Without thinking, I ran out of my room instantly, unbothered that I was still dressed in my night pajamas. Camelia ran behind me, trying to catch up with me.
“Lexi, slow down! I can’t run as fast as you!” She huffed and puffed, desperate to gather air to fill her lungs.
“Camelia, Chris is my responsibility and he’s missing! Yet, you are asking me to slow down?” I yelled at her while still running.
