Daisy
Marcus finally woke up after drinking his coffee and someone knocked on the door. I rolled up my PJ sleeves and he looked at me confused.
- What are you preparing for Tiger? - he asked and as I looked at him sitting at my kitchen counter with a messy hair and sleepy face, suddenly, even for a moment I thought. I think I don't wanna f**k this up.
- Who knows what awaits on the other side! Better be prepared. - I said and quickly picked a frying pan up opening widely the door. Only to meet Max who got so startled that he jumped back like a scared cat.
- Put that down! - he said and I grinned playing with the pan in my hand.
- What is the magic word?
- Put it away or I'll kill you! - Max said and pulled his gun at me, I rolled my eyes and saw that his gun still had the safety on. I hit Max's wrist from under and took the gun away.
- Let's try this again. What is the magic word? - I took the safety off and Max swallowed.
- Please. - I put the safety back on and gave him his gun back. With a bright smile I stepped aside and said.
- Welcome! Honey we have a guest! - I couldn't hold myself back and I wanted to freak Max out as much as I could. Marcus walked to me and greeted Max handing me the bag he brought.
- Oh! How nice of you! Thanks for the breakfast, I'll out it on plates. Do you want a coffee? - I asked from Max whose eyes couldn't get any bigger anymore.
- What is going on? - he asked from Marcus with a little uncertainty in his voice.
- She is messing with you! - he answered and I could hear Max sigh loudly. I put the food on plates and gave a cup of coffee to Max as well. We were all sitting at tye counter eating in silence. Suddenly, Max cleared his throat and said.
- I want to apologize for how I acted yesterday.
- Apology accepted! - this wasn't a honest apology but I knew that it will take time for Max to fully trust me. Even I had to admit that my knowledge and abilities seemed shady.
- So, have you found out who they were? - Marcus asked and Max nodded.
- Do you remember the guy little miss troublemaker hit with her heels?
- Hey! That was an accident! - I said and Max waved.
- Yeah, like I believe it. Anyway, they got pissed because he was one of the sons of Donald's inner circle. According to the driver, they just wanted to scare Daisy and had nothing to do with you. From the empty guns, I assume he told the truth.
- And we killed two of them... We'll have to compensate Donald for this before leaving. - Marcus said. I walked to my bedroom and came out with my gun in my hand. Both men stared at me with confusion. Although I saw a hurtful glance in Marcus's eyes.
- I don't agree with you Marcus. Why would you have to compensate for a loss that they caused to themselves? Would you compensate my grandpa if Max would shoot me here and now?
- Of course not! You are holding a gun at us! - Max shouted but Marcus grinned. I opened the place of the bullets and put it on the table. Max stared at the empty gun and I asked.
- How would you know if I had bullets or not? What happened yesterday was self defense. Also, it's Donald's responsibility to keep an eye on his men, and they ended up causing you trouble even after we helped him. - Marcus leaned back on his chair and crossed his arms in front of his chest. His glance checked me from head to toe and I felt as if his ice-blue eyes were trying to learn everything I had in my mind and soul.
- Daisy is right, but let's leave it like this. Just inform Donald. - Max nodded and I sat back to finish my breakfast. After the food, I went to wash the plates and Marcus came to help me drying them. It felt surreal.
- You should pack your things up, we are leaving to Italy this afternoon. - he said out of the blue and my hands stopped.
- Excuse me? - he grinned and out the cloth down.
- Have you forget Babybee? We are going to announce our engagement to my family! -he sounded enthusiastic and I heard a soft groaning from the counter.
- I need another cup of coffee for this. - Max said and I poured him more although my thought was a bit different. I opened a cupboard and grabbed a bottle of sake. I poured some in a shot glass and sent it down before leaving the totally confused dudes in my kitchen.
- I'm going to pack my things up. - I threw my phone to Max.
- Call Sonia and ask her to pick the girls up please. - Max smiled a little but he shook his head looking at Marcus.
- Girls? - Marcus pointed behind him and Max squeaked.
- f**k! I FORGOT ABOUT THOSE! - I heard Marcus laugh, Max probably pulled his legs up on the chair again. I packed a few clothes that I thought would be fine for the trip and soon Sonia arrived. I opened the door and she hugged me flying through the door.
- Hola chica! What's up!? What is this all trio thing now? And why did that handsome cake called me from your phone? - she asked and her eyes met with the blushing Max's. Sonia blushed a little too, but she didn't come from a family of weaklings.
- Hey sexy! It makes me sad that you are leaving me behind! Did you get over me already and trying to warm up to my friend? - she asked and I swear I saw an annoyed glance in Marcus's eyes.
- Oh hey! We haven't met yet! My name is Sonia! Sorry for the police incident! - Marcus shook Sonia's hand and she turned to me.
- For how long do you need me to co-parent the girls? - I glanced at Marcus since I had no f*****g clue.
- For about two weeks. - Sonia gasped when she heard Marcus's voice and giggled.
-Consider it done! I have my car down. Say goodbye to the babies. - Sonia said and I went to snuggle a bit with the rats. Then Sonia turned to Max.
- Handsome, come and help me with their cage. It's heavy as f**k! - I saw Max getting goosebumps from the thought of having to touch the rat cage but he conquered his disgust and helped Sonia, leaving us in the apartment alone with Marcus.
- So, this afternoon.
- Yes.
- I might seem calm but just you to know, I'm freaking out!
- Do you need another shot? - he asked and I sighed.
- Probably, the whole bottle wouldn't be enough now. - Marcus walked in front of me and approached me until my back hit the wall.
- Just carefully with your booze Babybee... I still remember the mark you left on my neck that day. - I covered my face with my hands but peaked at this handsome man between my fingers.
- What is this? Am I winning our bet? - he asked in a cocky tone and I smiled wickedly. I grabbed his collar and pulled him down, so the tip of our noses touched.
- I'm not coming from a family of weaklings either. Game on, Honey!
