Chapter 8: Out of Control
Kasinda picked up the Darillian’s beampistol. “Well, we’ve got one gun now, ourselves,” she said. Then, looking around the room, added, “But he sure did a lot of damage with that one wild shot.”
“What do we do about the drive?” Kherris asked. “Should we shut it off and immobilize it again, or leave it on as it is?”
“Either way will disrupt their plans,” Kasinda explained. “I’ve got it on manual override now, which means they can’t shut it off from the bridge. Continual acceleration is as impossible for them as no acceleration; they won’t be able to maneuver properly to get to a starpath.”
