As I made it to the blueish green lake, I felt both fear and relief as I seen Kio and Cole fighting on a hill near the lake, both b****y and bruised, throwing punch after punch.
I quickly ran over. "stop!! Both of you stop!" They turned to face me, Kio had a glare on his face, and Cole looked at me with a look I couldn't make out. "Faya get out of here!" I shook my head. "No! This is my fight! Not yours or anyone else's!" Kio was about to speak, but Cole beat him to it.
Cole ran up to me and grabbed my arms, he glared at me and yelled on the top of his lungs. "Stop being so stupid Faya! You are a child!!! A teenager! It's not your job to kill! ITS NOT YOUR JOB TO SAVE ANYONE! You shouldn't have to save yourself, much less all of humanity!" Coles eyes watered as he shook me.
My eyes were wide in shock, unsure what to say, my voice cracked as I spoke. "if I don't... Who will?" Cole sighed, glancing back at kio, who looked annoyed to have his fight inturupted. "Maybe no one, but you shouldn't have to save the world, especially not alone. If the world was meant to be saved more people would be helping you, not expecting you to do it all alone!"
I could hear the raw emotion in his voice, but before I could reply, Kio charged, and went to throw a punch, my eyes widened, he was headed right for me, but in a snap, Cole jumped in front of me, and that hit, with all the possible strength Kio, the strongest being on the planet had, landed dead in his face.
"COLE!" my eyes watered, and I felt my blood boil, with a single movement, I pushed Kio, hard, he stumbled backwards falling straight into the lake, but grabbed my sleeve, pulling me with him, I fought with him as we fell. Trying desperately to push him off, and in the last second, maneged to push him off just in time to telaport to safety. I immediately dropped beside Cole. My breathing shallow, shaking, b****y and bruised.
My entire body ached, as I stared down at coles lifeless body. I held him close and sobbed. "You idiot..." I whispered. "YOU i***t!" I yelled as loudly as I could, so loud, the mountains Shaked, my eyes widened, as I watched the mountains above crumble, an avalanche flooding the lake, covering all the strange liquid within.
When I returned, I'd collapsed from exhaustion, and when I woke up, I was in a hospital. When I looked beside me, I seen my parents, worried looks in their eyes. "Faya!" My mother shouted the moment she seen me, and hugged me tight. "M-mom?"
I felt tears swell... When? How long had it been? Since I'd been embraced by my mother? How long since I'd seen the worried protective look in my father's eyes. Glancing at my baby brother, who was no longer a little baby, he sat on the floor coloring in a coloring book, he looked up and seen me, and grinned.
"Sissy is up!" He hugged me, and I hugged him back. "wha- what happened to the invaders?" I asked my parents, shaking, then remembered Cole. "Wait! Cole! Is he alive?? Did they revive him?!" My parents looked at me worried. "honey..." My mom said in a soft voice. "What are you talking about? You got hit by a car when you ran away from us at breakfast... You'd been a coma since you were eight years old. Your sixteen now."
My eyes widened. "N-no... No! T-there were invaders, and Kio, and Cole, and Jade and-" my father sighed. "you need to rest." He stood. "She's probably confused, it's not uncommon from a situation like this." I heard a Doctor say. My heart pounded. It couldn't have been fake... It couldn't have been... Was it really all a dream?
Four months had passed and I'd started getting back to a normal routine, any sign of invaders was non existent. It really did seem like it had never happened, yet, it still felt so real. One night ad I sat in my room reading I heard a sound.
Glancing at my window, which was now open, I walked over and seen something on the window sill, as I picked up the item, I froze, to see a pair of glasses. My hands trembled as I stared at the glasses. Glancing out the window, there was no one there, just the city lights, and the cool winter air.
