Chapter Nine
THE NEXT MORNING, I shared breakfast with my direct association and the others in the household: Thayu and Emi, Nicha and Ayshada, Veyada, Mereeni and Ileyu, Deyu and Reida. Raanu and Karana appeared to have hit it off on a good note, and were still chatting. Karana was quite a bit older, but they seemed well matched in conversation, all this while Karana was making sure all the kids got breakfast.
Even Evi and Telaris came in briefly. Devlin ran in to grab some bread.
Raanu was very disappointed that I wouldn’t let her go on the train by herself. She protested.
“But we travelled this way on the train already when we came from the airport, and I have a map, so what can go wrong?”
“I’m not worried too much about what can go wrong, but I need to speak to the council as well
