Marcus
I've opened my eyes and saw Daisy curled up on the side of the sofa. She had her blanket wrapped around her and Daisy looked like an adorable burrito. I smiled and watched her sleep for a while. I still don't know what kind of force brought me gere last night, but after she stormed away, clearly hurt, I just found myself in front of her door. I watched her as she slept peacefully like a baby deer and still couldn't fully comprehend what I've learned about her last night. How could you dedicate your whole life to become my aid?
I watched Daisy leaning on top of and laughing to her hearts content as we reminded her of some kind of cheesy drama. Her eyes sparkled and despite seeing her today in that killer dress and perfect makeup, somehow she still looked even more remarkable in her Pj's with her hair all over the place. I was really close to cross the line when a pillow landed on my face breaking the magic. After that we kept talking for long hours before we fall asleep on her couch. My phone buzzed on the table and I saw at least ten messages and three missed calls all from Max. I grabbed the phone up and walked to Daisy's bedroom closing the door behind me carefully, not to wake her up. Before I called Max back a smile spread on my face. This is the room where all this craziness began. I called Max and he immediately picked up the phone.
- MARCUS! Where the hell have you been?! Why did you disappear? - I rolled my eyes and had to rub my temper. I would've needed a coffee before this phone call.
- I came to apologize to Daisy and to thank her that she helped me.
- You went to that crazy girl's house willingly?! - I could imagine Max's angry face right now. There were only a few, including myself, who were pair of Max in fighting styles. But thanks to Daisy, Max fall on his butt as if he was a newborn baby giraffe taking its first steps.
- Yeah, and I expect you to apologize as soon as your pride stops hurting.
- MY PRIDE IS ALRIGHT!
- Glad to hear, in this case, bring your ass here and apologize. Also, be a peach and bring some breakfast on your way here.
- Marc... - I hang up and chuckled. He meeds to be put at his place from time to time or he will grown onto my head. The scent of coffee lingered into the room and I followed it obediently. Daisy was standing in the kitchen, still in her PJ's and rubbing her eyes while she poured steaming coffee into two mugs. When she noticed me with her eyes half closed and with a silly smile on her face she waved to me.
- Coffee. - she said instead of greeting and I accepted it happily. After a few sips she looked her usual self.
- So, now that you saw my glory and downfall as well, what should we do now? - she asked and I felt a bit confused.
- I'm sorry, my coffee seems to take longer to take effect. What are you talking about?- she sighed and said.
- After yesterday it's clear that someone was after our head. I'll try to swallow my pride that you saw me hangry and like a total gremlin, since it already happened. The question is, what's our next step? The journey to your parents where you are supposed to introduce me is next week, but I don't know if now is the adequate time to travel abroad. I know I have no word in this but I've been thinking... - Aaaand I've lost track. I looked at my coffee than at Daisy, and back at my coffee. She noticed my lost glance probably and rolled her beautiful eyes. I already noticed that despite of her always smiling face, her eyes were really expressing.
- Jeez! How did you manage to stay alive with everything going on and being so slow in the morning? - she asked and immediately covered her mouth. I really can't deschiper this woman.
- I have a body guard and I'm dangerous enough, so people don't tend to mess with me, even less before I had my coffee.
- But yesterday...- I lifted my hand before she started rambling again.
- Yesterday was something pretty common. Max called me probably because he found out who sent those idiots. Although whoever did, he or she wasn't the sharpest of in the drawer. So stop worrying about that part. My family, well, you can worry about that part. - her eyes widened and she jumped up. I saw how she ran to a drawer in the living room and brought a notebook and a pen back. She opened the notebook and looked at me woth determination.
- I need information. Now. - she said and I was taken aback for the dozens of time in the past twenty four hours. I finally understood the headache I've caused to Daisy and somehow I felt this as a payback even if it was unintentional. Although, at this point, I couldn't tell anymore, if anything this little bee did was an accident to begin with.
- My grandmother died due to a clan fight, a rival family betrayed my grandfather and while he was discussing the truce between the two families, they murdered her. - Daisy gasped and held my hand, probably out of custom because she quickly pulled her hand back. Where she touched mine a little of her warmth lingered for a few seconds.
- I'm really sorry. - I smiled.
- Thanks, it was long time ago. Since than, my grandfather turned into a cold old man who was waiting for his time to go after grandma. But faith gave him a long life so he has to live without his Spring.
- His Spring? - she asked curiously and I've explained my grandfather's philosophy to her.
- This is to beautiful and touching. He must've loved her dearly.
- Indeed.
- So, if I understand you well, I can win over your grandpa just by being myself.
- Exactly. You are naturally kind and caring, also always smiling, I've no doubt that he will be eating from the palm of your hand. - Daisy blushed and cleared her throat.
- I'll do my best. What about your mother?
- She is a tough cookie. She worked as my father's secretary and advisor. The is a really unpredictable and crafty woman, but if you manage her to like you, she is softer than cotton candy. The real issue is my father. He really wants me to marry Francesca. He is the one who sent his men after us to gather information. - Daisy started to laugh.
- What is so funny?
- I hope they had their cameras with them yesterday! - when I caught on her thought I laughed with Daisy. Yes, last night was indeed a rare sight to see.
- So what's the cheat code to win Daddy Kane over? - she asked and I felt uncomfortable. I had to bury my face into my hands so she won't notice my red face.
- Please... Never in this life call my father that again. - Daisy gasped and laughed so hard that she almost fall off of her chair.
- Sorry! I swear I won't! Now spill the tea! - I looked at her eagerly waiting for my response but I had to disappoint her.
- If you find out what the cheat code is, please let me know as well.
