When I'd finally calmed down, I heard a voice whisper in my ear. "This isn't healthy Faya. You need rest." The voice sounded... Gentle, I looked up, and seen Cole.
I sighed. Him? Of all people? "Why are you everywhere??" I whisper weakly, to which he chuckled. I could feel the vibrations from his chest as he chuckled, keeping my head rested there.
"Tell me, what has you all riled up?" He asked, staring down at me, his eyes strangely gentle. I looked away from him. "It's not like you care. No one here cares." Cole sighed, and ran a hand through my hair.
"I know we can seem... Cold, but it's not as simple as it seems." I glared up at him. "I already know why your here, Kio told me about you all trying to stop wars, but at the cost of so many?? It's not worth it! It's not right!" Cole sighed. "there... Is something Kio hasn't told you, he'd kill me if he knows I showed you this but... I think you should see"
I pulled back. "What? Another battlefield?" Cole shook his head and extended a hand. "I'll show you." I sighed, and took his hand, and in a flash, We were somewhere else.
As I looked around, I felt a strange type of air hit my skin, it burnt and I winced from the Burn, and in front of me, was a massive blueish green lake, the lake looked gorgeous, surrounded by mountains.
"What... Is this place?" I asked, taking a deep breath, I coughed. "Shallow breathes." Cole said, not looking at me. I shallowed my breathing, each breath felt horrible, as if I was breath poison and fire.
My lungs felt like they'd collapse, and I heard cole sigh, the only sound in the seemingly silent scene. "This lake holds something that's both toxic, yet desperately needed for survival.
My kind need a certain thing to survive, a liquid that's toxic to anyone without our abilities. Our planet ran out, since we have such a huge population, so Kio used the excuse of planets in wars or with flaws to go there and use the supply they had, since humans have little use for it to begin with."
I looked at the lake, so it wasn't for humans that they were here? I hadn't thought so. I sigh. "that still doesn't explain why he gave me these abilities. If he cares so little for humans, why not kill all of us?" Cole chuckled. "Smart girl. He doesn't want to be responsible for a species going extinct, because people might go after him for it, and while he's strong, there's still beings stronger.
He fears what he can't control, he seems cool headed, but trust me, it's all an act, you know nothing of him. As for him giving you abilities. Its nothing more then a game to him.
He knows you'll never succeed in killing him, but takes joy in toying with the hope you might succeed in saving your kind." I felt my blood boil at Coles words, my hands fists at my side.
"What if... I did have a solid plan to kill him? One that would work?" Cole chuckled. "If that was the case, I'd probably help." He pushed his glasses up as they threatened to slide down his nose. My eyes widened in shock and I turned to face him.
"Really? Why would you-" he held up a hand to stop me. "I personally couldn't care either way, I go for power. If you prove more intelligent and stronger then him, I'll follow you. Otherwise, him. I'm on the winning side, nothing more."
I looked at the ground, my eyes shimmered with hope. "If you were truly cruel though, selfish. Then you wouldn't have shown my this." Cole chuckled. "How do you know I don't have a plan of my own?" With that, he vanished, leaving me with that thought.
I sighed, a small smile on my lips. At least, now I knew I had a possible alley. I couldn't wait any longer though. I looked down at my fists, still b****y and blistered. Telaporting to my room, I quickly wrapped my hands, put my hair up, put on a white tank top and some shorts, and prepared to find Kio.
I had to challenge Marcus today, unfortunately, I didn't know where he was. With nothing but my determination and the possibility of Cole as an ally on my side. I'd fight Marcus that day, and I'd win, and Kio WOULD die.
