Heaven Venezia:- "I can't believe it. I can't believe you are alive, my son. We....we thought you died, that you have left us." Lucianna cried after throwing her arms around Giovanni who tensed and looked at me with a lost expression and pleaded with me with his eyes to help him out. "We all gave hope but your wife didn't. Heaven didn't. She kept on searching for you and screaming that you were alive." Matteo joined in the hug and they three looked complete again. Mother, father, and son, but it hurts that Giovanni doesn't remember them. "Why aren't you saying anything, son?" Lucianna asked after breaking the hug and caressing Giovanni's cheek " Are you okay? Why do you look all shocked and lost?" "Mom, Dad. There is something you both need to know." I spoke and looked to their side at Cedric and Flora who were as shocked as everyone else to see him alive "Giovanni. He doesn't remember anything. He has lost his memories after falling down the hill, but with the help of good care and medical treatment he is going to be fine and remember everything." This silenced Matteo and Lucianna who frowned, her hand dropping from Giovanni’s face as her smile disappeared. They seemed to go from relieved, and then to baffled. "What do you mean, Heaven?" Lucianna asked her question in disbelief and the tinge of a choking terror in her voice. "He doesn’t remember us? You're saying that my own son doesn't remember his mother?" Once again I forced back the tears that wanted to start in my throat as the pain of their feeling was crushing me, but I needed to be strong, for Giovanni and everyone. I should know that they will feel the same thing I am feeling with his memory loss, but at this moment, their feelings matter because they are aged and don't need to suffer the loss of their only son. "It’s the fall from the hill… the trauma he has received… it...it has harmed his memory. During the flight, I have already called the best doctors from all around the world and they agreed to come here to Italy as soon as possible, and they assured me that Giovanni was going to remember everything as it going just be a temporary amnesia." I attempted to console them. Giovanni was standing very erect, and his fists were clenching and unclenching by his side. His eyes were constantly shifting between me, and his parents, and didn’t know how to process the outburst of affection he never understood. Giovanni looked at his mother with a painful expression and spoke "I apologize, I wish I could remember, but I don’t. Please forgive me." Gasping for breath Lucianna covered her mouth with her hands and tears welled up in her eyes. Matteo advanced one step, and despite the taut musculature of his exterior, his hand trembled as it fell on Giovanni’s shoulder. "You’re alive. That’s all that counts for now my son. Memories or not, you are still our son, and like Heaven said, it is just temporary. Your memories will be back in no time." Gio nodded but the tension did not clear from his gaze. "It's odd," I agreed, and then cautiously he looked at me and spoke. " I know you said this is my home....our home and I should be feeling something, but at this moment everything seems to be… empty. I am sorry. I just wish I could remember." Slightly moving closer I reached my hand to his arm. "It’s okay, Gio. You will remember all of them, alright? We will fight through it, and we will do so as one united and strong couple. Okay?" Another wave of tension washed through us but Cedric beat it by speaking suddenly saying something that sounded like, "Well, erm. We’re just glad you’re back man. We missed you." "Ummm, I am sorry, but who are you?" Giovanni asked and Cedric placed his hand on his heart dramatically trying to hide the pain in his eyes, by trying to be funny "You wounded me there, brother. You said that you would never forget your best friend but you did. I am so deeply wounded." "Is he always this dramatic?" Giovanni mumbles beside me and I chuckled nodding my head. "Yes," I answered "But he will kill for you, Gio. You loved and cared about him like your own brother." he nodded nervously and looked at Flora. "Who is she?" he asked and Flora smiled waving her hand at Giovanni and stepped forward. "I am Flora, Cedric's wife, and Heaven's best friend." she says with tears in her eyes "Just please, I request you for one thing. You don't have to remember all of us, just please remember her." she said pointing at me "She always believed you were alive, even after you fell from that hill she believed you were alive and almost got killed. She loves you so much, just try to remember for her." But before I can speak or Giovanni can respond to Flora's request, came the excited voice of Gabriella who came running in the hallways after getting herself free from her nanny and threw her little arms around Giovanni's leg and shrieked. "Papa!" she shouts out of happiness after looking at her father for what feels like an eternity " I am so happy you are back home from your business trip. I missed you so much, Papa, and now I am not going to let you go anywhere." I tried to lean down to speak with Gabriella and try to make her innocent baby mind understand that her father doesn't remember anything but Giovanni beat me to it, by doing something really unexpected or saying something unexpected. "Hey, mi belle principessa. ( My beautiful princess)" Giovanni murmurs after getting down on his knees and hugs Gabriella when she begins to cry in her father's arms, due to the sudden emotions "Sssh, don't cry. Papa is home and not going anywhere." "How?" I asked shocked. "How what?" he asked confused. "How do you know you call her Principessa?" I asked, taking back his endearment for our daughter.
