Marcus
After taking Daisy to the hospital, I went back to Donald's bar and we watched the security footage together. At first it seemed just like Sloan said, although, both Donald and I have noticed the same thing.
- Can you replay that last twenty seconds? - I've asked and he nodded. We watched it again and Donald paused the recording. He looked at me and said.
- Should I consider thia a threat my friend?
- What are you talking about?! - Donald scoffed and pointed at Daisy on the video.
- You said she was a simple secretary. Care to explain, how did she do that? - he asked and I knew what he meant. The high heel seemed like an incident, but it hit that guy in the right place, so with little effort, it could cause serious damage, same goes for the punch. If Daisy was stronger, or if she hit the guy just with a little more force, he wouldn't be at surgery now...
- I swear, I had no idea about this. She is always goofy, cute, silly and clumsy! I'll ask her personally. - Donald scoffed again.
- Is she truly your girlfriend? How could you not know about her hidden talents if you truly care about her? - Daisy wasn't my girlfriend, but I wouldn't let Donald know about this, he is still a friend of my father as well so maybe his questions are not due to his own interest.
- What can I say? It hasn't been long that one day I walked into my office, and saw her in a different way. I can't say I've fallen in love at first sight obviously, but I just couldn't get her out of my mind after that day. - Donald chuckled and pat my back.
- I'm happy for you my friend! Since your little lady saved my precious daughter, fear not, me and my boys will keep an eye on her to help her if she needs it. - I've thanked Donald for everything and headed back to the hospital. Max was still sitting next to Daisy's bed and she seemed to be sleeping. I've nodded to Max to come out to the corridors through the tiny window. Once he was outside I've asked.
- Did she wake up? - Max nodded.
- She was awake for a few minutes a while ago and fall back sleeping. I guess she lost lots of blood. I hate to admit but I have no idea how she kept awake for so long after that injury. The doctors had to stitch her head up and told me that she might have a concussion, so she need to rest and if she vomits, gets dizzy or there is a problem with her eye sight she mist be brought back.
- Thanks for the update Max. You may go home now.
-What will you do?- I took my suit jacket off and grinned at my friend.
- Staying with my injured girlfriend obviously! - he looked around and noticed a weird looking nurse.
- I'll cancel everything in your calendar for tomorrow that cannot be arranged by phone. - I pat Max's shoulder and he went home while I took the seat next to Daisy where Max was previously. A smile spread on her face and she opened her eyes quickly.
- Hey! - her voice was vivid as ever and I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.
- Hi, you've got hurt pretty badly. How are you feeling? - she pouted and grimaced by the pain.
- Honestly, Max's rudeness hurt more than this little scratch. It's not the first time anyway. - I felt my eyes widen.
- What do you mean by that? - Daisy blushed and twirled a piece of her hair around her fingers nervously.
- I wasn't exactly a good girl back in high school. Specially because of constantly changing the countries I've studied in. I was too smart for the American high school and too dumb for the Japanese. So I've ended up in trouble quiet several times. - I had no idea about this. She seemed to be the sheltered and loved granddaughter of Frank.
- I saw the security footage.
Daisy
Marcus stared into my eyes after saying those words and I felt a little dizzy. Bye bye soft and cute image... I tried to hide my worry behind a giggle.
- Good! At least we know who tried to hurt Sloan! I'm sure your friend is grateful for this! - Marcus chuckled and for some reason the more relaxed he looked I became more anxious.
- Where did you learn those movements? - he asked suddenly and I started to crunch the blanket corner.
- What movements? It was merely an accident that I've hurt that guy. When he screamed at me I've hit him instinctively and the high heel was a total accident! I've loved that pair of shoes! I'd never waste them on something so insignificant as that douchebag! - Marcus seemed to doubt my story and he kept his searching gaze on me. I couldn't handle anymore he looked way too sexy for me to keep hiding things from him. So if you ask, I'll answer, just please look away before I get turned on!!! I thought and he smiled.
- Aikido and Kenpo! - I've shouted it out loud and pulled the blanket over my head hiding from his blue eyes.
- Those are fighting styles in Japan, how did you learn them? - from under the blanket I've answered.
- When I lived with my mother's parents for a half year, my grandma and grandpa insisted that I must learn some self defense techniques. I swear they came instinctively!
- If what happened was indeed your instincts than, it is impressive. - I've gathered my courage and peaked at Marcus still pulling the blanket up until my nose.
- Impressive? - I asked and he nodded getting up from the chair and leaning above me. He smelled so good and looked so hot! Oh my dear God please don't let me embarrass myself now!!!
- Yes, you know with just a little more force into your punch or just a few inches to the right with the heels and thay guy wouldn't be alive anymore. - he leaned even closer and caressed my hair away.
- Mr... Mr... Mr.. K-k-kane?! What are you doing? - I've asked but didn't dare to move. He leaned to my ear and I felt it getting red as a tomato.
- There is someone hired by my family lurking around. - he said and placed a kiss on my cheek. I felt it heat up and stared at Marcus with my jaw dropped.
- Daisy, close your mouth first than your eyes and go back to sleep.
- Where will you sleep? - I've asked and Marcus untied his tie. Is he aware of the fact how seductive he looks now?! Stop HINA! You've read waaay too much smut and dark romance books. This is the reality! - and in reality the guy you are head over heels with, just pat the tiny sofa you had in your hospital room.
- I'll sleep here.
- No! I can't let you sleep there! - Marcus smirked mischievously and asked.
- Should I sleep in the bed with you then? - I hid under the blanket again and said.
- Good night! - I've heard him softly chuckle and murmur.
- Bona Notte, Daisy.
