Cheyenne’s P.O.V   “We have nothing, honey.” Mercury said and then looked at Doctor Cloud once we had finally gotten to the couch.   “Can she sit down without it hurting?” Mercury asked and Doctor Cloud slowly nodded.   “She can, but it won't be completely pain free. Her wounds are still healing and they are doing it very slowly due to the extent of her injuries.” Doctor Cloud replied and they were talking as if I wasn't even here, which was pissing me off. I coughed getting their attention and they both looked at me sheepishly, realising their mistake. They each took my hand and helped me to lower myself down onto the couch, but I gritted my teeth as the material of the couch rubbed against the wounds on my back and legs.   “Now as you were saying, what do we have?” I asked again, wanting to know everything.   “We have nothing, we only have a few links here and there. This is the first time in two days that we have heard from Anna.” Mercury said and then he turned to face Toby, nodding for him to talk. Toby looked right at me and began to tell me everything that Anna had said when she mind-linked him. I could feel my blood boiling when he said they hit her.   “Her last words were to say that they had shot her up with some drug and that she couldn't link anyone or use her powers. She asked about you, Luna Cheyenne, but before I could answer her the link was cut. Whatever drug they used on her it seems to keep cutting her links in and out.” Toby said and Mercury looked at me.   “Do you think you have enough energy to try and link her?” Mercury asked and I nodded. I closed my eyes and tried to find the connection between us.   “Anna, baby, where are you? Can you hear me?” I asked, mind-linking Anna and praying to the Moon Goddess that I could reach her.   Anna’s P.O.V   William and I had been sitting here for a few hours, waiting for the hunters to pass by and leave the area. We quietly listened and when we couldn't hear anything William started pacing back and forth by the cave entrance, trying to see if he could hear anything, but there wasn't a sound.   “They’re gone for now, I can't hear them outside anymore, so I’m going to take this as my chance to leave. Stay here okay, I’ll only be gone for a short time, I need to get us some food and wood.” William said, running back to me and I nodded. I walked with him back to the entrance of the cave and we both listened again, before pushing the huge boulder back.   “I’ll be right back, okay. Just don't leave this cave.” William said, turning to face me and I yet again nodded. William left the cave and pushed the boulder back in place, causing it to become dark again. There was a tiny sliver of light that beamed in through a gap at the very top of the boulder and that helped me see a little. I looked around at the cave and I could see that William wasn't lying, he had been living here for a while. There were torn up clothes, water and he had even built a fire pit so that he could cook his food. Twenty minutes had gone by since William left and I was praying that he hadn't been caught, when suddenly I heard the sound of the boulder being moved. I felt myself get scared, hoping they hadn't found us, but then I saw William stepping inside the cave and pushing the boulder back. He had made a makeshift bag and filled it with wood and fish that he had caught. He dropped the wood on the ground, making a loud thump as it hit the ground, then he placed the fish on a makeshift table and started to clean them. I had to turn my head away when he chopped the fish heads off, it was gross. I tried to distract myself by looking around the cave and noticed that there were lines and drawings on the caves wall. William then turned and put the logs in the fire pit, setting them a light with what looked like two rocks, which was weird.   “Did you do this?” I asked, pointing to the drawings.   “Yes.” William replied, looking up from the fire which was now glowing and warm. Who knew that two rocks being hit against each other would create fire.   “These are really good, I like the one with the bears and wolves. How long have you been out here?” I asked, trying to make conversation. I already knew he was my mate, Lizzy had been screaming it on and off ever since we met him and the sparks I felt when I was on his back proved it to me, but for a mate he sure didn't talk much, I thought to myself.   “I've been hiding out in this cave for the past ten years, I have another one I go to from time to time, but they found me and I had to run from it. I’ve seen them hunt others over the years and they all got killed, but you are the first one to live longer than the others.” William said and I nodded. How many others have there been?   “I can tell that you are a very special wolf, I saw you that day running towards that pond. I wanted to just come and join you, but it was too dangerous.” William said and at first I was confused as to what he was talking about, but then it hit me.   “Wait, it was you. You were the one that was watching me that day?” I asked and he nodded, smiling.   “So where were you that day because I couldn't see anything or even catch a scent on anything?” I asked and he chuckled. His laugh sent a shiver down my spine at how nice it sounded.   “Over the years I have learned how to climb fast and hide when I needed to. I didn't mean to scare you that day, but there is one thing I can't understand. You are a pure white wolf, which means that you have powers, so why didn't you use them on those assholes?” William asked, looking at me.   “Because of that drug they shot me up with, I can link and hear my family and pack every now and again, but I can't use my powers…..” I replied, but before I could continue with what I was saying a loud buzzing noise came into my head. I tried to concentrate on the noise and try to make sense of it or at least make it clearer and it worked.   “Anna, baby, where are you? Can you hear me?” I heard and I wasn't sure if it was real or if it was just my imagination hoping it was real. William was just about to say something and I quickly put my hand up, stopping him from talking as my eyes glazed over.   “Mom, is that really you or is this a trick?” I asked and heard her laugh, but it sounded weird.   “No honey, it's really me. I got hurt pretty bad, but I’m healing now. Do you know where you are?” My mom asked and it really was her. I was overjoyed to know that she was okay.   Cheyenne’s P.O.V   “Mom, oh goddess mom, I’m so glad you're okay. We are in a cave and we are having to hide for a couple of days, then we will be heading back to you. He says we have to because they won't leave until then…..” Anna said and I had no idea that she was with someone, but it was so good to hear her voice, but then the link got cut.   “Anna, whose we? Who else is with you? Anna? Anna.” I said, but it was no use. I screamed out in frustration and Mercury quickly rushed to my side.   “Are you okay?” Mercury asked, worried.   “Yes. Anna said we, she said they are hiding in a cave for a couple of days and then coming this way. I asked who the other person was, but the link got cut and I don't think she heard me.” I replied and both Mercury and Toby looked at me worried.   “Do you know who the other person is?” I asked, sensing that they were hiding something from me.
