Chapter 85: Coffee shop gathering

When the sky was covered by dusk, I went toward the said meeting place. The coffee shop was easy to find, considering that it's the only coffee shop in this area.
There are not a lot of houses nearby. Only vast green land and three windmills spin as the cold wind blows.
While walking, a white cotton-like ball fell on my cheeks. The cold sensation runs through my skin.
It was snowing.
“The last month of the year is approaching… This must be the beginning of the winter season.”
I said with anticipation.
I went to the door and opened the door. Accompanied by the ring of the bell placed on the door. I attract attention as I enter.
The first one to notice me was Leona. She approached me.
“I heard about what happened in Grandbell’s mansion. We thought you got caught in the tragedy… Seems like you prove that you are not easy to kill.”
I was on the scene and nearly died.
“I’m lucky and survive...”
“About Aster…”
“... I’m sorry, but I don’t want to talk about her. Leave them alone for a while.”
I replied with a serious tone to Leona.
Leona staggered, she turned her back away from me.
There is no time to act friendly with these people. I have my own goal in joining this mission. I want to have some clues regarding Audrey and stop her with her wicked plans.
I get myself on a table and sit down behaving myself.
I was unable to control myself and gave Leona an intimidating glare.
Apologizing would be awkward and I have no reason to feel sorry.

I took my eyes to the cover of the book.
“Cooking?” I murmured.
The room was down to complete silence and everyone was not being friendly to each other. The weather outside was cold and the temperature had become colder because of our attitude toward one another.
From my bag, I took a scarf and wrapped it around my neck.
Since this is a coffee shop, I go and order a coffee to heat my body temperature.
I ordered hot chocolate.
While I’m busy blowing the hot chocolate in my hand,
The royal who invited us made an entrance. She is wearing a dress and a guitar in her hand. She strums the strings, creating a melody that is nice to hear.
Olivia took a deep breath and started singing.
The song she was singing is about dreams and a peaceful land.
Her voice was so sweet and calming, perfect to the light music she was playing.
After her marvelous performance, we all applauded. The hot chocolate in my hand became lukewarm and easy to drink.
“Thank you for waiting for me… I hope you'll like the song I offer to everyone… Now, we’ll start the meeting with a mission of defeating a woman that is possibly one of humanity's worst enemies, Audrey Sieghart… She did the unexpected. She attacked the Redgrave house, stealing one of the family's most kept treasures… She took the Sandalphon.”
Olivia said.
“Sandalphon, what was that?”
Someone asked politely, raising her hand.
“Sandalphon is one of the angel abilities from hundred years ago. Created by the creator(God). They have their other specific uses, but that is still unknown to humanity. The most terrifying thing an angel's ability could do is that it could destroy the world.”
“I see you're hiring us to fix up your family mess… If it's that important, Redgrave should seal it down at the bottom of the earth or place it inside a dimension of magic.”
A man protested.
“That’s exactly what we did… Sandalphon was hidden and we placed multiple layers of seals on it. Together with the Demon king's eyes, it was stolen.”
“What?! Demon king eyes too! Just how careless is your family?”
Leona stepped toward the man, complaining.
“Shut your mouth… Don’t say that we didn’t do our best. The stealing happened at the same time the capital city was in chaos. The knight's priority was drawn toward protecting the family members from the monsters and demons.”
“Calm down Leona… We have our fault and I admit it… We’re so easy that no one could ever steal it from us. After hundreds of years, no one ever attempted to steal… Knight Audrey was an exceptional fighter, killing high-ranked knights in the mansion by herself.”
“No-fault for the family… It was because of a traitor. It was the traitor's fault that we all had our guards down at that moment. It was too late when we noticed that it was gone.”
Leona said.
I have no idea the full extent of Audrey's power, but she is one of the most terrifying opponents. Her lack of empathy for human life and psychotic tendencies made her a great fighter.
Audrey doesn’t show any hint of emotion during the fight. It's hard to predict her movements.
About her abilities and magic. I know she has puppet magic. I know for sure that she still has plenty of magic hidden in her sleeves.
“About the angel ability? What kind of ability was stolen?”
“Ability to a massacre.”
Ability to m******e? What kind of ability was that?
“Sandalphon is an angel with the power of killing anything or cutting down on anything. This ability was the one that put the goddess to rest. The ability takes the form of a blade. It depends on the user on what it could become. Her sword would likely be the way Sandalphon would take.”
A timid-looking girl gulps her saliva and offers a question.
“If your high-ranked knight didn’t win against her… How about us? Do we have a chance of winning?”
“You’re Toto, I believe…”
“Yes.”
“There is a huge chance of us being killed in this mission… But I won’t say we don’t have any chance of winning… Everyone here is someone I believe to be very strong.”
“How’d you know?”
“I just know… I trust everyone here. I promise exceptional rewards and give you all permission to rank up as nobles. After this mission succeeded.”
Olivia said.
The man who complained made a big grin on his face.
“That’s what I’m talking about… Finally, I’m able to get out of my rotten life.”
“Stop being a too overconfident meathead. People like you are the first to die on an actual battlefield.”
Four-eyes said.
“I’m not overconfident… My strength is the real thing… Do you want to try it for yourself?”
“If you’re picking a fight… You just pick someone out of your league.”
“I hate arrogant bastards like you… Especially people wearing glasses.”
Before the tension has gotten worse, they realize that their action will lead to nothing but pain in the butt. They decided to stop and just go away from each other.
Thus, the explanation of the mission continues.
“The current location of Audrey was on East Island. This is the perfect time to defeat her. Mastering Sandalphon would take months or even years of training. It is not an ordinary ability. Before she perfectly masters the angel ability, we have to stop her right away.”
Olivia said.
Stopped here… I'm sure she meant to kill her.
This mission is to kill Audrey and retrieve all the kingdom's treasure stolen by Audrey.
After the explanation, we got a superb dinner and I could see the effort put into the meal. But I had eaten lots earlier and had not made a single bite.
If I did, my stomach would explode.
Immediately the next day before the sunrise. We are all deployed to East island for a surprise and a surprise attack. As a means of transportation, we ride dragons back.
This is my first time riding a dragon and I’m so happy to ride one.
“Wow! So this is how it feels to ride one… It feels so good.”
I said.
In front of me was a dragon rider named Gila.

“Hahahaha… They are vomiting because they have motion sickness I guess… A few minutes from now we’re reaching the shore of East Island. Hold tightly, I’ll go high throttle.”

Flying at high speed. The tiny island from the distance becomes big.
We are in the lead. I kinda feel bad for the people behind us.
While we fly above the clouds. The sun started to rise to give us a magnificent view of sunrise.
This is a work of art.
While captured by the scenery. The wing of the dragon was cut down with a flash.
“The view is so great… Isn’t Hanayuki?”
Gila said.
She didn’t realize the situation we were in. Gila turned her head to me with an innocent smile. When a red line occurs on the left ear, it crawls toward her right ear.
“What is this?”
“Gila!”
Half of her head fell off.
Another invisible blade goes at extreme speed, targeting me. I immediately ducked, leaping away from the dragon. The dragon was then cut down into many pieces.
“We’re being attacked!”
I shouted.
