It has gotten dark and I know I should go home to face Aaron but I don’t want to. I can’t go home right now because if I do, I will probably blow up on him and me doing that will get Caeleb fired. I reached into my pocket to check the time and realized I left it on the cart. I need to go back to get it. I sighed as I got up to climb down. I slowly walked through the woods back to the stream. I crossed back over it and went through the field. I could see the house in the distance and there weren’t any lights on. “Good. He is either not home or asleep.” I thought to myself. I passed by the driveway and the cart wasn’t there. It must still be at the field. I walked down the road and saw the cart still sitting there. I looked all around the cart but it wasn’t there. Did I leave it out by the tree? I headed down the path and when I got to the tree there was a piece of paper stuck to one of the branches. {Skyla, Meet me on the corner by the first red light we drove by. Your phone is in your throne. Mine is in it. Text me when you get there. -Cae} What the hell is he talking about at the first red ligh.. Oh, the first red light we passed on the way to his motel. I reached down and grabbed my phone. How the hell did he get around my password? I walked back down the path and looked around. Aaron wasn’t home and neither was Jenna. I walked past the house and headed down the road to the first intersection. I texted Caeleb and all I said was here. A few minutes later I see his pickup pulling up and he rolled the window down and said to get in. I climbed up into his truck and closed the door. Before I could even buckle up Caeleb pulled off. "Where are we going, Caeleb?" "Back to my motel. We need to talk." "About?" "We will talk when we get there." I sat back and stared out the window. I think I already know what he wants to talk to me about. I don't know if I am ready to talk about me kissing him but I guess I have no choice now. When we got to his motel and inside his room, I decided to speak first. "Caeleb, I'm sorry for kissing y...." I couldn't finish what I was saying because I was pushed against the door and he crashed his lips into mine. His kiss was like a hungry animal eating for the first time in days. I didn't fight him on it and I matched his hungry kisses. When he pulled back he placed his forehead against mine. "Skyla." He was out of breath and his eyes were closed when I was able to look up at him. "Caeleb." "Why did you run off like that after kissing me, Skyla?" "I was shocked by what I did and I thought you would be upset or mad at me for doing it. I freaked out because I kissed you right after you told me Aaron told you to stay away from me. Running away felt like something I should do at the moment." "It wasn't. I wanted you to stay so we could talk. I wasn't mad at you or upset with you for kissing me." "You weren't?" "Skyla, You have no idea how hard it has been for me to hide the fact I find you attractive. When you kissed me, I had to hold back from kissing you only because we were out in the field. If I had kissed you back it wouldn't have been just a quick kiss and I'm sure someone would have seen us in a hot makeout session and would run back and tell your brother." "So, you like me and wanted to kiss me?" "Yes, Skyla. I have been attracted to you since the morning I met you. You have no idea what I've been going through. Skyla, I haven't stopped thinking about you. You are always on my mind and even when close my eyes at night, you are there in my dreams." "I do know what you've been going through. I can't stop thinking about you either. You've literally been the only thing I've been dreaming about." "Skyla, the dreams I have been having are one's I shouldn't be." "I know what you mean, Caeleb. Mine have been rated R." Skyla, you are 17 and I don't want to do anything that may hurt you." "I will be 18 soon." "I know but until you turn 18, I don't want either of us on your brother sh*t list. I didn't plan on staying away from you but while we are at work, I was going to keep my distance just to keep him off my back and yours." "We haven't done anything at work for him or anyone else to say anything though, Caeleb." "I know but us always going off together alone during breaks, probably has the guys thinking things." "I swear, those guys are so f*cked up in the head and only think dirty. This is why I don't usually work out there. I tried to tell my brother that they were all pervs, but he didn't want to listen to anything I had to say." "Most guy only think dirty things but I am not like them. I have more respect for you. I want to keep being friends with you but we have to be sneaky about hanging out. I will still talk to you at work but we can't go off to the tree during break anymore." "Ok. I don't want to get you fired so I will try to dial my excitement down while around you." "What kind of excitement are we talking about?" I looked at him and my cheeks turned red. "Sh*t sorry. I shouldn't have said that." "It's ok. I'm just not used to this." "I will try to watch what I say." "You don't have to do that, Caeleb. I just need to get used to it." "I'll try not to overwhelm you with my little comments." We talked for a few more minutes and then Caeleb took me back to the red light and dropped me off. He did follow me down the road to make sure I got back to the house ok and turned around once I got to the driveway. I walked up to the door and wasn't sure what to expect when I opened it but I was met with a very upset brother and a very upset Jenna. "Skyla! Oh my god. Where have you been?" "I-I- I was.." "F*ck. It doesn't matter where. I'm just glad you are home." "I wasn't gone long, Aaron. I just needed to clear my head." "Why? What was bothering you so bad that you took off from work and ran off?" "Life. I have no friends and the one friend I have made since I left school, isn't wanting to talk to me now. I looked forward to going to work because I had someone close to my own age I could relate to music and books and stuff like that with but I guess I wasn't meant to have friends. I'll keep working out in the field but only because I enjoy getting out of the house and being in the sun." "I'm sorry your friend isn't talking to you, Skyla. Please don't run off like that again." "I'll try not to." I walked off and went to my room. I wanted to scream at him for threatening Caeleb with his job but I knew if I did that Aaron would fire him. I jumped in the shower and then got ready for bed.
