Victoria couldn't believe her ears, she had a little bit of hope rising in her as she followed liam downstairs to the kitchen. "Stop staring, i haven't remembered anything yet. Though memories are blurry, i still can't identify anything and i'm scared of trying." liam said. "I guess xander told you then?" "Yes, he said 'tori' was what i usually called you while growing up." liam sat on the kitchen stool and flexed his injured leg. "How is it now?" victoria asked, she took some veggies to the sink and washed them. "Much better. Hopefully, i'll be able to walk with the clutch in two days." "Thank goodness." The kitchen was silent for a long while, victoria focused on making lunch, while liam just sat there and watched her. He wanted to ask questions about the two of them, he wanted to know what they were like before the accident but he didn't know where to begin. "Tori." "Yea?" "The inscription on the tree, the one by the swing, did you write that?" "No, you did." "Really? What was our relationship like?" Victoria looked at liam and sighed, "We were very fond of each other, not until i left town to go work in Netherlands." "As a nurse, right?" "Yeah, as a nurse." "So when and why did you return?" liam asked, he stood up and walked around towards her. Victoria was startled when she raised her head and saw him by her side, she unintentionally dropped the cabbage. She stooped down to pick it and while she was standing back up, she bumped her head on the table. "Ouch." "Are you okay?" liam asked. "I'm fine." "Let me see for myself." he said and further approached her, he slightly held her shoulder, while the other massaged the inflicted area. Victoria closed her eyes as liam's finger got into her hair and massaged her scalp, "Feeling better?" "So much better." she said. When she opened her eyes, liam's face was so close to hers, their eyes locked and different emotions passed through her. Liam had the urge to kiss her, it was the same for victoria, but none of them made the move, they just stood rooted to the ground, drawing an inch closer second after second. Victoria swallowed an invisible lumb before she called, "Liam...." "Yes." he responded in a slightly whisper. "Your leg.... You need to sit." Liam smiled, "Fine, i'll let you make lunch." He said and finally stepped back, he looked at her for a few seconds before heading to the sitting room, so victoria took a deep breath, then she continued cooking. After lunch, they went to the garden and sat on the swing, victoria held a glass of wine. She was talking about their high school days when a black car parked in front of the wooden fence. Vctoria gasped when the occupant stepped out, the glass fell and shattered as she stood up abruptly, leaving liam wondering why she was reacting this way.
