Chapter 11: Unhealthy eating habits

This is bad… I can tell that this is bad.

Looking inside a full-body mirror. I looked at my naked body. I was frustrated at what I was seeing.

I’m currently in the hot spring house in Crimonia city. A city near a volcano. A dead volcano to be exact. It is said that the volcano never made any eruptions for thousands of years. Being around a volcano. Geysers and hot springs are commonly found in this place.

Well, these hot springs are the main selling characteristic of this city. The city of hot spring, Crimonia city.

I pinched my belly and noticed the excess fat on my waist had gotten bigger.

What is this?! What is this?!

This is bad. I don’t want to be a girl with a pretty face. I want to have a great slender body too. As a normal girl, of course, I despise this kind of flaw.

Remembering those past days.

I’ve been eating greasy food. I did accumulate lots of money in my previous monster hunting quest. I indulge myself by buying lots of fried chicken. Last week there was a root beer festival and I drank a lot in the root beer drinking contest. Added, I also ate a lot.

All of those delightful times of eating. It resulted in something sinister.

I’m getting fat!

(In reality, she is not fat. Thin girls like Hanayuki over-exaggerate that they want to gain a little weight.)

Realizing the truth, my eyes started to become teary.

Feeling down at the truth. I dipped my body into the hot water. There are no people in the hot spring. This place is for me for today.

Heat can melt fat. That’s what everyone said. If I could dip myself in this hot water for an hour… No, maybe two hours. I might be able to regain my body.

That’s right, I have to be optimistic. I’m still young. I can still fix these flaws of mine.

While I have my burning sprint, I put on my goal of regaining back my normal weight.

I heard a noise from the wall beside me. The tall wall beside me will lead toward the boys' bath.

“You can’t bring your weapon here. This is a place for bathing.”

“But my flaming sword is important. I’m not at ease if I can’t see it.”

The man, on the other hand, said.

“Follow the rules or get out of here?”

The barking ended. I don’t know what happened to the man owning the sword. Did he leave? Or does he have his sword placed outside? I don’t know.

I should not pry into something that is not my business.

I have to concentrate and lose myself here to lose weight.

Two hours later.

“My skin is burning.”

My skin was red and my head was dizzy. Dip in hot water for a very long time and my skin gets burned. Turning my whole body into a red color.

My consciousness left me and everything turned white.

Someone saw me and carried me to my room and had me lay down on a soft futon. Turning my head, I could see a woman with a tray containing food in her hand.

“You’re already awake.”

“Thank you for saving me.”

“Nope, I’m not the one who saved you.”

“I would like to say my thanks.”

“He has already left.”

“He?!”

I was shocked after knowing that the one who saved my life was him. In other words, a boy. I immediately hugged my body and saw something weird happening.

I’m still pure, right? I’m still pure, right?

I don’t know the answer.

I was naked and my whole body was exposed. Considering how cute I am. He might have done something weird to my body. Things that only a married couple can do.

(Hanayuki’s body is the color red. She couldn’t tell if she was blushing.)

My face is burning hot.

“Don’t worry, the man who carried you didn’t do anything. The one who truly saw you was the old woman. She can’t carry you so she immediately screams for help. The man bathing on the other side of the hot spring will come to your rescue and carry you.”

I made a sigh of relief.

I’m still pure. That’s great.

The man arguing earlier was the man who saved me... Well, he still got to see and touch my body. Thanks serve as my thanks to him. It is still a shame that I’m unable to thank him properly.

The hot spring house offers dinner to people staying there. That’s the reason the lady came inside with the tray of food. The lady left me alone in my room after putting the tray on the table.

I could still feel the fat on my waist. My waist is still not in good shape. I have to go on a diet. Deciding, I took a look toward the stars from the window. I turned my glance at the tray of food and noticed fried chicken.

The freshly cooked aroma and the species used on its breading enveloped my nose.

“Thanks for the food!”

I said, and took the meal to my stomach happily.

“I’ll become serious about having a diet tomorrow.”

I said to myself.

The next day.

Early in the morning, I immediately go to the adventurers guild and get a quest. A quest that will surely tie me down. Instead of using magic. I use my legs and run with my physical strength. I finished the quest and went back to the hot spring house.

I dip down to the hot spring to relieve the fatigue on my shoulders.

“So good! The pain is going away. I feel refreshed.”

After taking a bath, I went to the eight scale to scale my weight. I was in a state of disappointment seeing that my weight didn’t change that much.

Not a single number goes down. My excess fat is still in my waist.

They said that I can't change things overnight. I must stay consistent. I have to stay consistent.

I told myself with a pair of fist pumps, but after seeing what was on the dinner table. My physical body can’t resist any longer.

On the table was a limited fried chicken meal coated in mystic herb breading. It was a special edition meal that only occurs once on a blue moon in this hot spring house, according to the lady keeper.

Fried chicken contains lots of fat. Consuming it might worsen my current self.

I shouldn't have eaten… This is wrong. I’ll become a fatty.

Unable to resist the urge of my stomach. I end up chowing down the fried chicken with a delighted expression on my face.

I only live once. Maybe doing things that will make me happy will be my top priority. If it is going to make me sad. Then I had better step out of it.

Living for the sake of only feeling happy might be wrong. I need some goal or destination. My goal is to remember my past and travel around the world to find clues. Surprising events always happen. A bad thing is sure to happen. I can’t grow if I only feel pleasure. For the sake of growing, I need mistakes and suffering.

I didn’t consume all the meal and left the big piece on the plate. I took the plate and opened the window. A cat came in. Looking at me with big cute eyes.

“Are you hungry?”

I put the plate on the floor and let the cat eat my leftover. The cat is happy. I go out to get some milk and offer it as a drink.

Looking up at the stars… I muttered:

“Where am I going next?”

What kind of place am I going to visit next? What kind of people I’ll be meeting?

Tomorrow I have decided on my departure.

“Before that, I’ll take a bath one last time.”
