The King's Birthday2

"At all times, stay behind me!" Mara called out to Kira, forcefully pulling her back and shielding her from the Rogues who had attacked one of the humans. They both stood there, watching in horror as the Rogues brutally tore the human apart, dismembering his body until they had their fill. Kira screamed, witnessing the blood pooling like a river and staining the Arena floor. Amidst the gruesome scene, the wolves cheered, including their King, who observed with twisted amusement. Kira never expected the werewolves to revel in the death of a human, treating them as if they were insignificant. She clung tightly to Mara, desperately hoping to never let go. As the Rogues finished with the first victim, they turned their attention to the other humans, lunging at them in search of their next prey. A woman, seemingly in her twenties, fearlessly approached the Rogues, defying them. She directed her gaze toward the king and shouted defiantly. "You will all face punishment for treating humans like garbage, and you..." Before she could finish her words, one of the rogue wolves slashed her throat. The woman choked, clutching her neck as crimson liquid pooled around her before collapsing to the ground. The Rogues dragged her towards them and tore her apart, limb from limb. "This is cruel!" Kira screamed, unable to bear witness to the Rogues' savage actions. Overwhelmed by the sight, she vomited the contents of her stomach. "They have an animalistic side; they are not like humans. We need to survive this hunt, and we will," Mara reassured Kira, holding her hand firmly. "I hope so," Kira replied, turning her gaze towards the king, who locked eyes with her. His predatory stare fixed upon her, akin to a hawk targeting its prey. They held each other's gaze until Mara took Kira's hand and broke their connection. With the woman's brutal demise, the Rogues encircled the remaining humans, their lips smeared with blood, awaiting the opportune moment to attack. Growling, they instilled fear in the humans, who moved together in a circle, desperate to avoid being the next victims. One woman, trembling violently, lost control and urinated on herself. "Please... spare me," the woman pleaded for her life, but instead, she was dragged by the legs to a corner by one of the Rogues. Unlike their previous frenzy, they now chose their victims deliberately, tearing them apart piece by piece. "Everyone is going to die!" Emily screamed, moving behind a man. "I won't cry," she declared, though her body trembled uncontrollably. The Rogue wolves returned to them, leaving their victims behind. "Ahhhhhhh," Felicia exclaimed as she was seized by one of the Rogues. "Be careful and make sure you survive!" She gave her friend Sandra one last smile, tears welling up in her eyes. They had been together since their abduction, supporting each other. Sandra collapsed to her knees, sobbing, as she watched her friend dragged away to a corner. Felicia's heart was ripped from her chest, and she let out a piercing scream. One of the Rogues targeted her, preparing to attack, but Phaedra stood in front of Sandra, shielding her from the Rogue. "You cannot harm my friends or us!" Phaedra bravely confronted the Rogue wolf, positioning herself defensively. As they witnessed the impending confrontation between Phaedra and the Rogue Wolf, a heavy silence descended upon the Arena. "It seems that one of the humans has challenged the Rogues to a duel!" The Announcer proclaimed, and the Arena fell into hushed anticipation. They ridiculed Phaedra, considering her act of defiance foolish. "She's inviting her death!" "A worthless human daring to face a werewolf. She must be insane!" "Oh, I can't wait to witness the wolves tearing her apart!" "How foolish of her. She's sealed her fate." Phaedra swiftly jumped, delivering a powerful kick to the First Rogue's jaw as it lunged at her. She followed up with a forceful blow to the Rogue's stomach, sending it tumbling away from the humans. "You may not be aware, but I served in the Army for fifteen years," she boasted, pumping herself up. Relieved, the humans cheered, seeing that Phaedra had repelled one of the Rogues. "It seems this human possesses enough power to stand against the Rogues!" The Announcer declared. The wolves cursed and disparaged Phaedra, who remained steadfast before the humans, bracing herself for the Rogues' next assault. "Go for it!" she challenged them. "She seems to possess a fiery spirit!" the Announcer exclaimed, his voice amplified through the Megaphone. "It's a pity she's digging her own grave so early," he sneered. The other Rogue wolves closed in on the first Rogue, who had been attacked by Phaedra, growling at it, demanding that it rise. Instead of focusing on Phaedra, who stood before them, the three Rogues charged at the humans, roaring as they lunged forward, mercilessly attacking the defenseless victims. In their rage, they clawed, bit, and tore out their hearts, yet none of them approached Phaedra. "I don't want to die!" Emily yelled, pushing the woman in front of her towards the Rogues as they charged. "We're going to perish!" Kira screamed, feeling helpless as the Rogues continued their relentless assault on the humans. "Phaedra has provoked them!" she cried out, tightly gripping Mara's hand. Overwhelmed by the horrific scene, Kira closed her eyes, unable to bear witness as the Rogue wolves slaughtered the humans. Blood splattered on her face as a woman in front of her was torn apart. "Attack me!" Phaedra shouted, but the Rogues ignored her. "Stop being cowards!" she yelled, wiping away the tears that stained her cheeks. The Rogues remained indifferent until five of them, including Sandra, sat on the ground awaiting their inevitable deaths. Kira, Mara, Emily, and Phaedra stood together, determined to survive. "The King has decided to spare the humans, allowing them to flee for their lives while the Rogues give chase!" the Announcer announced. "Once caught, they will be attacked and killed by the Rogues." "Yes!" the wolves chanted in unison within the Arena. In an instant, the gate to the Dungeon swung open, and Kira and the girls turned their attention toward it. "This is our chance!" Mara whispered to Kira, pulling her into a quick embrace. "We have to make it through this," she urged. "Yes, we must," Kira agreed, resolved. The Announcer blew a whistle, signaling the humans to flee. "The gate is just a few meters away!" Emily dashed forward, but she tripped over a fallen human and tumbled to the ground. "No!" Kira screamed as the Rogues swiftly closed in on Emily, mercilessly assaulting her. They slashed at her with their claws as she shrieked in agony. "I refuse to die!" were Emily's final words as her heart was mercilessly ripped from her chest. "No!" Kira screamed, covering her face with her hands. "She wasn't supposed to die!" she sobbed. "This is not the time to grieve!" Phaedra yelled at her. "We've been given a chance to survive by running, and we'll take it!" She urged them, her voice filled with determination. "We have to make it through this! Who's with me?" "I am," Mara said, nudging Kira on the shoulder. "Me too," Kira affirmed, as they both turned to face Sandra. "I will live and avenge Felicia's death," Sandra declared, her voice trembling as she clenched her fist. "Let's go!" Phaedra whistled, and they all began running for their lives, with the Rogues in relentless pursuit. As they fled, the Rogues growled ominously. Except for Kira, who turned to catch a glimpse of the pursuing wolves, the girls ran without looking back. Kira stumbled momentarily, but Mara tightened her grip on Kira's hand and fell instead. "Go!" Mara shouted at Kira. "You must survive and see your father again." She offered Kira a reassuring smile. "No, I won't leave you," Kira insisted, reaching out her hand for Mara to take. "We're in this together."
