Without saying anything else, the doors jiggled, causing Lupe to stop moving from her current position and look at the door; we both heard my father speak. "Open the doors." Lupe let out a small growl as the doors opened; things were turning in my favor, and I could not let her see it just yet. As my father entered, I noticed his expression of pity; it was unusual to see my father in such a state, as it was not typical of him to express his emotions. As I was getting ready to move, my father approached me with a letter in his hand, and he began to take a seat beside me, just as Lupe did.
