Greyson
Almost done.
I was at Lola’s house helping the siblings with their stuff. I’d been helping them since yesterday because Lola had so many books in her room. They were all separated into two large boxes. And since I didn’t have a car, I had to rent one for moving all her stuff and to take Dylan to the airport. I rented a Frontier because I thought the truck could fit all the stuff.
I changed my mind; I would definitely buy a car just as a precaution.
I remembered how Dylan explained everything to Lola. She wasn’t that shocked when Dylan announced that he had to go to Canada for work purposes. Surprisingly, she encouraged him. Well, she knew being a Doctor was Dylan’s dream since he was a child and she didn’t want to stop him from achieving that dream.
And she wasn’t shocked either that she had to say with me because what she said once Dylan told her that was how excited she was. Therefore, that was clearly a green light to me. Or a simple red light.
I didn’t know whether to be happy or not.
Happy, because I would be having Lola 24/7.
To hold back, that could be un-f*****g-questionable.
First of all, I was a man.
Second, Lola was my crush.
And third, since I was a man and couldn’t lay my hands on my crush, I could only rely on my hands to satisfy myself.
Yes, I never looked for another woman. I was using my imagination to satisfy my inner beast. Although I had so many chances, women practically threw themselves to me on daily basis, I just couldn’t do it. They did nothing to my d**k. To people who didn’t know me, they saw me as a bad boy type who always fed my d**k to any chicks I could find. Maybe doing a threesome or foursome. f*****g someone from I opened my eyes until I closed them.
No, I didn’t do any of those.
Why?
Because my attention was fully on Lola.
I woke up in the morning with her as the first person I thought of and I fell asleep with her as the last thing in my mind.
My world was around Lola. She had me completely wrapped in her fingers. I was practically whipped.
“All set.” I put the last baggage onto the truck. Most of Lola’s stuff was already in my penthouse and we’re going to take Dylan to the airport.
I turned to the house with Lola, seeing the place where they had been living since Dylan got his first paycheck. He had saved some money since college. He was working part-time before as a waiter. There were so many memories in that house although it was just a rental house. Just them and with me and Faye also Owen.
Dylan finally turned, smiled at his sister, and escorted her to the truck. Lola sat on the back while Dylan had the front. I went to the driver’s seat and kicked the accelerator to Logan International Airport.
We weren’t talking. No, we’re not fighting. Perhaps the siblings were thinking about how things changed suddenly. Well, including me. I had to admit, Dylan was like my big brother I never had. I was the only son and I didn’t mind that. But by having Dylan as my friend, he was kind of filling the big brother’s position I never had.
I was so going to miss him.
We reached the airport as I helped Dylan with all his luggage. Once we had them all, it was time for him to check-in.
“Okay, I’ll be going now, Lola,” he parted with his sister but she didn’t say anything. She was so quiet and I looked down at her, finding her brown eyes already watery. Oh, s**t. “Lola?”
She wiped her unshed tears with the back of her sweater. “Do you have to go?” And her words pained my heart. No, Lola was nowhere okay. Although I was going to miss Dylan, it was Lola who was going to miss her big brother terribly. She had me but it was Dylan who was always there for her. She was a crybaby since a long ago but she always tried to act tough which obviously, she didn’t do a good job in it. She could just be emotional, cry if she liked, beg him to not go when Dylan announced his departure today but instead, she was encouraging him. She was bad wearing a poker face.
Dylan put down his duffel bag and pulled his sister to his embrace. “I don’t want to go, sister. I can’t leave you alone. But I have to, you know that, right?”
“I know it’s for your dream and I don’t want to prevent you to achieved it but,” she paused as she sobbed on his hold. “I’m going to miss you.”
“I’m going to miss you too. I will miss your cooking. You waking me up in the morning. Even your scolding me when I forgot to take a break. I will miss you so much,” Dylan said and he flicked his eyes to me. “Greyson will take care of you. I trust him, Lola.” Guess what? I could hear a bit of a threatening tone from him. Yeah, he might be letting me woo his sister but that didn’t mean I could do it in the wrong way and make her cry. He would fly his ass back from Canada to Boston in a second and said how he missed me by punching my face.
Dylan looked calm and demure, but do not ever poke him by messing around with his sister. He was like a silent beast while I was the raging bull.
The siblings detached themselves as Dylan cupped her cheeks and kissed her forehead. “I love you, Lola.”
“I love you too, Dylan.” Oh, how I wished she would say that to me too.
Dylan let her go and picked up his bag and turned to me, pulling me to his embrace too. “I’m going to miss you too. Take care of my sister for me, will you?”
I wrapped my arms around his back. “I will, brother.”
“Oh, and do it gently,” he whispered in my ear. f**k me, I wish I could.
I hope his sister won’t poke me.
We let go of each other and Dylan went inside the security gate. He turned to us one last time by waving his hand as Lola and I waved back until he was completely gone from our sight.
Goodbye, Dylan. For now.
It was just the two of us now.
I looked down at Lola and she still had tears in her eyes. She kept looking at the security gate even when her brother was not there anymore. Oh, dear.
I wiped her tears gently with my thumb and grabbed her chin so she would look at me. “Dylan will be alright. I’ve promised him to take care of you so I will,” I vowed and she smiled.
“I’m like a child, huh?”
“No, you’re not. It’s normal for you to cry because a family is going to be far away from you and you will feel lonely. But you don’t need to feel lonely with me around,” I tried to cheer her up and she giggled. f**k, that was the cutest!
“I know I won’t.”
I smiled back and escorted her back to the truck. Heading to my penthouse.
When we arrived, I parked the truck and we jumped out, grabbing the remaining luggage. We walked inside, seeing Robert, my fifty-six-year-old concierge there. “Hey, Robert.”
“Mr. King,” he greeted back and his eyes went to Lola. “Miss Summer. So, I will be seeing you every day from now on.”
“Yes, I think we will, Robert,” Lola said.
We walked past him and rode the elevator after I pressed the code, heading to my penthouse. “You shouldn’t be doing that while having someone else with you,” Lola commented.
“What do you mean?”
“I can see the code.”
“I don’t mind you know the code and you’re going to stay here. How the hell are you going to go up if you don’t know the code?”
“Oh, right.”
“And it’s not like you’re going to tell somebody, aren’t you?”
“Nope.”
From all people, Lola was the only person who knew my code. Not even Dylan, or Owen, even Faye. Just Lola.
Because she was special.
We arrived. I allowed Lola to go out first and seeing her scanning inside.
Another fun fact about me; I could clean my house by myself. Sometimes I would do it while waiting for Lola if I didn’t want to go to the garage. Maybe I should thank her for that. At least I could live independently.
“Your penthouse is clean as always,” she commented and that made me beam a smile.
“You’re going to be cleaning it from now on,” I teased.
She turned around. “I wanted to say that I’m not your maid but since you’ve kind enough to let me stay, I will do it.”
“You don’t have to push yourself. You’re working every day too and you can do whatever you want her.”
“Thank you, Greyson.”
I escorted her to the bedroom on the second floor. She entered and looked around while I put down her remaining luggage. “This room is my favorite.” I knew it. She turned around and said, “Thank you.”
Nodding my head, I said, “Well, take your time unpacking your stuff.” I eyed them, especially her two large boxes contained with her books. Because of her, I had bought a massive bookshelf to be put in here but I chose to not let her know. “I will be in my office you need anything.”
“Sure. Oh, what would you like for dinner?”
“My favorite.”
She smiled and nodded her head. “Meatloaf it is.”
