Chapter 76: Reaching Malie seaport

There are lots of days before the royal capital party happens. Felt a little ashamed staying at Aster’s mansion. I went outside and decided to do a monster quest in the city adventuring guild.
I don’t want to spend my whole day lazying around. If I did, I’ll become fat. Something I don’t want. My movements want rusty and want to be in top shape every time.
Aster was supposed to come with me, but she had something to attend to.
Standing in front of the quest board, I’m carefully picking a quest that is appropriate for me.
There are lots of monsters and monster quests posted. The Dragon, a terrorist and evil cultist called the witch cult.
That’s why this quest board is overloaded with posters. Some posters are buried by other posters.
They are so active these days.
And the kingdom is not doing anything significant to stop them. This kingdom sure is useless.
“This one is great… A subjection quest on taking down an evil squid called the king of the sea. The reward was 5,000 gold plus a basket of salmon and a magic book containing healing magic.”
Perfect timing. I wanted to learn this magic.
The location of the quest is on the eastern island of the continent. Three cities from Springwood city.
By using my lightning speed, going there would be easy. Before sunset, I would like to finish my quest or else Aster would be worried about me.
I don’t want her to think that I ran away without saying goodbye. That would make me a terrible friend.
I snatched the poster on the bulletin board and handed it over to the receptionist. The receptionist was having a second thought about whether I could complete the quest.
“This quest is very dangerous… I think a rookie should…”
Before she finishes. I presented her with my adventure card.
“S-class? I’m deeply sorry for my attitude earlier… I’ll immediately approve your request. I hope you are safe.”
She said.
I don’t blame her, my appearance is quite deceiving. I wish to be a little more mature.
After exiting the adventurer guild, I leaped toward the roof of the guild, looking toward my target city.
I took a knife I had in my bag.
A simple knife I just brought as a spare. I want to have a little experiment doing my switch magic. I wonder how long my magic range is. I made the knife blade dull so that it wouldn’t cause any accidents.
I empowered my strength and channeled it to the knife.
I took a deep breath and, with full power, I threw the knife.
The knife covered with lightning magic flew in the sky like a shooting star. Speeding toward the far east.
Closing my eyes, I felt as if I could still track down my knife.
I have no idea how long it has already been, but I can still feel it.
After 2 minutes, the knife struck down a wood. I’m happy that it didn’t hit anyone. If it did… That would be terrible.
Time for this one…
“Switch!”
I switched myself to my knife. After switching, I find myself on a tall tree. About 40 feet high from the ground.
“Lightning speed!”
I activated it to protect my body from crashing down to the ground.
Happy that I don’t have broken bones. I still feel the emerging pain. Landing on the ground, I took a compass and map in my bag. I wonder where this vast forest is.
This must be a lie…
I ran directly east, exiting the forest.
According to the map, after I exit this forest, I’ll reach my destination.
Dashing with a smile, I found the light behind the thick tall trees. The moment I passed through, I saw the vast ocean presented in my eyes. A huge port and a city below.
“Malie seaport…”
I still could not believe how much magic I have in my body. This is unusual, just how powerful I am exactly. Could I abuse my magic for my own use?
The evil incarnate was said to destroy an entire continent.
Could it be I have the same power if I am truly evil incarnate?
I shook my head to dispose of the idea.
“No, No, No, I would disagree if someone told me that I’m the evil incarnate… The evil incarnate appeared a hundred years ago. There is no way I’m a hundred years of age. That is straight-up impossible.”
But magic holds infinite possibilities.
I put my hand on my head to release the unnecessary thoughts. Shaking until I become dizzy.

Some girl pointed out.
“Mia doesn’t approach her… Mixing up with insane people is dangerous.”
The brother told his little sister and forcefully turned her head away from me.

Residents… I could ask these two about the king of the sea. Walking toward them, the two immediately picked up the bunch of firewood and started running.

I stretched my hand, ran, and chased them.

While running, the siblings were blocked by a pack of hungry-looking wolves. The little sister got scared off easily and turned toward her brother's back. The brother gets his chopping blade, pointing to the pack of wolves.
“Insane women on our backs and wolves in our front… Grrr.”
“Brother, I’m scared.”
“Don’t worry, Big Brother will protect you.”
Big Brother makes a tough front. But he can’t hide his true feelings from me. His toes are shaking together with his hand. His muscles are panicking.
Panic calls for death on a battlefield.
“Lightning bolt!”
I attack the wolves with lightning. After toasting one wolf monster, the other immediately got intimidated by my presence and ran away.
Without their leader, they couldn’t do anything.
“So powerful…”
“We didn’t ask for your help.”
“Still saying that… little kids these days can’t say thank you properly.”
I said.
“Little kid? Just look in the mirror.”
“Are you saying I’m a kid? Despite my appearance. I’m an adult already.”
“I see, you’re not just insane… You’re a liar too. I mean, big sisters have big boobs on their chest.”
B-Big boobs… I felt defeated after hearing his claims. So adult girls have big boobs. Like Aster and Eula….
My chest is something I don't have control over. There is no way I would know that I got small breast size as I grew up.

After that, we had a conversation in the woods while eating lunch. For lunch, we just go and roast some mushrooms and edible monster meat from the forest.
I long to eat fish.
Why were you eating this if there is a wide ocean nearby? This is weird.
As we ate, I explained and showed them my adventure card so that they would believe me. The little sister doesn’t need an explanation. I just explained things to Brother.
“First of all, thank you very much for helping my little sister before.”
He bowed his head to me.
“No need to thank me, I’m not the one who saved them from the slave traders. I merely helped them go back safely to the city before.”
I believe it's the man who has a flaming sword who saved them.
“Still, you have my thanks… you’re an adventurer who has come to defeat the king of the sea.”
“Yup.”
“You should just give up… That monster is very big, much bigger than this city itself. It can go underwater and can use its eight giant tentacles to attack. It's very dangerous. Because of this monster, the livelihood of the fishermen is not as great as before. The squid always goes in their way. Currently, we’re like slaves to the king of the sea.”
“If it’s hard to live here, why not go away from this city?”
“I wish I could, but the vast forest and the desert are too big. My little sister said.

I see he didn’t know. That’s why he still believes that I will not stand a chance against the king of the sea.
I gather information but it's not enough.
“Would you mind escorting me to the adventuring guild?”
