25. Wife, an Equal Companion

Rosabelle's POV-

"Rose, get up and take a bath. I can't lie to him next time. He has been here two times already and if the third time I again lie that you are sleeping, then it won't be good for either of us." Nina shakes me but I'm not yet ready to leave the bed. I don't want to see him just yet.

Why is her here anyway?

I get up and Nina smiles brightly to cheer me up. She prepares my bath and after getting ready, I decide to be in my chamber. Not just because of what happened the other night, but because this is my plan.

My plan of pretending to fall sick and then leaving the castle tonight to get back to my previous home.

I have to leave tonight, more like escape and reach there while everybody would think that I've fallen sick.

"Rose, Tina and Ana are here." Nina says while guiding the both girls inside.

"Hey, girls! How is life going?" I ask them as they greet me before Ana comes over to me.

"It's definitely better than picking up horses cut off balls." She says rolling her eyes.

"What about you, Tina?"

"Nothing special. I'm just making sure, her tongue stays put when needed." She says making Ana throw a glare at her.

"Honestly, here, there are quiet a lot restrictions. Otherwise, out in the forest, I could curse out loud and no one would care. I wish I could go there, even for a little while." Ana says pouting before Nina comes up with a solution.

"Well, you can, but as a trader to another Kingdom." She says.

"Ugh! We'll have to work there." Ana grumbles.

"Well then, the Kingdom has vast lands, you can run freely there and curse as well." She then says.

"No, people could hear us and we are no princesses here. But we can escape and then go for a little while. What do you say, my Queen?" Ana asks with lit eyes.

"Not any time soon, Ana. I'm not feeling well today and I need to make sure I'm well enough to go to my brother's coronation tomorrow." I say and she again pouts.

"You mean your cousin, Richmond? I think you would have been an amazing queen." She says and I smile.

"Wait, how do you know my cousin's name?" I ask her.

"We hear when people gossip, my Queen." Tina says and I nod.

People already believe he'll be the King. They don't know what he might have to go through tomorrow.

"Well, I'm sorry but it won't be today or tomorrow. Let's see anytime later if we can go, yeah?" I ask her and she nods with tight lips.

"We wanted to go to the forbidden lake, you know. It's peaceful there." Ana says.

"Peaceful? I thought you'd scary." I say.

"Well, the only reason why it's peaceful is because it is scary. No one dares to go there. It was nice hideout for us." She says.

"Have you ever seen it glow on your birthday?" She then asks.

"How do you know that it glows on my birthday?"

"Gossip, my Queen. People talk." Tina says smiling and I return it.

"Well, I have never seen it. Father never let me got near it." I say.

"Have you seen the rain of fire then?" She then asks.

"Umm... no. Not that as well." I say.

"Do you know much about Dragons and Sorcerers, my Queen. Sorry, but I saw the books with you yesterday." She says and remembering the books, I bring them to her.

I remember Dargan's words but who cares?

"Here it is. It says after the great war, the Sorcerers hid under the water which is now the forbidden lake and the Dragons

found home in a big mountain? How is that possible?" I ask.

"How is it possible to live under water as well then?" Tina says smiling.

"Why does nobody dares to go there?" I ask.

"If you do, they will rain fire on you. That's what is believed, but with time now people think of them of myths ended long ago." Tina says.

"Why did even the Great War occur?"

"Well, we are cunning." Ana says.

"Hey! It says that the Sorcerers and Dragons planned against us." Nina is quick to defend.

"Well, we don't know if the history was changed. The man would write what his master said. And the master said what he wanted like you to remember." Ana says.

"Why—

Before they could continue, the door to the chamber opens and in comes the man I had specifically told not to come without my permission, let alone barge inside.

"Alpha King."

"Alpha."

"Alpha." All greet him bowing before he dismisses them like anything.

I see the three girls move out leaving me with Dargan alone. I turn around as soon as they leave and start closing the book.

The two seconds silence tells me what is to happen and I brace myself for it.

"You showed the books to them?" He questions me, clearly angry.

"I was reading when they came in." I say before picking them up and moving to the table.

"And you didn't think you should've hidden them before they came?"

"They are allowed to come without knocking." I say while arranging them on the table just to buy myself time from looking at him.

"I came to you two times and both the times your royal ass was sleeping, but you have time for your friends?" He asks accusingly.

"Of course, I do. Your timing wasn't good perhaps." I say and suddenly feel him right behind me. His hands falls beside me and cage me as I feel his anger vibrating off him.

"Were you ignoring me deliberately?" He whispers lowly while slowly reaching mg wrists and caging with his.

"I do not feel well."

"And yet you allowed your friends in?"

"Yes, I did! And I will! They at least aren't two faced assholes and if even I were to admit in front of them that I cheated on you, they still won't believe me! Now, let me go!" I say struggling against him but be pushes his body on mine completely.

"I already apologised for that." He says and I scoff.

"How many times would you apologise? You'll again doubt me and hurt me and again apologise to me. That's not how it works!"

"Then understand my temper and do not talk to any man! Understand I get angry and don't do anything that makes me angry! As my wife, it is your duty! And the next time, I won't apologise!" He yells at me and my lips part in shock again.

"I'm your wife. I'm not your servant or your w***e who'd come back to you even after you humiliate me. I demand the same respect!" I say.

"I misunderstood! I even f*****g apologised! And it isn't even a bid deal! I did what I thought was appropriate and I have all the rights to do so!" He says and I bite my tongue from saying anything harsh.

You need to act weak, Rose. You can't let him know that you are perfectly fine. You can't let him ruin your plans.

"Okay." I say and feel his grip loosen on my wrists. I turn around still caged by him and look into his eyes.

"It isn't a big deal, is it? Then you must go. I'm sure there are works which ask your attention. You shouldn't waste your time here checking out how your wife is feeling." I say and see a little frown on his face before he turns serious again as if he remembered that he isn't supposed to show any emotions.

"Yes, It isn't a big deal. I have matters that need my attention. And I believe you too. You need to make preparations for leaving tomorrow to Might Moon Kingdom. I'd suggest you behave yourself or your stay here will become must and your absence there wouldn't please your parents." He says and search my face for any reactions but I give none.

I release a sigh when he keeps staring at me before I open my mouth to say something.

"What is—"

Dargan shuts me up with a rough kiss and bends me on the table backwards. His one hand hold my wrists behind my back and the other roams freely on my back.

The kiss reminds me of the one we shared yesterday in the library, in the same position.

Dargan feasts on my lips as the last bite of his favourite meal and my stomach churns. I feel the heat through his hand even if my back is covered and his irritation is displayed through the kiss. I feel his hands grabbing the fabric on my back and predicting his intention, I turn my head escaping from he kiss. I breathe heavily while he dips his head in my neck and bites my skin. His grip tightening on the fabric covering my back fills me with fear and I wriggle in his grip.

"Don't tear it." I whisper and his hard eyes snap to me while his grip yet tightens.

"You have other matters to take care of, don't you?" I quickly say and true to my expectations, he steps back.

"Yes, I do." He says and walks away.

I take a breath of relief and run to the mirror to make sure I look presentable. But I notice a big red mark on my neck.

He left his mark on me. He hurt me and left his mark on me.

I trace the red mark with my fingers before covering it completely when I hear the three girls walk upto me.

"My queen, what happened?" Ana asks and tries to come close to me but I hold my hand up in the air stopping her.

"I don't feel good. Leave me." I say and move towards my bed without glancing at anyone.

I don't understand you, Dargan. You were so good to me just yesterday and now you think you can do anything to me just because I'm your wife. You are wrong! I'll make sure you respect me as your wife and we both can see our own different paths! I am your wife, your equal.
