Chapter 39: New step

“It’s already morning, Hanayuki.” Shaymi said while she was doing her best to wake up Hanayuki, who was still in bed. Yesterday wasn’t exhausting at all. Hanayuki and Shaymi had just strolled around the big city where they are currently in. Eating in a popular restaurant and enjoying the beautiful scenery the city has to offer. The city was called Witchport city. On the side of the big city was a big port where ships departed and sailed. To someone who had never seen the outside world before, Shaymi was amused looking at the big ships. First seeing the ship, she thought it was a big fish. Her eyes are glimmering and sparkling seeing people enjoying their ride on the big ship. The opposite happened to Hanayuki. Seeing the big ship in Witchport city just made her remember happenings in her past. The big ship is called Noah’s Ark. Princess Eula, Cake, Rasp, and Berry. Their adventure is sure to be a short one, but that is the first time Hanayuki ever got a companion. Despite all the bad things that happened. Those girls are still important to Hanayuki. Just as promised, Hanayuki will continue moving forward and continue being kind. “Hanayuki, wake up! Wake up!” Hanayuki still has a hard time getting up from her bed. She did her best and opened her eyes slowly. She saw Shaymi's cute-looking face closely at her. After opening her eyes, she sat on the bed and had her arms stretched up high as she made a big yawn. “The sun is already high up… I overslept. Last night I had a long dream about my past.” “Really?! Then, Hanayuki has her memories back?” “I wish I have.” “But you said you dreamed about the past.” “My dream is about the past when I’m starting my journey searching for my memories. I guess I have to visit her.” Hanayuki stood up and went to the restroom to wash her face. After grooming her for a brief moment, she goes out with Shaymi out to the city. While walking on the streets, they look around and grab some brunch. (Breakfast and lunch.) “Whoah, what is this circle thing? It's delicious.” “It's called donuts.” “I love it… It has different flavors and all looks yummy.” Shaymi much the donuts hastily like there is no tomorrow. “Please eat slowly. It would be troublesome if…” “...Water…Wate…” “I’m just saying it.” Shaymi’s being a glutton has already taken a toll on her. Hanayuki took a bottle of water and took its cap away. She rubbed Shaymi’s back and had Shaymi drink slowly. After drinking water… “I thought I was going to die.” “Just eat normally next time.” “I have to buy some flowers first.” Hanayuki saw a flower shop and bought a bouquet. They continue their walk and arrive in a memorial park. It doesn’t take long before Hanayuki figures out where the location she is searching for. In the middle of the memorial park. There is a statue of a princess she knew from the past. A pretty statue and flowers growing below. Yellow and blue flowers just like her blonde hair and blue eyes. Hanayuki placed the flowers she had in her hand on the grave and had her fingertips touch the craving on the tomb. Touching her name, she smiled. “Eula, it's been a long time.” This is the first time Hanayuki visited Eula’s grave after she died not long ago. Eula must be twisted, but Hanayuki still believes that she is good at heart. She is a friend she respected and the journey they shared was fun. Hanayuki placed her hands together and offered a prayer. Shaymi didn’t have the culture of praying in an amusement park. She didn’t know what was currently happening. Shaymi decided to mimic Hanayuki and place her hands like Hanayuki. “Who is this person?” “The person buried in this grave is my friend. She is my first friend and first companion.” Hanayuki responded. Shaymi felt sad, immediately remembering Hanayuki telling her she had a companion who had died a long time ago. Shaymi didn’t know anything and couldn’t mutter a single word to comfort Hanayuki. “...” “What’s with the long face, Shaymi?” “This person is important to Hanayuki.” “More or less… I think… I don’t have a real answer, because I don’t understand myself fully well. My adventure with her adventures. It ended on a tragic note, but it was fun. I won’t forget. The moments I love are when we are just walking and camping. Traveling until we reach the first country on another continent. We go fishing and hunting. Those times are my first times feeling the warmth of friends. When I’m with them I don’t feel lonely at all.” Shaymi grabs Hanayuki’s hand and looks directly into Hanayuki’s eyes seriously. “Don’t worry, I won’t live, Hanayuki… I’ll stay by your side forever and ever. That’s a promise.” Hanayuki had her heart melted in a moment. She shed a tear and immediately wiped it off with her finger. She then hugs Shaymi tightly. “Yeah, I’ll stay by your side too. I won’t let you feel loneliness either.” Shaymi hugs Hanayuki back. After hugging, they made a grin at each other. “I have a new companion. It's hard to get one because I’m afraid of losing other people again, but I can’t stay lonely forever. I must start moving forward and letting other people know me. She is my new traveling companion, Shaymi.” Hanayuki introduced Eula and placed her hand on Shaymi’s head. “... She is very cute… Eula likes cute girls. If she is still alive she might hug you non-stop for that reason.” “I wish I had met her. She sounds like a very kind person.” “Yeah, she is very kind. She is a bit of crazy, but she is a great person. Because of her, I learn how to forgive and give other people chances. I’ll help people in need and live a noble life.” The two girls spend their time together in Eula’s grave. They eat donuts and rest lying on flowers looking up at the drifting clouds. Thinking about what kind of shape the clouds reassemble. Quite some time has passed when Hanayuki and Shaymi say goodbye to Eula. They both walked away holding hands, back to the main city. “What are we having for dinner?” “Fried chicken.” “I don’t want to eat fried chicken anymore.” Shaymi complain. “But it is delicious.” While they were there, another blonde girl passed by. The girl noticed Hanayuki, but Hanayuki didn’t pay attention to the girl. She goes toward Eula’s grave and offers flowers. “Flowers? Who could it be?” She asked in wonder. The girl who visited Eula’s grave was her younger sister, Princess Yusael. She turned around and saw Hanayuki’s back. “Could it be? No, maybe I’m just overthinking things.”
