Kaylie's POV
With high hopes, I'm about to spill the beans to Melda about why we're here. But before I can say a word,
Melda raises her hand, signaling for silence. With her eyes closed, she begins chanting in a language none of us can understand, the words flowing from her lips like a river.
wa be khau tai lu ai gia lai kha me jip lai mai than cau lang kio lu lai......" Her voice resonates through the room, each syllable carrying an otherworldly weight.
We stand frozen, our eyes fixed on Melda, not daring to move a muscle. The atmosphere is thick with anticipation, each moment feeling longer than the last as we wait for Melda's next move. Her hand twitches, her brow furrowing in concentration as she continues her incantation.
Suddenly, Melda's chanting grows louder, more intense. "Sikhui chaulang colang maiane phaisi, lu tansi wa horlu tiok taici," she shouts, her voice echoing off the walls. It's as if she's channeling some unseen force, her entire being consumed by the power of her words.
Her eyes widen, reflecting a mixture of determination and otherworldly energy. Her hand shoots up once more, fingers trembling with the force of her invocation. We watch in awe, mesmerized by the spectacle unfolding before us.
Melda's chanting reaches a crescendo, each word vibrating with an intensity that seems to shake the very foundations of the room. And then, as suddenly as it began, her chanting stops. She takes a deep breath and collapses back onto her sofa, her chest heaving with exertion.
The three of us remain silent, our hearts pounding in our chests, still unable to fully comprehend the magnitude of what we've just witnessed. Melda's power is undeniable, her abilities beyond anything we could have imagined. We're too scared to even twitch, worried that Melda's mojo might get interrupted. The atmosphere is tense, and we can't shake the feeling that something big is about to happen.
We let the silence hang heavy in the room, allowing Melda, who looks exhausted, to catch her breath. Then, Melda opens her eyes and speaks to me directly,
"Luna Kaylie," Melda continues, her voice tinged with sympathy, "a vengeful witch has sent black magic through the air towards Black Sapphire Pack. This witch is powerful, stronger than me, driven by vengeance against you, who took away her precious son. Is it true?" She holds my gaze, her eyes reflecting understanding and compassion.
I nod solemnly, feeling the weight of Melda's words. "Yes, it's true," I reply, my voice barely above a whisper. " The witch named is Huiwi, She is Blake;s mother but Blake was truly evil. He kidnapped omegas to impregnate them, intending to build his own pack and soldiers. With the help of his mother, witch Huiwi, he also immobilized my husband, Alpha Lucas, and almost killed him. So, I had to kill him. It was my first time killing as a werewolf, and my wolf also made its debut then. I did it to protect Lucas. If Blake hadn't tried to kill Lucas, I wouldn't have killed him either. I'm a doctor, bound by the Hippocratic Oath to save lives, not end them," I explain to Melda, recounting the past events. But deep down, I know she probably already saw it in her visions.
"Yes, I know," she replies. My suspicions were correct. Melda already knew about the situation; she was just kind enough to let me spill out all my worries.
"Kaylie, my dear, I've witnessed the depths of your bravery and sacrifice in my visions. The lengths you've gone to protect your husband's life are truly touching," Melda's voice carries the weight of empathy, her eyes reflecting the sorrow of understanding. "But for one as malevolent and cunning as Huiwi, goodness is but a target for her wrath. Her heart knows no peace until she exacts her vengeance. It's a vicious cycle, an endless loop of pain and retaliation," she continues, her tone heavy with the burden of the truth.
She pauses, a deep sigh escaping her lips, carrying the weight of countless struggles she's seen unfold. "Eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, that's the grim reality of her principle," Melda concludes, her voice trembling with emotion.
Chiko's frustration is palpable, her concern for my well-being evident in her voice. "Yeah, seriously Melda, we gotta figure out what Kaylie can do. We can't just stand around while this black magic messes up everything at Blue Sapphire Pack. I mean, come on, we're supposed to have her back, right? I am her best friend. I must help her with all I have. So, spill it, what's the plan?" Her determination to help me is clear, her words echoing the urgency of the situation.
Rose's tone carries a mix of frustration and determination, reflecting her deep concern for my safety. " Yes I agree with Luna Chiko. We're not just gonna sit around twiddling our thumbs while Huiwi's dark magic wreaks havoc on Blue Sapphire Pack. If it means sending my badass female warriors on a mission to track down and give Huiwi a piece of our minds, I'm all in." Her words are laced with a touch of humor, but her underlying seriousness is unmistakable.
Hearing Rose's fiery declaration about mobilizing the female warriors triggers a response from me. "Hold your wolves, Rose. Let's not go all Braveheart just yet. Remember, we're not exactly in our fighting prime at the moment," I jest, trying to lighten the mood. "Our safety comes first, ladies. We're here to seek Melda's sage advice, not to kick some witch butt. Maybe we can figure out a way to bounce that black magic back to Huiwi, like returning a package with a different courier service She sent it with DHL , we FedEx it right back!" I chuckle, hoping to inject a bit of levity into the tense atmosphere.
Melda listens attentively, understanding our concerns. "You all have strong determination, but you must remember that true strength doesn't always come from violence. In facing an enemy as formidable as Huiwi, you need to use intelligence, wisdom, and the strength that comes from your unity as one." Her eyes shine with fervent passion.
I nod in agreement, "But what can we do, Melda? We don't have the magical powers that you possess."
Melda's gentle smile offers a glimmer of hope amidst the uncertainty. "Your strength lies not only in your individual abilities, but in the unwavering loyalty and friendship you share with each other," she says, her voice soft yet firm. "And let's not forget the formidable power of love you hold for your families, deeply rooted in your hearts." Her words resonate with us, a reminder of the bond that binds us together. "Together, you can find a way to overcome this looming threat," she continues, her tone reassuring. "And always remember, there is nothing stronger than a solid unity" Then she continues her word with a mysterious smile on her face "Now, please follow me to my secret room. I will tell you everything you need to know to tackle the witch's black magic." With that, she turns and leads us through a hidden door, leaving us intrigued and eager to uncover the secrets she holds within.
