"I.. Won.. b***h!" I said, panting. My hands resting on my knees as I catch my breath. We were training, racing through the forest in the evening, near our pack border line. "You.. Cheated! " My best friend, Emily panted.  Laying on the ground with arms and legs spread widely. "Oh shut it! Just admit it that I am faster and better than you!" I said, kicking her lightly on the hip bone with my shoe. "Le! I am sore!" she moaned. "Why? What did you do? No wait. Don't answer that!" I said, making a disgust face and a gagging noise. Already knew the answer to that. She laughed. "You are saying like you are never gonna have s*x with your mate." "Of course. I will. But I won't complain!" I said. I could feel my cheeks getting hot. She just smirked. Suddenly her expression changed and her eyes got still. Mind link.. "It was Lucas. He is home. Waiting for me. So I am going!" she stood up and dusted her clothes. Lucas is the Beta of our pack and one year older than us and Emily's mate. "Hmm. Okay. Bye. Say hi from my side." I said, hugging her. I could see her figure walking through the thick bushes and trees. I sighed and leaned back against the tree and looking over other pack border trees. Looking up in the open sky. I thought about my life. Reading, talking, training, spending time with kith and kin and finding myself in my element with a lot of novels. Its been five years, I am still Mateless. Sometimes I get too much worried about my future. But I know Moon goddess have planed something good for me. With this thought I calmed my nerves. Suddenly i heard rustling of bushes and looked at source to find two yellow eyes staring back at me, across the other pack border line. The wolf was black in color and was large, like an Alpha. In the blink of an eye he was gone. I stood up and looked around the trees but found nothing. Weird. I told myself not to think about it. Just any boy sneaking here. He must have seen us training. I shrugged. Leah? Where are you dear? Lunch is ready. I heard my mom's voice in my head. I am on my way. I threw one more glance over trees where i saw those yellow eyes and started to make my way through the bushes, careful not to get into them. I started humming a song. I opened the door and made my way towards the kitchen. Where my mom was cooking. I walked towards her and hugged her from behind and kissed her cheek. "So much love for your mom? What do you need? " she said, turning "You wound me mom. Very deeply. You think that of me. Oh my. The world is ending. I-" i said while putting my hand on the head. "Okay okay stop! Drama queen." my mom said annoyingly. I laughed and walked towards my room, upstairs. My room was a bit chilly due to cold wind rushing inside, through the open windows. I took a deep breath. Cold air tingling in my nose. I took a shower and walked out of the washroom. I was brushing my hair, "Leeah!" I heard a excited shout of Johnny. I smiled at his cute little voice. I turned around and walked out of my room. I could hear my brother, his mate and their little baby running around. My brother Benjamin was the Alpha of our pack- Snow pack. "Hey" I greeted my brother, Benjamin and Ava. "Hey sister. How have you been?" he said, kissing my head. "I have been good. " I smiled. My brother had same hair as mine. Black. He had Steel-blue eyes. And I had brown eyes with black specks around the ring. I hugged Ava. And a small body got attached to my calf. "Leeah!" "Hello. Johnny!" I picked him up and kissed his chubby cheeks. He had same hair as his dad but got hazel eyes from Ava. He has that cute little dimpled cheeks that took my breath away. He tried to kiss me on my cheek but got me covered with his saliva. "Yuck. Johnny! " I complained. He laughed at me. Clever boy. "Benjamin where is your dad?" my mom asked Benji, taking Johnny from my hands. I sat beside Ava on the sofa. "He is just discussing some issues with Lucas dad, about Alpha Elijah, David, Mason and Alpha Caleb's visit. Will be here within a few minutes. " "But why? " mom took my words. We both curious. "To discuss about the fight against the rogues. " Benji said. We all got silent except johnny excited shouting at a stuff toy. It was a burning question of today. There had been uncountable killings in different packs by rouges. They were getting out of hand. "How was your training today?" Ava asked me. "It was good. Refreshing and tiring. Won again." I said, smirking. She knew me and Emily always race. " That's good. " "Leeah." Johnny said softly. "Yes. Baby." I said, smiling down at him. He always stretched the letter 'e'. "I want ice cream." he said, smiling widely, two front teeth broken. He couldn't speak R. "Sure!" I said, "Be careful. Okay. " Benji said. I dash to my room and grabbed my phone and coat. Johnny grabbed my finger and we made our way towards my car. "Ice cream. Yay. Ice cream. " he was jumping with excitement. I put a song to which johnny joined singing with his beautiful voice. Note my sarcasm. Suddenly my bum started to vibrate. What the hell? Then I remembered I had my phone in the back pocket of my pants. "Hello." I said, turning around the corner of the street. "Yo girl. How's everything? " Skylar voice boomed form the speakers. "Good. Going to ice cream shop, with johnny." I said, honking. "Oh. Awesome. I called you to tell you that me and Tyler are coming tomorrow. " "Oh really! That's great. " "Yup, we gonna have a lot of fun. Okay you drive. I gotta go. Bye " "Bye." Skylar, Emily and me are best friends. Skylar found her mate in another pack and got shifted there. Its like I am the only one in this whole world Mateless. I pulled the car into the parking lot. These shops were linked with other packs too. So wolves from other packs also came here. We both got inside the shop. The door jingled. People looked up to see who came. Eyes fell on us, but I ignored them and made my towards the counter. "Hello Miss. What do you like to have?" A boy around my aged smiled. "Tell him. Johnny. " "Vanilla with chocolate chips. " he said, already drooling. "Same." "Be right there." He nodded , writing down our order I grabbed his arm and dragged him to a booth. "I wanna go there." Johnny pouted and pointed at jumping castle, where kids around his age were jumping. "Okay. But don't go anywhere else." he ran, jumped at the jumping castle, he lifted up in the air for a second and came back down again. He was glowing with happiness. Cute little moments. I sighed and looked around the shop. A few people where there. And a large group of boys, consists of 5, sitting across from me, looking straight at me. I raised my eyebrow at them. One of them with blond hair smirked and made his way towards me. I leaned back against the chair and crossed my arms. From the look of his pretty face, he looked like a player. Hurry up asshole. "Hey beautiful." He said, sitting down on the chair in front of me. "What do you want? " I said, lazily, pretending to bored of him. "Why would I want anything from you?" he said, trying to look innocent. "If you don't want anything then you can take your ass away from here. I'll appreciate it. " I said, sweetly. His friends starting laughing loudly at this. He huffed and stood up and left with his friends. "Miss. Here's your ice cream." "Thank you."
