Chapter - 9

Author's pov

"are you serious?" Prince Agni asked Maithali in surprise.

"yes I'm sure. Maybe my feelings can change we will never know if we won't try it," Maithali said.

"I'm totally agreed with you it's the best decision you have taken," Princess Maya said.

"I agree it will be for some time. If you want it to continue then we will if not then I will break the marriage by myself no one will question you or your character," Prince Agni said.

"yes because we can't be in a love relationship without agreeing for the marriage. But I promise I will try my best to give this a chance. Your eyes are mirror to your emotions and in that I only can find love for me nothing else that's why I'm giving you a chance, "Maithali said with a shy smile.

Prince Agni felt that he couldn't be more lucky. The girl he loves finally agreed to be with him. Not permanently but still he has a chance to win her heart and he is sure that he will do it. But little did he know that her love who is her destiny is coming to take her away from everything and everyone. 

The trio went to the royal court and Maithali told her decision to the king. 

"your highness I'm ready to marry Prince," Maithali said with a shy face 

"why did you change your decision Maithali did Prince Agni pressurise you?" the king asked her .

"no your highness he didn't. He only confessed his feelings and I think that I should give him this. I can see the honesty in his eyes,"Maithali answered with confidence .

" then we will fix this marriage as soon as possible, "the king said .

" no father I want to take some time before marriage. Once we both are ready I will ask you for the marriage, "Prince Agni said and the king didn't object.

" as you wish son, "The king said with a smile .

After this Maithali and her family took their leave from the Royal Palace but Princess Maya asked Maithali to stay with her and she can't say no to her. So her parents left her with Princess Maya. 

" so my soon to be sister in law shall we go to meet your would be husband? He is dying to meet you," Princess Maya said and winked at her .

"don't reach conclusions so soon. I have not agreed till now," Maithali remind her friend .

"I know that but can't I hope for it?" Princess Maya asked. 

"yes you can but don't get upset if your hope didn't get fulfilled," Maithali warned her .

"I know," is the only thing she said and dragged her where they were supposed to meet. But what they see there when they reached the place make them shocked to the core. Prince Agni was kissing another girl. They both gasped in shock and Maithali ran out from the place before Prince Agni could even open his mouth. 

"what the hell is this bhai? Why are you kissing princess Chandni when you yourself said that you are in love with Maithali. Was it a drama to get her? Are you lusting over her. If you dare to hurt my friend I will not think twice to tell this to father and you know him better than anyone else, "Princess Maya said her eyes were blazing with anger and her face has a disappointed look .

" believe me I didn't do anything. It is her fault not mine, she is the one who kissed me and that too without my will or knowledge. "Prince Agni tried to make his sister understand his pov .

" how can you say that Prince Agni? You yourself said that you love me and want me as your queen and Maithali is just a timepass, "Princess Chandni said .

" shut up Chandni before I lose control and slap you hard. I don't raise my hand on women but don't make me do it. "Prince Agni said with anger .

" don't you dare to threaten her. Maybe she is saying the truth and you are lying. Why I'm even wasting my time on you I should go and check on the poor girl who is heart broken because of you, "Princess Maya said and left them .

" it's all because of you, just wait and watch I will not spare you for your deed, you should be ready to be punished, "Prince Agni said and leave to search for Maithali .

On the other side Maithali is running towards Woods. She doesn't know why she is so affected. Maybe she liked him or maybe because she agreed to give him a chance to prove his love or she could not see the fake love in his eyes. Her tears are not going to stop any time soon. 

Suddenly she halted on her steps and realised that she is not in her village or in the king's part she has came to some other part that too is a forest. She cursed herself for being stupid and not watching where she was going. 

Now she is scared because she doesn't know exactly where she is. Suddenly she heard some noises and it's a noise of tigers or lions . Now she started to cry again in fear. 

A lion came from the bushes and saw her. Maithali is sweating badly and was about to pass out because of fear. 

"oh god where I got myself?" Maithali asked herself .

The lion was stepping near her and Maithali closed her eyes and accepted it as her end. She remembered her ma and Papa's face for the last time she even remembered her friend Maya as well. 

Suddenly she heard a painful grown that came from the lion. She opened her eyes and saw that someone was trying to stop the lion and he successfully killed it with his dagger. Maithali sighed in relief as she is safe now but when the man turned towards her she felt like her heart will come out of her body any second.
