Chapter Four (WARNING)

Quiet sobs echoed in the chilly room. The room was grim and a mess, the shattered bowls and glasses spread across the marble floor with fruits staining the floor, also with feathers and the bedcovers ripped into shreds and a broken wooden bedpost fell to the floor. Everything was silent, almost as though they were listening in, listening to the heart-breaking sobs of pain and horror. A thick pool slowly spread on the marble floor, covering every inch of the white marble with blood and white feathers, and in the centre of this pool, the cause of this pool of blood was the woman, who was sobbing alone in the room. Her forehead laid on the bloody floor, even her golden hair bathed in the pool, becoming red like blood. Hands and knees tucked underneath her, her back angrily covered in blood with a slow steady flow streamed down arms. There was a gentle knock on the door, slowly cracked opened and a man walked in with his head lowered. His long blonde hair fell onto his face, lifting his head as he tucked his hair behind his ear. His green eyes widened in horror when they took in the whole bloody scene. With no care, he rushed to the injured woman, kneeling beside her, making sure he does not touch her back. “JEREMIAH! JEREMIAH!” He called out, glancing around, and grabbed a piece of the ripped bedcover, then quickly folded before gently placing on the woman’s back. “JEREMIAH!” He called out again. “What’s wrong, Leonard?” Another man came into the room, his eyes were closed as he entered, it looked like he was asleep. His messy black hair was evidence, his greyish eyes opened and just like the first guy who entered, his eyes widened in horror and he froze by the door. “W-w-what happened?” He breathed. Leonard, who was still by the woman’s side, glanced around, taking in the room's scene. It looked like there was a fight, “who did this?” He asked until his eyes landed on a ripped, bloodstained pair of wings that thrown across the room. “A—” “LUCIFER! LUCIFER! LUCIFER!” She cried out, lifting her head, continued to scream out in pain and anger. Leonard grabbed her face and brushed her hair away from her face, wanting to say something, but her loud sobs stopped him. “W-we must stop him,” she sobbed, opening her greenish/greyish eyes, staring straight at Leonard. “Lucifer must fall before it’s too late…” She whispered. Leonard hesitantly looked away from her blood and tear covered face, looked over at Jeremiah, who still too shocked to move, then back at her, “we’ll follow you…” Naomi jerked awake, glancing around, realising she was in the passenger side in the car. “Nightmare?” Death asked, keeping his gaze on the road as he drove. She shifted in her seat and pushed herself up on the seat, then looked out the window. “More like a memory,” she said, clearing her throat, then hissed in pain, quickly leaning forward. “Where are we going?” She asked. Death sighed, not asking more about what was wrong because he knew what Naomi was going through but did not know the pain she was feeling. He only knew she was in pain. “A nightclub called ‘Sin’. Our good old Hiram will be there,” he said. “A fitting name for Demon owned club,” she muttered, keeping her gaze out the window. Death chuckled under his breath quietly agreeing with her and stayed in comfortable silence as drove down the road in the night. Finally, they saw bright lights in the distance and each minute they got closer and closer until surrounded by bright flashing lights. Death drove around the streets like he was familiar with the area, “have you been in a nightclub?” He asked as pulled into a parking lot. Naomi shook her head when he finally stopped the car and placed it in park then gazed at Naomi, “here is a warning, its loud, crowded and annoying. Come on,” he said before stepping out the car. Naomi followed Death as they entered a dark alleyway. They continued to walk in silence as music blasted louder and louder down the alleyway. Suddenly, Naomi saw a lengthy queue of people who looked anxieties in line, Death grabbed Naomi’s wrist pulling her to continue following and he ignored the glares of the people who stood in the queue. Death approached the buff bouncer, staring straight up at the scary face with confidence, “your demon boss is expecting us.” He said and the bouncer nods, then stepped aside and opened the door for Death and Naomi. People complained as Death and Naomi walked into the club. Darkness engulfed the pair as they entered and music blasted around them, Naomi flinched towards Death and grabbed the back of his hoodie sweater as they walked down a dark hallway, following the music until they reached the lively club area. Just like what Death said, crowded with people dancing against each other and bars had no space for people but only area not crowded was the VIP booths. “Stay close to me, Naomi,” Death yelled over his shoulder before they both dived into the sea of people, pushing their way to one of the VIP booths. Death groaning in annoyance as Naomi clenched tightly on the piece of his hoodie sweater until they squeezed themselves out from the crowd, huffing and puffing once out. Once reaching one of the VIP booths, a bouncer stopped Death, only for him to snap a glare up at the man even though the bouncer was ten times bigger and masculine than Death. “Ace, it’s okay, let them through!” A voice called out, and the bouncer stepped aside, Death stomped past the bouncer whilst Naomi lowered her head as she walked past. “What a pleasing surprise!?” Naomi lifted her head, seeing a man sitting comfortably alone in his seat, his drink on the table and a devilish grin on the face. He had perfectly trimmed dark brown hair and cynical eyes, staring at Death and Naomi. “Hiram,” Naomi muttered. “Nice suit,” Death sneered, furrowing his brows as he stared at the perfectly tailored black suit, but Hiram rolled his eyes then leaned in and turned his gaze to Naomi. “A—” “Naomi Hill!” Both Naomi and Death cut Hiram off. Hiram lifted an eyebrow and cleared his throat, “forgive me… Naomi.” He said, leaning back against his seat. “I’m surprise to see you, I mean, how long has it been since I last saw you? I was believing your sweet angel like you won’t want to stay friends with a demon.” “Not that,” Naomi said, shaking her head. “I just needed to—” “Keep the past in the past?” Hiram cuts her off, slowly she lowered her head in shame and Hiram chuckled darkly. “I’ve heard that s**t being said between Leonard and Jeremiah—excuse me, Death. You three act like the best after what we all did! Have you forgotten that I too helped you to stop Lucifer and now that his out, you remember me? The little demon.” Naomi gasped in shock that Hiram knew about Lucifer’s escape. Hiram nodded his head, “I became a demon and I socialise with other demons because my “friends” have somewhat forgotten good old me!” He growled his eyes flashes a dangerous shade of red in rage, but he shook his head then took a sip of his drink. “How sure are you that Lucifer wants my head? I mean, once I was a fallen angel, I chose this life with no hesitation.” Death banged his fists on the table, glaring at Hiram, “you have always thought about yourself and what benefits you, not caring who just hurt along the way. You think he will not bother hunting you even though your demon… Well, sorry to say this, he does not care. You betrayed him at the end and at least we came to you hoping to help you.” He yelled.  Suddenly, screams echoed in the club as people hurried out the exits, Naomi, Death and Hiram all turned their gaze to the dance floor. They gasped in shock, seeing three demons standing in the middle of the dance floor, pale grey skin, tall horns pointing out their heads and the tips of their hands had claws. Flashing their fangs at the three and glaring at them with black as night eyes. “You guys brought them to my club!” Hiram yelled, snapping a glare at Death and Naomi. “How do we know they are not here for you!?” Death yelled back. Before Death and Hiram could continue to argue, the air changed, becoming tenser than it was seconds before. They all turned their gaze at the entrance as Gabriel walked in with a woman beside him. They both held their swords up and glaring at the demons, “Lucifer sent his demons to kill you because you’re a waste of his time, Hiram.” Gabriel said and Hiram gasped in horror while Death grinned over at Hiram. “I’m heartbroken that Lucifer would think of me like that,” Hiram muttered. “So, do you still want to continue running your nightclub?” Death asked.
