“Magnus,” Solomon called out to the man standing in the room, “grab the lady and keep her away from us.” Magnus did as he was told. In a few swift strides Magnus had crossed the distance between himself and Ally, and Elijah had no choice but to let go of Ally. Magnus clutched Ally’s body in his arms and captured her flying hands that were trying to push him away effortlessly. He dragged Ally’s struggling body aside. Solomon watched all of that with an bored expression on his face. When he was sure that Ally was enough far away, he lifted the whip and cracked it down hard on Elijah’s back.
