* “Good afternoon, football fans! Welcome to the first game of the season for the LA Rams as they take on the Seattle Seahawks in what promises to be an exciting matchup. I'm your commentator, Alfred McKinnon, and I'm here to give you the blow-by-blow account of all the action on the field. The Rams have had a great offseason, picking up some talented players in free agency and looking to improve on their record from last year’s victory at the Super Bowl. They're certainly starting off strong, with Aiden Lambert leading the charge at quarterback. Lambert has already shown his prowess in the preseason, and fans are eagerly anticipating his performance in this first game. The game starts off with the Seahawks on the offensive, but they're quickly shut down by the Rams' defense, which looks sharp and ready to play. The Rams take over possession, and Lambert wastes no time in showing what he can do. He drops back to pass on the first play and launches a deep ball downfield to wide receiver Spencer Brady, who makes a spectacular catch and takes it all the way to the endzone for the first touchdown of the game! The crowd erupts in cheers as the Rams take an early lead, and Lambert looks confident and in control. The Seahawks get the ball back and try to mount a comeback, but the Rams' defense is relentless, led by superstar Aaron Idris. The Seahawks are forced to punt, and the Rams take over again. This time, Lambert decides to mix things up and calls a quarterback sneak, running the ball himself for a few yards. On the next play, he fakes a handoff and runs around the end, dodging defenders and scoring the second touchdown of the game! The Rams are now up 14-0, and it looks like they're going to dominate this game. But what’s this I’m seeing? Oh no! Disaster has struck for the Rams. On the next possession, Lambert drops back to pass and is hit hard by a Seahawks defender. He falls to the ground and doesn't get up, and it's clear that something is wrong. The trainers rush onto the field, and it's clear that Lambert is out cold. The crowd falls silent as they realize that their star quarterback is injured, and the game is suddenly up in the air. The backup quarterback, Jackson Colt, takes over for Lambert, and he's clearly nervous and uncertain. The Rams' offense stalls, and they're forced to punt. The Seahawks take over and mount a comeback, scoring two quick touchdowns to tie the game at 14-14. The Rams' defense looks tired and disorganized, and it's clear that they miss Lambert's leadership and energy. The Rams get the ball back, and Kelly is determined to make something happen. He drops back to pass and finds tight end Tom Higbee for a big gain, and the Rams suddenly look like they might be able to get back in the game. But on the next play, Kelly is hit hard by another Seahawks defender, and he's slow to get up. The Rams are now down to their third-string quarterback, and things are looking dire. The rest of the game is a battle of wills, with both teams fighting tooth and nail to gain the upper hand. The Seahawks take the lead with a field goal, but the Rams come back with a touchdown of their own, thanks to a heroic effort by running back Darrell Henderson. The game is tied at 21-21, and it looks like it's going to come down to the wire. With time running out, the Seahawks mount one last drive, hoping to get into field goal range and win the game. But the Rams' defense holds strong, with Donald sacking the quarterback and forcing a fumble. The Rams recover the ball and run out the clock, and the game ends in a thrilling tie. What an epic start to the season, and let’s just hope that Lambert’s injuries aren’t as dire as they seem to be.” - Aiden slowly opened his eyes, his head throbbing with a blinding pain which was slowly spreading across his forehead. He blinked a few times to adjust to the bright light above him and groaned when he realized he was in a hospital room. He tried to move, but he was strapped to several medical equipment, his body aching all over. The last thing he remembered was the lights of the stadium, and the roar of the crowd as the feverish tempo of the game enveloped him completely. He couldn’t remember what exactly knocked him out, but it had to be something serious if he ended up in the hospital because of it. As he tried to remember what had happened, he suddenly noticed a strange man sitting in a chair across the room. The man had a confident grin on his face, his sharp eyes fixed on Aiden. He was a tall and dark man with a hooded gaze, a sharp jawline and a scar across the left side of his face which looked like he had been slashed by a blade of some sort. Aiden couldn't help but feel uneasy as he tried to sit up, but the straps kept him in place. He was aware that the man was watching him, but he didn’t make any attempt to speak so Aiden remained silent. "Well, well, well," the man said finally, his voice smooth and confident. "Look who's awake. I must say, I'm impressed. You took quite the hit, but you're still breathing." Aiden's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he stared at the man. "Who are you?" he asked, his voice hoarse. The man chuckled. "Oh, you'll find out soon enough," he said, still grinning. "For now, let me just say that I'm a big fan of your recent victory over Alpha Luke of the Lamia pack." Aiden's eyes widened in shock. "How do you know about that?" he asked, his mind racing. The man leaned back in his chair, his arms crossed. "Let's just say that I have my sources," he said cryptically. Aiden tried to move again, but the straps held him firmly in place. "Why am I here?" he asked, feeling more and more uneasy by the second. The man's grin widened. "Ah, that's the question, isn't it?" he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "Let's just say that I’ve been watching you for a while now, and I was always of the belief that I would rather admire your work from afar. But recent events have made it clear that you and I would need to meet face to face, especially given the rumours of your return, of course." Aiden frowned. "What are you talking about?" The man leaned forward, his eyes glittering with a strange intensity. "I'm talking about your return to your former position as the Lycan king," he said, his voice low and ominous. Aiden's eyes widened in shock. "The Lycan king?" he repeated, pretending not to know what the man was talking about. The man nodded. "Please don’t insult my intelligence by playing dumb with me, Alpha Aiden. You and I both know that recently, you’ve been considering whether it’s wise to retake your rightful place as the Lycan king of the south, and return the Nightwalkers to their former glory days of old." Aiden shook his head, pretending to be confused. "I don't know what you’re talking about," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. The man stood up, his face serious. "Oh, you will, Aiden. You will," he said, his voice firm. "But for now, I just want you to know that you need to watch your back. There are people who would love to see you fail, and they won't hesitate to use any means necessary to bring you down." Aiden's heart stilled in his chest as he watched the man walk out of the room. He had no idea what was going on, but he couldn't shake the feeling that his life was about to change in ways he couldn't even imagine. As he lay there, strapped to the medical equipment, he couldn't help but think about the man's words. Who exactly was he? And how did he find out about his plan to be renamed as the Lycan king? Aiden hadn’t discussed that with anyone except Bella and his mother. Who could have found out then? He tried to move again, but the straps held him firmly in place. As he lay there, his mind racing, he couldn't help but wonder what his future held. Maybe this was a sign that becoming the lycan king again wasn’t a good idea. Life was good after the battle with the Lamias and Aiden had never been happier. He was happily married to the love of his life, he had achieved his lifelong dream of winning the Super Bowl, and everything seemed so perfect for a while now. So why did he get the feeling that all of that was about to change? The door to the hospital room opened, and Bella stepped inside. Her eyes widened with relief when she saw that Aiden was awake, and she rushed over to his side. Aiden felt his heart melt at the sight of her, and the look of concern which lined her face. It had been six months since they got married, and yet it always felt like it happened only yesterday. "Thank God you're okay," Bella said, her voice soft and tender. "I was so worried." Aiden smiled weakly at her. "I'm fine, my love," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Bella leaned in and kissed him gently on the forehead. "You need to stop getting injured in every game, you know," she said, her tone lighthearted. Aiden managed a small laugh. "I'll try," he said, wincing as he tried to shift position. Bella noticed his discomfort and frowned. "How come it still hurts?" she asked, her voice full of concern. “Shouldn’t you have healed up by now?” “I thought so too,” he replied. “But I don’t know why I’m still like this.” “I’ll have to speak with your mother about this,” Bella said. “I’m sure we can figure out a solution.” Aiden hesitated for a moment before replying. "We need to be careful, Bella," he said, his voice serious. Bella's eyes narrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?" Aiden sighed. "I can't explain it," he said, his voice cryptic. "Just… be careful around everyone, okay? We don't know who we can trust." Bella's brow furrowed in worry. "What are you talking about, Aiden?" she asked, her voice tense. Aiden shook his head. "I don't know," he admitted. "It's just… something doesn't feel right. There was a man here earlier who was talking about the Lycan king… I don't know who he is, but I don't trust him." Bella's eyes widened in shock. "The Lycan king?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. Aiden nodded. "I know I only spoke about it with you and my mother. So if he knows about it, there must be something wrong somewhere. I need to get to the bottom of this." Bella's hand tightened around Aiden's, her eyes full of worry. "We'll figure this out together," she said, her voice strong and determined. "Whatever it takes, we'll keep each other safe." Aiden managed a weak smile. "I know," he said, his voice soft. "I'm just glad you're here with me, Bella. You make everything better." Bella smiled back at him, her eyes shining with love. "That's what mates are for, Aiden," she said, her tone affectionate. "We take care of each other, no matter what." Aiden's heart swelled with love for her as she leaned in and kissed him again, soft and gentle. They were both so wrapped up in their love and affection that they didn’t even notice when the door opened once again, until the person who entered cleared their throat, startling the two. “You two make me sick,” Ava said with a smile on her face as they turned to face her. *
