Chapter 3Simon groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. Initially, his eyesight was blurry, and it didn’t help that he had to adjust to the bright light somewhere above him. When he finally succeeded, he darted his eyes around him in confusion. He was certain he was inside a room somewhere, but he had no idea where. Then he heard noises from somewhere nearby, and he quickly turned his head. He was relieved when he saw that it was Chase on the bed to his left. Chase was attempting to get up into a sitting position, but he quickly tumbled back onto the bed.
“Chase!”
“Simon, where are we?”
Simon shrugged. “Beats me. I don’t know either.”
“And I guess you also have no idea how we got here.”
“No, I don’t have a clue. I—”
“Welcome back to the land of the living.”
