Heaven Venezia:- "Gabriella Venezia, you little she-devil." came my dangerous husband's booming yet worried voice from the hallway of our beautiful Venezia mansion in Italy. I stood up instantly, knowing that if it was Gabriella, then it meant trouble, blessing her father with high blood pressure. Our daughter might be four now, but she is a handful. She always manages to keep us on our toes. "What happened? What did she do now?" I went running downstairs with our one-year-old son Lorenzo in my arms. What I saw stopped me dead in my tracks. Little Gabriella stood with a sharp dagger in her hands, giggling and moving it around like it was some sort of an ordinary plaything. Giovanni was on his knees, trying to get the dagger from our daughter's hand, but carefully, making sure that in the attempt to take it from her hand, she didn't end up getting hurt in any way. "Ho...How did she get that?" I asked, keeping my voice calm, as I took steady steps forward "I gave you strict order to keep your weapons out of our house, Giovanni." "I freaking did, H," Giovanni growls, with clenched teeth, in worry and fear. His eyes never moved from Gabriella. This little girl is his biggest weakness. One single scratch on her skin, and he would be ready to burn down the whole world. Do you think he is overprotective of me? No, since the day he became a father to a daughter, his overprotectiveness knows no limit to stop, but somehow Gabriella always manages to put him in this position, on his knees. The great Mafia King, a ruthless Don, was on his knees, in fear. Only our daughter is capable of doing that. The man everyone fears and trembles with just the mention of his name and yet, right now he was the one trembling. As much as I wanted to record this situation and tease him, I couldn't because of our daughter who could get hurt. I looked over at Rick, Giovani's underboss, standing a few feet away, watching the drama. Rick wasn't just Giovanni's underboss, but his best friend too, who knew Giovanni could handle the situation in seconds but was scared to do so. "Rick, can you look after Lorenzo while I handle this?" I asked Rick who smiled, his facial expression lightning up after looking at Lorenzo. He took him from my arms and showered him with soft feathery kisses all over his chubby little face. I knelt down beside Giovanni, eyes fixed on Gabriella and a smile on my face. "Mommy, look! I have got a shiny little sword like Papa." Gabriella announced excitedly waving the dagger in the air "It's so beautiful and shiny, just like Papa told me in that bedtime princess story, where a prince with a shiny sword comes and saves the princess from the big scary dragon." "It's dangerous, you little she-devil, not beautiful," Giovanni mumbled under his breath. I glared at him and took a deep breath, moving a little closer to Gabriella and holding my hand out, in front of her. "Gabriella, sweetheart, may you please hand over your shiny little sword to Mama, It's sharp and not a toy. You can get hurt." I said in a sweet and gentle voice. Her eyes similar to Giovanni’s sparkled with mischief as she tightly gripped the dagger scared that I would take her new toy away. Damn right, I will. Because it is not a toy but a heart attack. "But Mama, it’s fun! It’s like the swords Papa has!" she said with an adorable pout. Giovanni drew in a quick, deep breath, and it was plain that he felt nervous. "I understand, sweetheart; however, those swords are tools that Papa uses in his work. They are not toys. Papa uses those tools to protect us like a dragon in your bedtime stories protects their treasure. You should give them to me and I promise Papa will get you something else that is shiny and beautiful." I tried to talk her out of it. For a moment, Gabriella contemplated it, her tiny features frowning in deep thinking as a child does. But then something changed and almost as if realizing the serious tone of the conversation she relaxed her features, and with a small laugh, she passed me the dagger. A sense of relief engulfed me, and I exhaled, a breath I never knew I was holding in my lungs. Giovanni took hold of Gabriella as quickly as he could and wrapped his arms tightly around her, his hand shaking as he did so. "You frightened Papa, Principessa," he murmured softly and visibly shaken. I got up slowly, placing the dagger down on a nearby table, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. "Giovanni, I’m dead serious about the weapons. She’s getting to be too clever for her own good." He slowly lifted his head to stare at me, his expression filled with guilt and fear. "I assure you, all my belongings are safely locked. I don’t know how she had access to it, H. I’ll review the security measures. It won’t happen again." Giovanni assured as Rick approached me, to pass Lorenzo and take the dagger back to safety. I leaned forward to kiss Gabriella then Lorenzo who giggled and clapped his hand out of joy, unaware of what his sister just did right now. I just love my life so much and all the credit goes to my handsome electric blue-eyed husband. "Hey, little guy," Giovanni murmured, taking our son in his arms as he sat down on the white marble floor. Gabriella sat on the left side and Lorenzo sat on the right side on his lap, while I sat beside Giovanni who wrapped his arms around my shoulder and pulled me close to him for a long, deep, and passionate kiss, like his life dependent on it. It has been six years. Six years of being together, living the best, loving, and happy life together. "She brought the Don on his knees," I murmured amused, after breaking the kiss and Giovanni laughed shaking his head. "When doesn't she?" he asked, looking into my eyes "God, you are beautiful, Mio Paradiso. I swear you get more and more beautiful every single day and I can't help but fall more in love with you." "Feeling is mutual, darling," I tell him when he pulls out something from his suit pocket and flashes it in front of me "Happy fifth Anniversary, wife." "But it hasn't started yet till midnight, husband," I tell him, taking the envelope from his hand. As I opened it, my eyes opened wide in shock when I realized what it was "We are going to Grand Cayman Island with Cedric and Flora today?!" "Yes, wife. We are and I won't take no for an answer. I want to celebrate my anniversary with my wife, at the place you wanted to go for so long with our friends. Flora and Cedric will meet us there." he tells me and I smile, leaning closer for a kiss when something occurs to me "What about the kids? We can't leave them behind." "We are going to look after them," came the voice of Matteo and Lucianna Venezia, parents of Giovanni. Gabriella stood up from Giovanni's arms in a heartbeat and ran towards her grandparents who threw their arms around her. "Grandpa....Grandma!" she squealed in delight while Giovanni picked me up and made me sit on his lap where Gabriella was sitting and kissed me. "Just relax, don't worry about the kids, they are going to be just fine. I need some alone time you with, Mio Paradiso. Just you and me, and our friends to chill and have fun with." he whispers in my ear, nibbling on my earlobe. I was about to open my mouth to speak when Rick approached with a worried expression on his face and passed Giovanni a manila envelope. "What is it?" Giovanni asked in a deep and dangerous tone, he uses as a Don. He took the envelope and opened it to go tense and pale after looking at it. "Who the hell sent this?!" he shouted "WHO?!"
