DALIA'S POV
I was really scared of everything that was going on. I couldn't comprehend most of the things they said, and they had me chained to the bed. I just wanted to wake up from this nightmare and be home. I wish they would just let me go home.
I wanted to stay awake and alert, but my body had other plans. I was tired and needed rest; soon I fell asleep.
I woke up to the voice of two people growling ‘Mate’.
What are two very handsome men doing in my room, growling mate? What does that even mean?
But they were really handsome and had similarities that made me believe that they were brothers.
They immediately rushed to my side and did the most unexpected thing; they breathed in my scent. Normally I should have felt disgusted, but weirdly, it felt right?
I know, I know I sound crazy, and that was why I reacted exactly the way I did. I scrunched my face in disgust when one of them said, “Hello, beautiful one," smiling happily at me, his brother's face mirroring his expression.
His voice was like a sweet melody to my ears, and his eyes were so captivating. I felt trapped, but in a good way. I felt like I could trust them.
But that was my ovaries talking. I shook my head to get the stupid thoughts out of my head and remind myself that I am being held here against my will.
“Can you both get off me? I screamed, “Why are you rubbing your sweaty body on mine?” I was pissed.
Why are all the people here weird? I mean, why are they up in my face breathing my scent and calling me their mate? Whatever that is.
They looked genuinely surprised that I acted the way I did.
“You are our mate,” the one with the Stoic look said.
“Mate? What is that? Is it like friends? Wait, did I lose my memory and forget you both?” I was getting genuinely worried. They looked hurt when they saw how I reacted to them coming close to me, and I also felt my heartache from their pain.
But now that I asked that question, they looked more confused than hurt.
The one with a more bobbly personality stretched his hand and touched me, and at that moment I felt electric shock when he touched me.
"Ahhhh!” I screamed and immediately moved my hand away. “You should call the doctor. I think something is wrong. I just got electric shocked!.
While I was still screaming, the other man moved his hand and kept it in mine, and I felt the shock again. He looked at his brother and nodded.
“Oh my god, something is wrong. Doctor!, doctor! Please help, I keep getting shocked.” I screamed, not understanding what was going on.
Maybe they didn't plug one of the machines correctly, but why did it start when these guys came here? I thought to myself.
“You both should get away from me; it was after you came here that I started getting shocked.” I screamed at them, terrified.
Finally, someone entered. I was about to ask for help when she said something that completely threw me off.
“She seems to be human,” the voice said, and the two men turned their heads so fast I thought they would snap.
But am I not supposed to be human? I mean, they are humans too, or at least they look like them now.
“What the f**k is going on?” I wanted to scream, but someone else growled.
“What do you mean human?” the stoic one growled.
“But she doesn't smell like a human,” the other one said.
“Smell like human? What does that even mean? Why do they keep talking like being human is taboo? Maybe I woke up in a movie?” Different thoughts ran through my mind.
Listening to the lady talk about how I don't heal fast made me start wondering if we were acting in a movie. I wanted to scream.
Finally, another older woman came in and told them to behave like they were scaring me.
She seemed to be the only normal one here.
She was also able to keep the two men under control.
She promised me I would be able to go home once I am fully healed, and she would call my parents for me. She said I shouldn't worry about anything. And thankfully, she told the two boys to leave me alone.
As they were leaving, the bubbly one ordered the doctor to unchain me immediately.
I was very glad about that. Now that I wasn't chained, I could finally escape once I feel better.
After a while, a girl came in carrying different varieties of food.
“Oh my, you are so pretty,” she smiled at me. Here, the Alpha, sorry I meant the two guys that came to see you earlier said to bring this to you. They choose different foods, seeing they don't know what you like and.”
She raised the adjustable table in the hospital bed and dropped the food.
“Do you need help getting up?” She asked.
“No, I can do that myself.” I tried to get up but couldn't.
She laughed a little. “Here, let me help you.” She came behind and helped me sit up and placed a pillow at my back to make it comfortable.”
She sat back down and smiled at me. “My name is Jules. What's your name?
I looked at her skeptically, trying to find out her plans.
“You can relax; you are safe, I promise. I think we are around the same age, so friends?” She smiled
“Were you kidnapped and forced to stay here against your will?”
She doubled over in laughter; she laughed so hard tears were falling from her eyes. “Oh my god, why would you think that?”
“Everyone here seems weird; they all talk in a weird way too, and when I woke up, I was chained to the bed. Isn't that enough reason to think like that?”
“Okay, okay, I understand. But trust me when I say this: when you get to know us better, you will realize that we are not weird. We are just a little different. And you were chained because they thought you were a threat to the people living here. It wasn't because we wanted to harm you. You know what? When you are feeling better and can walk, I will show you around the pack. Sorry, I meant community.”
I narrowed my eyes at her. "Okay,” I said reluctantly.
I looked at the food and couldn't help but salivate. I was starving, but I was too scared. What if they poisoned it?
“Why are you not eating? Are you scared we did something to the food?.” She chuckled. "Here, let me taste it first.” She said and took a spoon full of each food, one after the other. “There you go; you see nothing happened to me, right? You need to eat and get better fast so I can show you around.”
I reluctantly picked a spoon and took the first bite. The food was really delicious, and I was famished. I gulped it down.
“Slow down so you don't choke or get indigestion.” She said and offered me a cup of water.
I took it and drank it all immediately and continued with the food. By the time I was done, I was filled. “Thank you for the food.”
“You are welcome.” She chuckled.
“Who are those two men, and why are they being nice to me?” I asked.
“Which two men?” She looked confused.
“The ones that asked you to bring me food. They came here earlier, calling me their mate.”
“Ohh them!. Hmmmm, how do I explain it for you to understand?” She had a thoughtful look on her face. "Okay, let me put it this way. They are the two people who are most worried about you. You have a special place in their hearts, and they would do anything for you. You are like a soulmate to them. Does that make any sense?” She asked.
“Soul mate? Sounds too serious for people that I just met and even if it's true, we are presumed to have only one soulmate, not two.”
“I understand how you feel, but you will soon understand everything better,” she said.
“It's getting late, and I have some stuff I need to tend to. I will be back tomorrow to keep you company. Don't miss me too much,” she chuckled, and made her way to the door.
“Give us a chance; get to know us better before you decide to judge us and leave, and most importantly, when the two men come tomorrow or whenever they come, give them a chance. At least get to know them. I hope you don't write them and everyone else off before getting to know us better.” She turned around and gave me a small smile before leaving.
What she said stayed in my mind for a while before sleep took me.
