Chapter 10: Flower bloom

1217 Words
Back in the city where Fina lives. Denver and I go straight toward the flower shop and find out that Fina is not there anymore. I tried knocking on the door of the flower shop but no one answered. I went toward the back and went out at the window. I saw no one inside. Seems like no one is home. A grim expression was seen on my face when I realized something so terrifying. Could it be… While I have my face pressed on the window glass. Someone put his hand on my shoulder. This resulted in me being startled. “Are you looking for the family living there?” As I turned around, I saw the same old woman who had given me the hot chocolate when I first got there. “Yeah, madam. I’m looking for Fina and her family.” “Well, they go to their hospital because their daughter is not waking up anymore. Looks like the illness of their daughter has become worse. She is so young yet suffering so much. The world sure is cruel, isn’t it?” I agree, the world sure is cruel. “May I ask where this hospital is?” “It is over there near the park. The huge building in white.” “Thank you very much.” The old woman leaves. Hearing our conversation. The man standing behind me had all hope lost on his face. Despair is all I can sense. It is understandable and I can feel sympathy for what he felt after hearing things about Fina’s condition. Fina’s condition worsened and she might not be able to wake up anymore. There is a possibility that Fina may not be able to see Denver anymore. “Do you love her or not?” I asked Denver. “What is it all of the sudden?” I curled my fist and was about to knock his face with lighting punch. Terrified, he stepped back and tripped. He fell with his butt on the ground. “It hurts.” “You’re so pathetic… Why does Fina have to fall in love with a man like you?” “You’re about to punch me with a fist covered in magic. Dodging is the normal thing to do. If you ask me if I love Fina, of course, the answer is ‘Yes!’. That was obvious. I started researching about the eternal flower in the laboratory. If the eternal flower didn’t exist. Then, I'd create it, I thought. All of my work is for Fina. So that she would accept my feelings for her.” “Then don’t lose hope… She is not dead yet. She can still wake up. Just believe in her. Fina might be pessimistic about her future, but she didn’t give up. She continues living a normal life.” Saying things and knocking him into the sense is the thing I can do for their love story. Denver got up and, with a serious face, he turned his gaze on me. “You’re correct, I should not lose hope. I should believe in her. I should believe that he could make it. What am I doing? Here, let's go and see her.” Denver said and then kicked him to the ground. Dashing as fast as he could toward the girl he loved. His dead eyes earlier were full of spirit. My words did something to him. We both arrived at the hospital and asked the nurses about the girl named Fina. Denver and I went immediately to the said room to see her. Denver, without knocking, opened the door in a hurry. Panting and sweat dripping from his forehead to his cheeks. “Hump… Hump… I made it…” Lifting his glance. He saw Fina sitting looking at him with surprise. Fina was already woken up and gazing in the window like she used to do. “Denver,” Fina said with a low tone voice. “Fina…” They both gazed at each other's eyes for a moment and then averted their eyes. Both with bright red faces and embarrassed. They are both in love, no doubt about it. “You come to see me…” Denver before responding to Fina, took out something from his sling bag. Offering it to Fina. “I’m sorry… I managed to find the eternal flower, but I managed to create something similar to it. This flower won’t wilt for a very long time if its water is changed every day. It can also survive different weather conditions and temperatures. According to our research, this flower can last for about 50 years.” Fina took it and sniffed. The sweet aroma the flower released made Fina create a smile on her face. “Sweet… But I don’t deserve this flower. This kind of beautiful flower should not be wasted.” “Its not true at all.” “No, I don’t deserve anything. I can’t take this flower because I don’t know if I can take care of it. I don’t know if I can change its water every day. The doctor said that I could die anytime. It could be tomorrow, today, or right now. I’m scared… I don’t want to create such a bond. That’s why I I find out that I’m in love with you. I distance myself and order you to find a non-existent flower. So that you’ll be able to forget me. Far, far away, you will find a girl that is great and beautiful. A girl that suits an intelligent man like you.” “Fina is the only one I like… I love you.” Fina was stunned after hearing Denver’s words. “I love you Fina.” “You shouldn’t.” “That’s what my heart wants to tell… I love you Fina… I want to spend my life with you. Cause I love you so much. Tears dripped from Fina’s eyes. She wipes it out immediately but it keeps on flowing. Tears won’t stop. I’m happy that it was not a tear of sadness. The tears flowing in Fina’s eyes are tears of joy. Fina, who supposed to be bed ridden, was able to stand up. Walking toward Denver. She pushed herself to Denver and hugged by Denver tightly. “To everything you told me… That is the easiest to understand. I love you too.” The couple hug each other tightly. I don’t want to disturb you any further and go out of the room. Judging by their shadows. I could see that they had their lips pressed together. Love sure is wonderful. Afterward, Fina’s health returned back to normal. Her illness still doesn’t have a cure, but she is fighting strongly. Fighting together with the one she loves the most. The flower blooms, watching the two couples continue their love story. … Only when a flower withers is that there meaning to its bloom. Just like this long adventure. It's not about the end. It's about the journey. Applying it to life. I’ve learnt something important. A life only holds its meaning when you live it to the fullest. Hold the people you love and spend the day like it was the end. I’ll remember this wonderful lesson in my ever-changing life.
