in the conference today but they really felt it was the best decision to move the kingdom forward. it was their job to put their people above all. the Lycan and werewolf kingdom would benefit all of them in the end and both of them knew it would bring peace amongst both their kinds.
