But Alex gradually learned that Dobi had assets to compensate for his nervous nature. He could grasp and manipulate objects quite dexterously with any of his six hands. Since wallinors were nocturnal animals, Dobi’s large eyes could see very well even in limited light. His most important trait, though, was his intelligence; he had the comprehension level of a four-year-old child, and Alex was constantly amazed that Kasinda could give her pet a set of complex instructions and have Dobi follow them with absolute precision. Kasinda took great pride in his accomplishments, and remarked more than once how useful Dobi was to have around.
