Chapter 3 hawk and faith

1206 Words
Cheyenne’s P.O.V   Mercury and I were cuddled up on the couch when my dad and Faith walked into the living room, well in Faith’s case she cutely waddled in like a penguin. I quickly got up and went straight over to them, hugging my dad tightly and hugging Faith not so tightly.   “Hi dad, hi Faith. How are you feeling?” I asked and Faith sighed. She looked so tired and so ready to have this baby.   “I’m good, but I’ve been having pains in my back for a few minutes, so my guess is that he or she is going to be coming soon.” Faith replied and I nodded, as my dad gently rubbed circles on her back trying to ease her pain. Mercury grabbed their bags and took them straight to their room, knowing that Faith needed to rest straight away. It made me think back to when I was pregnant and how Mercury wouldn't let me do anything, he even insisted on carrying me to wherever I wanted to go for a whole week, it was really annoying, but also kinda cute.   “Come on, I already have your room ready. Dad, can you help her? I have put you in a room on the ground floor, so that you wouldn't have to keep walking up and down the stairs in your condition.” I said and they both nodded.   “Thank you, I don't think I could have made it upstairs even if I tried.” Faith said, slightly laughing.   “I wouldn't have minded carrying you up. I did offer but you flat out refused.” My dad said, frowning.   “I know you did, Hawk and I thank you for the offer, but I am not a child and I will not be treated like one. I don't need to be carried when I am perfectly capable of walking.” Faith replied, smiling sweetly at him and I rolled my eyes.   “You're just like Mercury, he was the same with me except I didn't have the choice to refuse him carrying me around, not that he would have listened even if I had refused.” I said laughing.   “I heard that and there was no way I was going to let you walk anywhere.” Mercury said, coming back into the room and quickly pecking me on the cheek.   “How did you manage that? Faith won’t even listen to me, let alone willingly accept what I have said.” My dad asked, looking dumbfounded. Mercury smiled and I playfully elbowed him before crossing my arms over my chest.   “Yes Mercury, tell him how you did that.” I said, glaring at him.   “I constantly had her with me and even moved the stuff I needed from my office into the bedroom where I could keep an eye on her. She didn't talk to me for the first few days and then after that she would throw something at me everytime I looked at her or asked where she was going, but in the end she saw things my way.” Mercury replied and I scoffed.   “Only because you took away everything I could throw at you, brought me boxes and boxes full of chocolate and rubbed my feet.” I said, finishing the story and making Faith laugh.   “I should have thought of that.” Faith said, laughing as she slowly waddled out of the living room with my dad holding her hand and wrapping his other round her waist.   “Well, it worked didn't it?” Mercury said, rubbing the back of his neck as I rolled my eyes at him and pecked him on the lips.   “Yes it did.” I replied and he smiled again. I went ahead and opened the bedroom door for them and stood back to let them in.    “Go and relax, I’ll check up on you tomorrow.” I said and they both nodded, as I shut the door behind me. I looked upstairs towards Anna’s room and there was still so much that I wanted to talk to her about, so I went upstairs and knocked on her door.   “Anna, can I come in. we need to talk.” I said and heard as she got off her bed and came over to the door, unlocking it and opening it.   Anna’s P.O.V   I opened the door to see my mom standing there with a weird look on her face, so I moved out of the way and let her in, then closed the door behind her as I joined her and sat down on my bed.   “What is it, mom?” I asked and she sighed, making me worry.   Listen sweetheart, I know that you are worried about your first shift and I want you to know that your dad and I will be there with you, but I also know that you're worried in case you smell your mates scent. You do know you don't have to have a mate if you don't want to, hell when I first found out about this I went mad and threw a lot of things at your dad, blaming him for everything, but once the air had cleared, well, you can see how we are now. I know that you want to travel, to go to college, train with your powers and I want you to know that you can do all of that, you can decide to do whatever you want, baby girl. You're dad and I won't force you into anything you don't want to do, but you need to remember that the mate bond is strong and you will be drawn to him. You will feel the pull of the mate bond and if you truly decide that you don't want him, then you must reject him before the bond grows stronger. I trust that you will make the right decision, you're a smart girl, Anna. now, get some sleep and I will see you in the morning.” My mom replied and I listened to her carefully.   “I know mom, thank you. Oh I almost forgot, I’m going to the lake tomorrow so I won't be home until late, okay.” I said and she nodded.   “Alright, but you need to be careful. You know about rogues, so be careful.” My mom said and I nodded, kissing my mom goodnight before she left and shut the door behind her. I pulled out my phone and began to text Toby. Me - Hey, are we still on for tomorrow? Typing…..typing….typing…. Toby - yeah girl, I’m bringing food since we will be there all day. Typing….typing….typing…. Me - Nice, bring some water too. See you tomorrow. Night. Typing….typing….typing…. Toby - Night.   I put my phone back on the nightstand and climbed under the covers of my bed, finding my comfy spot and settling in for the night.
