CODE: Last Knight

Barrier

I didn’t know what’s the time right now as there’s no window for me to look outside. I also did have any idea how long I had been here, it felt like I left alone here for a long time. 

After Lucianna left this room, there wasn't anyone coming here at all. It was pretty boring being here all alone without anyone to talk with. Wasn’t this supposed to be an infirmary, where’s the other injured people? 

There’s no way I was the only one who was injured, it’s quite impossible for that to happen. As there’s still some way for the people in this timeline to get hurt. Unless the reason was that the healing magic in this timeline had improved greatly. 

I guess even if some people had some wound that would surely be fatal, it could be healed and that person could survive. When I think about it, it’s quite possible to look at myself. I remember that there are some holes in my body after I get hit by those bullets. 

To see that it was completely healed and the holes that the bullets made were gone. I certainly think that the healing magic has been developing since my time period. 

Maybe there’s a good thing after all if peace did happen but knowing Xarkes. He must have some intention behind all of this. It’s pretty hard for me to believe that Xarkes always kill countless humans back in my time. 

Why suddenly Xarkes wanted peace between humans and why the human race accepted it. Does the human race forget what Xarkes had done to humans? 

There’s still a lot of things that I didn’t understand and I am going to find the answer as soon as I am free from here. 

My thoughts were disrupted when I saw the man with the white shirt and Lucianna enter this room again. They both approach me slowly, Lucianna then stands on the right side of me while the man stands on the left side. 

Both begin to raise their hand and chant something, I feel weird for the reason they’re doing that. But after a few seconds, I finally know the answer to that. They’re trying to remove the barrier that had been placed within me. 

It's because when they’re trying to dispel it, I could see the barrier wall very clearly with my eyes. It was true after all that they had placed a barrier around me, I thought it was a barrier at first when I first realized that I couldn’t stand up but I then changed my mind for something else. 

The barrier wall slowly disappeared as I felt that I was able to move a little bit. When the barrier had finally gone, I was able to stand up again and there’s no barrier to restrict my movement anymore. 

Still, I wonder why they placed a barrier in the first place, was it necessary. I think it's better if they didn’t place it. 

“It seems that you’re discharged, I hope that you wouldn’t involve yourself again with this kind of dangerous stuff. Just called the law enforcement if you see anything weird happening and never investigate it yourself.” The man said that towards me. 

He must be referring to the incident that happened to me. I guess the two people had told him about what happened. 

“Sure, I would do that but where’s my stuff?” I said that as there’s no way I'm going to leave without my sword and armour. 

“You will get your armour in the front desk but the sword has been confiscated by the law enforcement… Wait a minute! That’s your sword, I thought it belonged to the anti-demon faction people.” 

“Unfortunately that was my sword and it’s kinda precious to me, is there any way for me to get it back?” I ask the man. 

“It’s kinda hard for you to get back your sword, it was already confiscated and acted as the crime evidence… You could ask them for your sword back but I doubt that you would get it back.” The man said that towards me. 

“I see, I guess I will be asking them then…” I said that but when I was about to leave. I realized that the door didn’t appear for me. 

The man realized it and quickly apologized to me, “I’m sorry, all of this talk makes me forget to take down this special barrier as well.” 

After the man said that, he then chanted something and the whole room became a normal room once again. I was shocked and couldn’t believe what I’m seeing right at the moment. 

“What kind of spell is this? I have never seen anything like this before…” I said that towards the man. 

“It was a dimension spell and it’s pretty complicated as we rarely used it.” The man said that. 

A dimension spell, I never heard that kind of spell. It must be a new type of spell that was developed in the future. But after seeing it, I kinda understand something about the spell. It enables someone to be contained in another space. 

I then realized something and asked the man immediately about it, “Wait! Why are you using that spell in this room?” 

“It seems that you notice it but all I can tell was it was our protocol in the hospital. As we are unable to identify whether you’re part of the anti-demon faction or a normal citizen. That’s why we cast a dimension spell within the room to make sure you’re unable to escape and it was the same reason for the barrier.” The man said that.

Hearing all of that, I now understand why there's a barrier around me. I guess part of me being able to get rid of that barrier was because the two men from earlier might vouch that I am a normal citizen. 

I wonder what would happen if I told them the original story and why I’m there at the scene as well. I guess I would not be released from the hospital anytime soon...
