Chapter 14 Deliverance Rain was left alone often. For that she was thankful. The Dewar were cowardly sacks of dung, not able to have an honest, clear thought. But they knew one thing, and that was the art of torture. Rain endured it, for she had no other choice. But it was becoming clear to her that if she were to survive, she must somehow escape. Arastor, if he even knew she was missing, would never find her in these tunnels. They shackled Rain at her hands; the chains running into the high ceiling. Chains were too strong for her to break.
