Chapter 11Johnny was barely parked when Sharon opened the door. She stepped out; her arms crossed. “I called and texted you twice.” “I know,” Johnny said, checking his phone. He had ignored his mom’s texts. He texted Zach that he made it home. Zach responded quickly. Sweet dreams. “Where were you?” Sharon asked. “I made a food delivery at Carpenter Island.” Johnny walked inside, past his mom, and toed his shoes off. “This late?” Sharon shouted. “Technically we do food deliveries until one A.M.” Johnny took his shirt off and stripped off his shorts. “Your restaurant’s open 24/7.” “At least you know where I’m at, and I haven’t pulled a late shift in a long time.” “I’m tired, Mom.” Johnny headed to the bathroom.
